A Forgotten Dream [Solo/Omen]

Dovefrost let out a sigh, the cloud of fog bellowing out from his maw as he released his breath. The snow crunched softly under his paws. The cold had bothered him when he first started his trip home. The cold from the snow seeping into his paws, slowly numbing them to the point he couldn't really feel them when he arrived at the forest he called home.

His path would take him by the Owl Tree, a place he knew he could check on some herbs on his way home. Maybe he could bring something back that would fill his den just a little more. He knew Thunderclan was suffering, and it would only be a matter of time til illness broke out among them. He needed to do anything and everything he could to be prepared. Of course.. If he could find some prey that would be even better. Food was the most important thing Thunderclan needed. Herbs would help them yes, but if they were to regain strength they needed food.

As the white tom approached the Owl tree a certain.. stench caught his attention.. Something he hadn't smelled in a while but it was certainly very.. Fox..

Carefully the white tom approached, ears alert for any and all sounds that might have been heading his way. The scent all seemed to be leading closer to the tree.. it didn't seem to move in the slightest. So the Fox was certainly here.. He moved closer, a flash or orange catching his attention causing him to duck down, out of sight but when nothing came, the tom poked his head out.

Green eyes carefully scanned the clearing.. The orange figure hadn't moved.. Was it resting? He peered closer, studying the form.. As he stepped closer the scent of death hit him.. A scent he knew somewhat well. Now that his safety was confirmed, he stepped forward. Stopping just before the fox. Eyes scanning it's form before falling on the crow that sat in it's maw.

He sat back.. This was certainly something.. A sign.. an Omen.. For the fox to have died when it just obtained something so vital.. so hopeful.. For it all to result in this? Being frozen to death.. Even with the hope of New leaf around the corner it seemed that this leaf-bare was going to take anything and everything it could. It was going to last longer than they thought..

A grim look took over the tom's face. "Even with hope.. It can all be ripped away in a second.." He muttered to himself. He needed to share this.. With both clans.. With the herbs forgotten, he continued his path to Thunderclan. Keeping his pace at a walk. He didn't need to lose the rest of his energy.
