Daystar should've known that this would go south. Fighting had never been her forte, but fleeing now would only make her seem like more of a coward than she already did. She had to see this through, at least for a little bit, and only consider turning tail if it was absolutely necessary. As Murkystar sent the she-cat falling to the ground rather ungracefully, the oxygen was forcefully yanked out of her lungs and the faintest thud erupted from the ground below. The unfamiliar sound of battle instantly picked up around her as she groggily lifted her head and attempted to regain her balance. She hadn't taken part in that many battles within her lifetime, but times like this made her wish that she had more experience.

As Daystar lay recovering, Murkystar didn't give her the relief of a reprieve from her attacks. Lunging forward, she snapped at the other leader's shoulders before darting back away from her opponent, glaring at her with narrowed eyes. WindClan didn't need this land, regardless of what their leader said. Otherwise, what had taken so long?

When the other apprentice came down upon her, Mistypaw did what any self respecting cat would do.

She screamed.

"Agh! Get off of me! You're hurting me! Geez, what do you ShadowClan cats eat??? You're so foxing heavy! Uh, oops, don't tell my pa I said a bad word."

Chuckling nervously, Mistypaw attempted to squirm her way out, only to find she was very stuck. "For real, though, you can let go of me now. I can't exactly go back to camp and brag to my brother if I was on the ground the entire time!"

Mustypaw is pinned and in denial!

There was some amount of triumph in her mind as she felt claws connect with fur and flesh. That simply meant that she was doing well. Until he quickly dashed past her, at least. It was too fast for her to pivot on her bad paw, and the Shadowclanner was now firmly behind her. Ashfall stifled another yelp of pain as she felt teeth sink into her tail, taking fur with it. Pivoting quickly, she lashed out with claws at the tom's face. Unfortunately, Ashfall didn't quite care if she gave this cat a few scars. He did take her last ear after all.

The she-cat was quick to pull herself free of his grasp, whipping around to face him. Mistyfalcon hissed as claws sank into his cheek, lashing out with his own claws in retaliation. Why was it always the face?

A wince as claws hit her back. Ashfall retaliated in turn, with a heavy claw slash to the body, then another in short succession to the leg. She didn't want to maim or kill this cat on accident, she just wanted him to hurt enough to just leave. That wasn't going to happen though, and she knew it. He was still fresher than her, and she was starting to fade. She just had to do as much damage as possible before she went down.

Ashfall used Front Paw Strike and Desperate Blows, dealing 10 + 7 (17) damage, and using 5 + 7 (12) stamina!

Quick strikes from the she-cat had Mistyfalcon struggling to dodge, blood dripping as her claws caught him in the side painfully. Despite that he could tell the she-cat was beginning to tire, and he lunged forward, sinking his teeth into the back of her neck and shaking roughly. If it would keep her dazed long enough, he could end this quickly.

Ashfall tried to evade the scruff grab, to no avail. She was just slowing down the more tired she got, and when she felt teeth grab her scruff, she knew it was about to suck. After a bout of violent shaking, she stumbled away from her opponent, desperately trying to get her brain back under control.

The she-cat stumbled, staggering away from him, and Mistyfalcon followed up with another slash of his claws. She was fading quickly, and once he'd taken her out of the fight he'd go and help his clanmates who needed it. Shadowclan was not losing the outcropping today if he could help it.

...Starclan, are Windclanners loud, the little black tom thought with a wince. For a moment, his heart rate spiked, thinking he’d actually hurt her — Ratpaw had been using all his strength, and she was his size, for once — but while he was pinning firmly, it shouldn’t be painful. The littler molly squirmed, and Ratpaw’s muscles resisted, locking to keep her legs immobile, teeth digging into the fur of her neck.

...it shouldn’t be that painful, he amended. The only creatures Ratpaw had held down in his life were prey, and at least then he could end their suffering quickly. (And they quieted.)

He didn’t have that option.

This apprentice would not quiet, and in that moment Ratpaw deeply regretted grasping her by her scruff, with her mew so close to his ears... they flattened. He thought of letting her go — she asked — but his teeth and leg still stung fiercely, and Ratpaw knew he couldn’t win. She’d bite him if he did, the little tom just knew it.

What they did to kits in the moors, he’d never guess — but something must’ve made them crazy.

She placed her full weight on her Shadowclan enemy, doing her best to keep him down. She wasn't going down without a fight.

Mistypaw was still squirming around, eyes wild as she tried to get a grip on herself. She could feel teeth in her neck, and for just a moment was afraid this cat would use a killing bite.

"Y-you can't kill me! It's against the warrior code! T-this is just a border fight! D-daystar won't let you get away with it if you kill me now!"

Then she realized his grip on the neck wasn't even all that strong. Maybe she could twist around and kick him off?

Yes! She was able to get out! Clawing at the tom on top of her, she scrambled to get away, gasping for breath. Maybe she came into this a little too cocky.....

Mistypaw used Duck and Twist! It was successful! She dealt 5 damage and used 5 stamina.
