Call for Blood [SkC vs WC]

Silverlight sprang awake in alarm as the sounds of a battle reached his exhausted ears. It was just as he had feared, SkyClan had decided on raiding WindClan's camp. Unfortunately, they had been caught off guard due to the paranoia tiring them out after nights of little rest. He had to get up and help his clan and RiverClan out!

The sliver-furred warrior did just that as he scrambled out of his nest and raced over to the raging chaos in the camp. The adrenaline coursing through his veins fogged his mind and he decided to bowl over the first SkyClanner he could scent. He felt bad but a battle was a battle and they needed to drive SkyClan back.

"Sorry. If I didn't have to attack, I wouldn't. I hope you understand." he grunted out with an apologetic gaze to the she-cat he just went after as he prepared to defend from any attack she may dish out in retaliation.

She didn't let up, letting the barrage of claws swipe at his pelt. If she could chase this Skyclan tom away, then there would be one less opponent whose teeth could potentially mar her kit's coat. A low hiss had broken from her chest. For once, Kitefire did not tilt her head as she pushed away her inadequacy, her fear. Everything culminated in a sweeping numbness, somehow stronger and more condemning than the sensation that had taken over her being since taking residency in Riverclan. There was no way to tell who or what she truly fought for, what drove her but... Flypaw, Flypaw, Flypaw. The hiss transformed into a snarl.

Amberfluff flinched, unbalanced, as she was pulled backwards by her tail. Oh gods-she knew this move. It had gotten her out of a sticky situation before. However, being on the receiving side of it wasn't so great. With a wince and a hiss, she fought to regain her balance, swinging herself around to face the other cat.

Hayglow yelped as the tom suddenly jumped at her, managing to easily clamber onto her back. As the realization that she was truly in battle hit her, panic starting to rise up in her throat. She didn't want to fight, she didn't want to hurt another cat. She didn't...She closed her eyes, taking in a deep breath as she dropped down and rolled to the side - hoping she could perhaps slip free from the fight. In the quick movement, she pulled herself to her paws and realized with a stab of joy that she was free - having knocked off the SkyClan warrior. She gave him a smile, a friendly one in joy that she had managed to pull it off - almost forgetting that SkyClan had been the ones to invade their camp and that he was an enemy.

Hayglow attempted to use Duck-and-Twist, dealing 5 damage and costing 5 stamina and attempted to break free from the hold and succeeded. Hayglow is no longer stunned.

Spottedpaw let out a yowl of anger as the other apprentice crushed her leg between his teeth. She reeled back, snarling, and collapsed to the ground in a heap, feigning defeat. Things moved quickly, and the moment Yarrowpaw had taken his eyes off of her for a second, she was on her paws again, blindsiding him with a flurry of claws against his pelt.

A quiet voice startled Cloverpaw out of her restless haze, and she paused to look towards Smallbean. She offered him a gentle smile, and she was about to join him in the safety of his den, but before she could lift a paw a terrible screech broke the silence of the night. The war had come, and in spite of herself she let out her own cry of terror.

Everything in her body willed her to move, race to Smallbean's side and shiver in the furthest, darkest corner of the little hole, but her legs felt rooted to the earth. Her heart was pounding, and as a cat much larger stormed towards her, it kicked into a full thunder. Too late she recognized the mass of fur as Wolfstar– she barely had time to wonder Why? before he threw himself at her.

She let out another wail, but it was cut short by Wolfstar's teeth sinking into her neck. The noise choked out into a hoarse cough as pain cut through her. She wanted to scream at him to stop, but as she felt her paws leave the ground her head started to swim, washing any coherent thought away.

Cloverpaw had never felt this level of terror. She had rarely any reason to– only twice in her life had she ever truly been afraid –but this was more than she could bear. Over the overwhelming pound of her heart, she was all too aware of how much everything hurt. The pain was searing, and it felt like it was everywhere: his claws raked her legs, his teeth bit harder against her neck, her shoulders ached from the force of being shaken...

Her stomach rolled. She felt so, so sick and so, so dizzy. Was she going to pass out soon? It sure felt like it. She tried to open her eyes, but her vision was dark. She couldn't tell if she really was blacking out or if there was blood on her face.

Voice thin and strained, Cloverpaw managed to rasp out, "Stop." Her entire body was shaking; she couldn't even raise lift a paw to strike back. Wolfstar had to let her go, right? He wouldn't just kill RiverClan's medicine cat apprentice... right?

She couldn't die tonight. She was sent here for a reason.

But as much as she wanted to flail and kick and scream and claw the brute's eyes out, she felt utterly helpless under Wolfstar's iron bite.

Newtpaw returned Spottedpaw's pressure, leaning against her as well. He offered a smile, hoping it would bring her some comfort. Maybe bring him some, too. Sighing, he looked towards Wolfstar, waiting for the signal. Any moment now, right?

Then it happened. War had finally begun as he was tearing into WindClan with the rest of his Clan, screeches rising into the air. It was chaos immediately, cats rolling and yowling everywhere around him. He almost couldn't tell who was who, which cats he was meant to be fighting and which he was supposed to protect. He scanned the crowd, looking for sight of his sisters, wondering if either of them needed help, but he found a different target: one cat was caught in the middle of the camp, looking at the surrounding tumult like he was lost.

He had no idea who the cat even was, but he wasn't SkyClan. With a howl, Newtpaw surged towards the tom, springing off the ground with full force. Outstretched claws sank into his shoulder, and he sent them both into the ground with a vicious hiss.

Nighthaze grunted as claws met flesh, it burned! Not badly enough he couldn't retaliate though. Using his long legs, he leaped onto his opponent, attempting to pin her down. He didn't want to hurt her, but he had to fight for his clan! He couldn't disobey Wolfstar, Dawnhawk must be here somewhere anyway! As soon as they got him, they could leave with their pride intact.

On his last leg, angry and blindsided, Yarrowpaw played dirty. Directly copying his opponent, Yarrowpaw fell to the ground, gasping for a breath he knew he didn’t need. Waiting until the apprentice fell for it, Yarrowpaw continued to huff and puff, pretending his breath was getting slower and his eyes were fluttering shut. Suddenly, the tom lashed out at Spottedpaw’s side, raking the skin underneath with a violent rage.

Blood flooded over Wolfstar's tongue, and he felt the apprentice's pulse thumping between his teeth as they sank into her neck. There was a primal voice in his head that cried do it, prove your point, and his jaw ground with the effort of resisting that urge, nostrils flaring, sucking in ragged, frenzied breaths. Unsnapping his jaw, Wolfstar wrenched his head to the side, slinging Cloverpaw free and sending her skidding in the sand several tail-lengths, leaving a bloodied trail in her wake. With that, he turned away from her, eyes wild and searching for his next target.

Wolfstar used Snap on Cloverpaw, dealing 12 damage and costing 6 SP. Cloverpaw is KO'd. Wolfstar is now unengaged. Wolfstar takes 3 damage from StarClan's Judgement.

A tom bounded towards Beechface, then stopped in his tracks. Thinking better of attacking a medicine cat, perhaps... Or because his clanmate had barreled into her instead. Beechface snarled and spat, feeling claws tear through fur. Pain shot through her, and she looked up into the tabby and white face of the Windclan leader. Beechface's lips peeled back into an unfriendly mockery of a smile at the realization. Lilacstar spoke, and Beechface spat in response. Her blood boiled at the Windclan leader's words.

"Pointless? You harbored him. I watched as he killed a kit, our sister. She wasn't even three. moons. old. He maimed our mother, and has killed others." Beechface snarled in Lilacstar's face, yellow-green eyes glowing with rage. "You were warned. Repeatedly, yet you sheltered him anyways. Your word that he isn't here means less than nothing." She growled. If Lilacstar thought that Dawnhawk was actually gone, she was beyond naïve. "I pity Windclan, paying the price of your foolishness." Beechface knew her littermate that well, at least.

"You should have thanked Dovefrost for stepping in front of me at the gathering." Nobody would step in front of her this time, Lilacstar had attacked her first. Foolish, foolish Windclanner.

Lilacstar's life could never hope to make up for those that had been lost already. She'd find her brother eventually, or he would find her. Tonight though...

Beechface lunged forward, fangs sinking into Lilacstar's neck. The medicine cat wrenched her head to the side. Her only regret was that it wasn't Dawnhawk's neck she was snapping.

Beechface used Killing Bite on Lilacstar for -9 sp.

Finally, finally the pressure on her neck relented. Cloverpaw wanted to let out a gasp of relief, but she couldn't feel the ground under her– did Wolfstar toss her? Maybe she could feel the air stirring around her... she wasn't sure. She was sure when she found the earth again, hitting the sand with a thump. The pain rose to a blinding point.

Her breath was labored, and her dizziness only got worse. She still couldn't see... were her eyes open? Was she moving? She wanted to be. She should be on her paws, helping Smallbean... she should be doing something. But she lay in the dirt, body still except for the quick, shallow rise and fall of her sides, and soon enough the darkness in her vision overwhelmed her, and her head dropped to the ground.

Cloverpaw is KO'ed.

With her opponent stunned, Birdsong lashed out with a front paw, though fear filled her at the thought of actually fighting a cat that probably didn't have anything to do with Dawnhawk. Attacking Windclan's camp over it had been wrong. How many innocents would be hurt tonight?

Ashfall lurked on the outskirts of battle, waiting for an opening. When Skyclan had invaded the camp, she had immediately jumped out of her nest and looked for someone to fight, but the battling was dense and difficult to navigate through, and much of Skyclan had already been taken on. Though a flash of fur caught her eyes, and she dashed forward with a snarl. "Leave. NOW!" Her threat delivered, her claws tried to snag themselves into the Skyclanner's fur.
