Call for Blood [SkC vs WC]

Brookpaw nodded to Smallbean, and immediately rushed out of the medicine den. Swiftspirit came to mind, and she darted over to where she and a RiverClan tom were. "Smallbean told me to tell you to go to his den if you need healing, and Swiftspirit looks like she needs it." The apprentice mewed, hardly letting her words settle before dashing away again.

She began to head towards Tawnyflare, but a pelt she recognized as a RiverClanner bought her attention. Just a little longer, Tawnyflare! She thought, rushing in to assist Cloudpaw. To her dismay, it looked like the apprentice was in rough shape. Hang tight just a little longer. It's just you and me, SkyClan cat.

Jumping, she raked her unsheathed claws down the warrior's shoulder, hoping desperately some cat would come assist her. I'm exhausted.

Bloodstrike exhaled upon impact like a trained boxer, pushing him... maybe a step or two off of the downed deputy. That was fine... seeing as she had potentially two broken legs... how much trouble could she possibly be? Bloodstrike's eyes met with his challenger's. Dawnhawk had had children in Windclan??? He had enough time to have children here... and yet Windclan never said a word to Skyclan? Still, Bloodstrike hesitated only a moment.

"I guess at least someone in Windclan liked Dawnhawk quite a bit..." And with that, Bloodstrike spun on Ashfall and struck out with his claws and teeth. He couldn't think of her as family right now. There was only a battle going on, and she was on the other side of it. Bloodstrike raked his claws over an eye, the other down the tendon on one of her forepaws, and his teeth gripped an ear as he gave it a sharp jerk. This needed to end. Right now. There were too many other foes around for him to be slow about it.

Ashfall was able to stand defiantly against the large, brown tom for a moment, eyes locking with his, before she saw him move lightning fast toward her. She tried to get out of the way, but it was in vain. Despite being trained in Windclan all her life, running the moors with a speed faster than the other clans could muster, she couldn't dodge him, he was just too large. She was brought down quickly. Searing pain made its way through one of her paws, his claws tearing at the paw. Before she could act, his teeth ripped through one of her ears like paper. Like ear wounds did, it bled heavily. Ashfall was helpless before Bloodstrike's blows. Despite her attempts to ward off them off, there was another white-hot pain. Suddenly, the sight from her left eye cut out.

Heavily bleeding, and getting weaker by the second, Ashfall managed to roll out of the way, staggering to the paws that would still hold her weight. Then, she did something she hoped she'd never have to do, she backed away as quickly as she could, but not before lashing out at Bloodstrike for what he had done to her, and for her clan. As she staggered back, she was able to make it to the back of the battle before her vision went dark, and she collapsed.

Ashfall used Fight and Flee, dealing 10 damage, and using all her stamina! Ashfall has removed herself from the battle!

Bloodstrike would have felt horrible... absolutely horrible about this... But he couldn't afford to. She was an enemy... and he couldn't think any further than that in the middle of a fight. Skyclan wasn't doing well... though they had been surprised by unexpected reinforcements. Today might not have been their day, but he would make sure they would remember Skyclan forever.

He surveyed the scene around him, taking in the sight of two fallen leaders.... one still haughtily standing... several Skyclan cats running away (that he would have a serious talking to afterward) and finally... Mountainheart??? She must have saved Beechface. Why? Bloodstrike didn't know, but in this moment, she was an ally. He'd ask Beechface, or Mountainheart later.

Bloodstrike had two targets that he wanted... but it was wiser to choose only one...

Then again, why not both?

"HEY! YOU ATTACKING MOUNTAINHEART! YOU STINK OF WINDCLAN!" And with that... Bloodstrike made a few bounds towards the unconscious Lilacstar. He slid to a stop, whipped his hind end towards her... and let one rip as loud as he possibly could. And boy was it audible. Bloodstrike was legitimately almost concerned.... but again he had a battle to focus on.

"Skyclan farts smell sort of like the moor. Go give her a whiff and tell me what you think!" He chuckled obnoxiously... right before he abruptly changed direction and charged Ivystar. His daughter already had leader blood on her teeth... he wanted some too! He'd never live it down if he didn't. Hopefully that would save Mountainheart from... whoever that was's claws.

Dayspring was unsure if she had the energy to be angry at Bloodstrike. When he began to push down on her remaining forelimb, all the she-cat could do was let out a croak of desperation. It was embarrassing, to say the least, to be the deputy WindClan and sound so hopeless during a time when all her Clan needed was strength, but this wasn't something that she could hide.
"Please... p-please stop." She rasped as she felt her breathing grow weaker and weaker with every inhale and exhale.
The pain was enough to blur her vision to the point that every cat around her became unrecognizable. The she-cat knew that she had no other options left. She had no ability to run and she certainly didn't have the ability to fight. As she began to attempt to organize her thoughts, she barely noticed the fact that darkness was beginning to consume her vision, and she only became aware a few heartbeats before her world went completely dark and she lost consciousness.

Bearpaw had been more than ready and willing to make another move, but another cat joined the fray. Judging by the scent, the newest opponent was also a WindClan cat. There was barely time to even think or plan an attack before a paw was raised and smashed down upon her head. The dizziness of being knocked out was something unfamiliar to the young she-cat, and even though she still had a burning desire to rise to her paws and continue the fight, her muscles had given out. There was a quiet thud as she hit the ground, eyes shut, and paws sprawled out in front of her.

No... no, no, no... that's not fair! How could I-?

She fell unconscious.

Cloudpaw had always hated that phrase. It almost seemed as if it was meant to make a mockery out of your opponent. To the she-cat, all it seemed to mean was, 'I don't want to hurt you, but I'm gonna do it anyway'. How contradictory was that? No matter how furious she felt in the moment, the apprentice couldn't manage to cough up another word. The final blow from her opponent was enough to weaken her to the point of no return. Cloudpaw's breaths were shallow as she lay on the dusty ground and scanned the chaotic camp with narrowed eyes. There was no way that she was going to be able to continue fighting while she was in this condition.

Yowling angrily, Amberfluff batted at Mountainheart with a claw, to unfortunately very little avail. Instead, as she laid there, the haze of red began to slowly clear from her eyes. Wriggling, she continued working her way out of below Mountainheart.

A call came from the side, but Amberfluff was too occupied at the moment trying to wriggle free. When her eyes darted up, all she saw was the backside of Bloodstrike darting away and the lingering scent of stink in the air. Which, frankly, Amberfluff didn't take much notice of at the moment, far too busy focusing on getting herself out from below Mountainheart.

Mountainheart, despite her size, was finding it very difficult to keep Amberfluff pinned. She was struggling a lot, and Mountainheart's paw kept sliding off her shoulder. After a few seconds of this, her grip on Amberfluff loosened enough for the older cat to wriggle free.

Mountainheart took a step back, chest heaving. Her head hurt. Her everything hurt. She was feeling all woozy. Blood was probably supposed to stay inside her body. That would explain the fact that she was nearly unable to stand anymore, anyway.

With a disproportionate amount of effort on her part, she pushed in closed to Amberfluff and slashed at her with her claws. Had she been thinking clearly she'd be horrified at the fact that she was using her claws on another cat, but she barely had the capacity to stand let alone think. Her slashing quickly grew desperate, paws flailing wildly as she teetered on the spot. She wouldn't be conscious much longer, though that was the last thing on her mind at the time.

And now, finally, Amberfluff was free again. Mountainheart certainly wasn't the best fighter. Hissing, still angry from being blocked from fighting Beechface, Amberfluff reared up onto her hind legs, tail lashing from side to side to keep her balance. She swiped down with both paws, claws unsheathed and aimed straight for Mountainheart's head. Amberfluff's thoughts were still too crowded by emotion to think properly about the consequences of this.

Well, she'd tried her best. But a newly named warrior with zero experience could only hold her ground for so long, and now her time was up. Her eyes widened as she watched Amberfluff rear up, claws unsheathed. She barely had time to register the pain across her head and ears before her vision went black- or was it red? She couldn't tell. She could taste blood dripping into her mouth from her forehead. Blood was gross. Swaying dangerously from side to side, she stuck her tongue out to get rid of the taste just before collapsing from the blood loss. Her consciousness slowly ebbed away as she lay there in a small puddle of her own blood, tongue still sticking out.

Sunnyskip growled as the she-cat deftly dodged her claws, and bared her teeth. "If this is what you call winning I'd hate to see what you considered losing." She spat, hissing as claws raked down her face, narrowly missing her eye. A flash of fur to the side made her breath catch before she realized that is was an ally, here to help... And not just any ally. "Muddyleap!" She exclaimed as she recognized the tom who had jumped to her aid. She glanced over him, taking note of his wounds without a word. When had he gotten so skinny?... She returned her focus to the cat in front of her with renewed vigor. Darting to her other side, Sunnyskip bit at her shoulder.

Beechface could only stare in disbelief, frozen horror as Wolfstar fell. No, no, nonono.

Time seemed to stand still as the blood roared in her ears. She hardly noticed Mountainheart, hardly noticed what was going on between the deputies, or her siblings that were still locked in combat. Her awareness was limited to a single point. Wolfstar's body. Ivystar standing over him.

Rage burned in her chest. The Riverclan leader had already done enough harm, but now she'd taken Wolfstar's life.

The first two times that had happened, there had been nobody to blame, nobody but Beechface. She had gone into the trees, she had been too slow to warn Wolfstar.

Now she had been too distracted.

But ivystar was still standing over him... And Beechface would take her down if she had to die herself.

Movement in her peripheral vision had the medicine cat's head snapping around to face it, yellow-green eyes burning a hole into whatever had distracted her.

Bloodstrike.

He turned his rear end towards Lilacstar. A noise that seemed to drift past Beechface before he said... Something. If it was aimed at Beechface, she didn't hear. If it wasn't... She still didn't hear a word of it. Then he spun, racing towards Wolfstar and Ivystar.

Without thinking, her paws moved in their direction. Bloodstrike lunged for Ivystar and her claws ached to rip into the Riverclanner as well. She'd bury her fangs in her throatand snap her neck to the side, just like she had done to Lilacstar.

Something brushed against her paws, and Beechface looked down. She hadn't been aware that she'd walked directly toward Wolfstar until his body was at her feet. The cold shock of clarity was enough to snap her out of her rage, if only momentarily.

Herbs, she needed herbs. Starclan would heal whatever had taken his life. She would not think about what had happened. Wouldn't think about the she-cat that had ripped open his throat. Not thinking was safer. For everyone.

The medicine cat stormed towards the edge of the camp towards Muddythorn, unaware of her surroundings, unaware of anyone that hastily scrambled out of her way as she made a beeline for where the medicine cat apprentice sat, her gaze was locked to the bundles of herbs at his paws.

She grabbed several bundles and spun, beelining towards Wolfstar. Bloodstrike could keep Ivystar back... He had to. Nobody else was going to get close to Wolfstar if she could help it.

One opponent down, and Birdsong hardly had time to think before another apprentice was running towards her. Hissing in frustration and maybe a bit of panic, she lunged forward, using her weight and height advantage to pin the apprentice down. She just wanted to get out of this fighting as quickly as she could. Her wounds stung painfully and she just wanted to go home. She couldn't just leave, though, not when so many of her clanmates remained.

Birdsong used leap and hold on Brookpaw for -14 sp, dealing -9 damage. Brookpaw is pinned for 2 turns.
