Juniperlight exhaled his frustration out of his nostrils, knowing that arguing was pointless. Battles with claws were hardly solved with words; neither side believed they were wrong. After all, Juniperlight didn’t control Wolfstar’s decision to attack just as his nameless opponent didn’t control Lilacstar’s decision to let Dawnhawk leave without sharing any information. Action had already been taken that was too late to stop. Wordlessly he struck out at her, shrugging off the quick hits. He couldn’t let her know how much he pitied her.

A soft growl escaped Hayglow as the tom struck her back, eyes narrowing even as she felt the stung of tears building. She didn't want to fight, she had never wanted to fight another cat after she had killed Lexine. She just...She wanted to be left alone with her kits! She bared her teeth, anger rising in her chest at the whole situation - at Lilacstar for allowing Dawnhawk to stay to SkyClan invading without even a chance to speak. With an angry yowl, she reared backwards, swiping at the tom with everything she had - determined to try to chase this tom off so she could seek out her kits.

The battle had been raging for what felt like a moon. He was growing tired and he wanted this to end quickly. Juniperlight couldn’t see a quick way out, though to be fair, the half-blind tom couldn’t see a lot. Just his enemy and the cold stars above and a sickening coat of blood on the ground and the cats around them. It was sickening. He leapt forward with a snarl, a final exertion of his dwindling anger, and reared up to let his heavy weight fall down through his legs and onto her head.

Hayglow yowled in pain and surprise as the tom brought his paws down onto her head, sending her crashing to the ground - her chin ramming the ground hard and she felt the sharp taste of blood in her mouth as she struggled to her paws. Her eyes narrowed as she rocked backwards onto her back paws and shoved her claws straight at his chest - pushing him away with surprising force as she bared her bloodied teeth at him. "Go. Away." she growled, tail lashing as she stared down at the tom, feeling the tears finally break free. After a few heartbeats, her cold expression cracked, suddenly realizing that she knew this tom - of course she did. "...Please. My boy - Muddyleap - he...He was so excited when he found you with Softbreeze, that he got to help a cat, make a new friend... It would...It would break his heart to see you here fighting us - fighting me. Please, just...Go. I don't want to hurt you any more - I don't want to hurt anybody anymore."

He stumbled back into the dust. He bared his fangs back at her, ready to take another wild slash at her face, but something in her face shifted. Muddyleap was her son…? Oh, stars. He’d been so out of it when WindClan found him that he hardly remembered his first few days back in the forest, but there was no mistaking that there was some familiarity in her face. All this time he could only see her as an obstacle, but… she was just another cat. His tail swept against the ground behind him as he took a careful step backward, and then another, until his resolve broke and the deep, throbbing ache in his flesh and bones really set in. Juniperlight was tired and defeated. SkyClan was being routed; several of his Clanmates were withdrawing, fleeing the camp alone or in pairs supporting one another. With another sweep of his tail, Juniperlight spun on his heel and darted through the nearest gorse bush, fading back into the night like a shadow.

Juniperlight is KO’d.

Brookpaw came screaming to the rescue, pummeling the SkyClanner with her paws. Sunpaw blinked in shock, frozen for a second in the dirt. He had a sticky warmth running down his cheek, and his head throbbed, and his whole body hurt, but he climbed back up to his feet, teetering.

"Leave our Clan alone!" he spat, bringing a clawed paw down on Bumblepaw's head. There was some sense of satisfaction in downing his opponent, but the triumph soon gave way to sickening nausea.

The world spun for a moment, and he cast a look up to Brookpaw. "Th-Thanks, Brookpaw...uh, where...is Smallbean? I don't...feel so good..."

As the tom's face shifted into shock and the two stared at each other, Hayglow pleaded and begged silently that the tom would just...Leave. She was so tired, her legs were shaking from the effort from fighting but also the fear that was causing her heart to race. Finally, the tom turned and ran - disappearing from view. Since the battle had started, a sigh of relief escaped Hayglow as she stumbled backwards, ears slicking back at the sound of battle that raged on around her. She didn't want to fight - she hated the feeling of blood beneath her claws, the pain from each of her wounds, the pounding of her head from Juniperlight's final attack. ...But her Clan was still fighting, and she was called to aid them. She turned on her paws, scanning the battlefield that was their camp as she tried to figure out who to fight next although her head pounded at the effort. She wasn't sure how much more of this she could take but she...She suppose she ought to fight until she couldn't any longer. Her eyes finally settled onto one of the older members of the Clan - Deerhawk. A sigh escaped her as she threw herself into a run, ramming into the she-cat that he was tangled with.

Hayglow used Jumping Strike on Shadewing, dealing 10 (7+3 bonus damage due to Shadewing not being focused on her) and costing 7 stamina.

Smallbean followed Muddyleap out of the medicine den, only to hear his name being called out once more. This time the voice he heard was Brookpaw's. The young she-cat approached him, asking for treatment before returning to battle. Luckily, Brookpaw didn't seem to be hurt too badly. "Yeah i can patch you up, follow me." He barely finished his words before Brookpaw ran off again, saying only a few words to him as an explanation. "What- Brookpaw, be careful! You'll hurt yourself!" Why would she run up to him for help and then go back into battle, potentially injuring herself further? To Smallbean's surprise, he watched Brookpaw run back into battle alongside Sunpaw, the two almost immediately defeating an opponent. He watched the way Sunpaw moved, and could tell that both of the apprentices could use some treatment. "Brookpaw, Sunpaw, over here!" The medicine cat called out, beckoning the pair with a flick of his tail.

Once they were all inside the den, he looked them both over to see which of the apprentices needed attention first. Sunpaw seemed to have significantly more wounds, so he started with him. He looked through the stores, pulling out some poppy seeds and offering them to the younger tom. After that, he began applying cobwebs to his wounds, covering the deeper ones first. With what cobwebs he still had left in his paw, he covered the smaller scratches until he had used it all. "Alright, Sunpaw. I've done all I can until the battle is over, you can return to fighting if you're ready. Brookpaw, you're up next."

With a growl bubbling in the depths of her throat, Ivystar bared her teeth in a fierce snarl to the SkyClan leader across from her. "WindClan was deceived. If you've been dealing with Dawnhawk for so long, wouldn't you know that he's manipulative and knows how to get his way, Wolfstar? Or have you already forgotten because you're too busy holding petty grudges to worry about whether they're valid or not?" Stepping back, Ivystar began to circle around the tom, completely forgetting that Silverlight was even present between the two. "I wish I could say I'm surprised, but it's simply in your nature, hmm?" She called out, taking another step with all the fury and rage burning behind her emerald green eyes.

The shock in Ivystar's gaze was very short-lived, and just as quickly as her jaw dropped, she lifted it back up again and rolled her shoulders back, steeling every muscle in her body for what was to come. "If you manage to catch him, but obviously you're not very good at that. If he makes his way to RiverClan, we'll gladly inform him that SkyClan had their tails handed to them after irrationally attacking WindClan in search of him. I wonder how much damage he can do with the knowledge that he'd be kicking SkyClan while they're down?" Getting closer to the tom as she circled, Ivystar narrowed her eyes as she came just a taillength away from him. "No, don't fret. Unlike for you, I have more courage than a freshly-gutted fish, so I don't have to thinly veil my threats behind the guise of a morally corrupt rogue. No, I like to tackle my problems directly." Leaving no time for the tom to get in another jab, she launched herself forward and closed the distance between them, her fangs bared and aiming directly for his neck. She spared him no chances as she bit down hard, feeling the metallic, thick blood oozing into her mouth as she clamped down. For several moments she kept her fangs buried deep within the opposing leader's neck, feeling his pulse slow to a chilling stop before she finally dropped him. With crimson dripping down her chin and the fur on her chest, she looked to Silverlight with wide emerald eyes. With a flick of her tail she motioned for the tom to find another opponent- his Clanmates needed him.

Bumblepaw fell to the ground, his gasping breaths coming out as gurgles. The blood dripping from the wounds to his face stung worse than wasps did- he could hardly see with it all in his eyes, but he could see Wolfstar, his strong, steadfast leader, fall dead to the ground underneath Ivystar's feet. And for a second, just a second, the two seemed the same. Both casualties of war.

Bumblepaw hated being a casualty. He never wanted to do this again.

He knew Wolfstar would come back, yes, but the ramifications were too much for the young apprentice to handle. Wolfstar may never forgive Ivystar, or WindClan. He's now one life closer to dying for real. Bumblepaw's head was swirling.

Just before he lost consciousness, he looked up at Sunpaw's retreating back. He was so scared, just like Bumblepaw was. He didn't want to fight.

He won, but he was just as much of a casualty as Bumblepaw was.

Bumblepaw is KOed. Sunpaw and Brookpaw win.

Brookpaw led Sunpaw back over to where Smallbean was, urging him forward. He was hurt worse and would need treatment before she did. "Sorry, Smallbean, but Sunpaw was pinned down by an older looking apprentice, so I had to help him!" The rose cream she-cat explained, seeing how her actions were a bit odd.

"Be careful out there, Sunpaw!" She called over her shoulder to the younger tom, and then turned to face Smallbean. "Dayspring doesn't look so good, SkyClan's deputy did something to her leg. And Lilacstar is dead. SkyClan's medicine cat killed her. I'm going back out there and I'm gonna help Tawnyflare." Brookpaw explained. "Ashfall is helping Dayspring so she can escape, so be prepared to help her. Cloverpaw and Yarrowpaw don't look so good either, but other than that I think every cat on our side is mostly fine."

At first, the fangs that met in Wolfstar's throat were like sharp, lightning daggers of pain, but after a second, that faded. He writhed for a second within Ivystar's grasp, hind claws digging the ground, front paws scrabbling at her neck, but the claws that he intended to rake across her throat just... wouldn't extend, and instead, turned into weak, desperate, ineffective blows. His vision darkened as his chest grew wet, and eventually his weight grew too much for his paws to bear. Wolfstar crumbled, his head smacking the ground, tongue lolling, a few wet, raspy breaths escaping him before he finally grew still.

When he opened his eyes there was only darkness.

The heat of battle still thrummed within Wolfstar's veins, and as he rolled to his paws, he was ready to fight once more. His head low, still panting with exertion and tail lashing viciously, he waited... and waited...

...and waited.

But his vision never cleared. The darkness never receded. He was alone, in a grassy clearing, and a cold wind ruffled his fur the likes of which he'd never felt in StarClan. Wolfstar's eyes widened, and he lifted his head, searching the landscape for something, anything.

But there was nothing but dark, ominous, silence.

Wolfstar is dead.

The whole time he watched the leaders circle around each other and exchanged rather worrying words, the worse the tenseness in his body became. It was nearly making him fully rigid. The way Wolfstar looked at Ivystar's throat made him ill. He had qualms in finishing off the RiverClan leader. However, Silver was sure that Ivy wasn't going to go down that easily. She seemed very strong and ready to defend herself at all costs. It's why he was somewhat surprised to see Ivy rapidly lunging at Wolfstar and sinking her jaws in his neck. He couldn't turn away as he witnessed such a brute of a leader writhe and attempt to release the she-cat's vicious bite. It felt like an eternity before Wolfstar stopped moving. Ivystar had killed him and strangest to him, he didn't have a problem with it.

As she stepped away, his green eyes trailed the blood that dripped down her maw. It was a morbid scene that left him speechless yet weirdly enough, calm. It had been really cool seeing her in action actually. Wolfstar was dead for now and wouldn't be injuring anymore for probably the rest of the battle and that relieved Silverlight. The tom nearly jumped when he realized that the RiverClan leader was looking at him with wide eyes. Their eyes met and the tom understood that he was now needed elsewhere. He offered her a rather awkward lopsided smile and a firm nod. He mouthed a 'thank you' then raced away to lend his aid to someone else. Ivy just...  earnt herself an admirer.

After a small amount of time scanning the battlefield, his eyes came across the familiar pelt of his not-father father, Fawnstep. He seemed to be doing alright for now but Silver decided that a little extra help wouldn't hurt. So, he proceeded to pick up his running speed and aimed for the SkyClan she-cat. As he'd done previously, he bowled her over with his momentum, catching her off guard. Silverlight eyed Fawnstep and shot him a soft smile before turning his attention back to their opponent, claws ready to attack.

Now turning his gaze to Brookpaw, he looked her over for the worst wounds first. Like how he had done for Sunpaw, he offered her some poppy seeds. Normally he would absentmindedly respond to the chatter of apprentices while healing them, only partly paying attention to their words, but what Brookpaw said to him caused him to freeze for a moment. "D-Dayspring? Lilacstar?" Beechface? The fact that she had killed Lilacstar stunned him the most. Any respect he had for the she-cat was revoked, he now felt only resentment and fear toward her. At the beginning this war seemed like it was only a large border skirmish, but now that he heard about one of Lilacstar's lives being taken? He was terrified.

He forced himself to focus on his work and he began applying cobwebs. There was no way he would make Brookpaw panic by the way he reacted, so he tried to his his fear- whether or not it worked, he was unsure. "W-well, you're not going back out there until I'm done with you." He tried to sound stern. He pressed the cobwebs into her larger wounds, watching as the bleeding began to stop. Eventually the entire clump of cobwebs he had held in his paws was used. He gave his work one more look before letting Brookpaw know that she could return to battle if she wished.

Smallbean walked out of the den alongside Brookpaw, relief flooding over him at how little Skyclan cats remained. That, however, allowed him to see more of the camp. More of the fallen cats came into view. His eyes scanned over the cats, and he saw the pelts of Lilacstar and Spotlake, Cloverpaw and Yarrowpaw. Then he saw Dayspring, Ashfall standing between her and Bloodstrike. His eyes narrowed at Skyclan's deputy. He wanted nothing more than to go over and help Dayspring to the medicine den, he could see that her leg was broken from where he stood from across camp, but he was certain that if he went over there he would be mauled before he arrived. "Hey, Brookpaw." He said, keeping his eyes on Dayspring,  "If you see any cats who could use my help, send them over to me."

It seemed this fight was coming to a close, but Deerhawk had let down his guard prematurely. The dark she-cat's claws turned his chest and neck into a right mess. Though many of the frantic blows weren't strategically placed, they drew quite a bit of blood, enough to start dripping and scattering across the dirt as he moved. Momentarily unable to retaliate the lanky tom stepped backwards trying to regain his footing. Before his opponent could take advantage of this however, a familiar yellow pelt came and struck them down. A soft, "Aye," was all he could give in greeting. He looked to the SkyClan cat and wondered how much longer she planned to fight, as haggard-looking as she did. It was time she went home. He raised a paw, claws sheathed, and brought it across the side of her head in a hearty smack. His face tightened slightly and he retracted his paw, shaking it to dispel the painful reverberations from the heavy blow.

"I think I may... be getting a little too old for this."
