May Gathering 2020 [Sitewide Plot Finale]

A tight smile forced itself onto Wolfcall's face at Blossomstep's words, the stinging in his now-torn ear just background against the throbbing adrenaline in his veins. "Can't let you have all the fun, eh?" he huffed smoothly, moving out of the way as she went in and traded blows with the StarClan cat once more. He crouched, tail lashing as the marbled tabby turned to face him, his amber eyes narrowing at her tirade about his family. Wolfcall bared his teeth, a deep snarl echoing in his chest with every venom-dripping word that came out of her mouth. "Foxfire has more honor in one toe than you've managed your entire life," he spat. "All of my siblings do, and my father and uncle too."

The deputy prepared for the attack he was sure would come, but just as quickly as Whinchatswirl had leaped, she changed direction, going again for Blossomstep. But Wolfcall was fast, too, and as his mate stumbled, dazed, he reared up, bringing both paws down on top of the StarClanner's head with as much force as he could muster.

Blows struck his pelt over and over, blood leaking, spilling, wetting the earth between his paws. The little white apprentice bounced off his shoulder. Stembreeze paid them no mind. He couldn't die here, not really, but they could. The spunky little apprentice could die, and she would, he'd make sure of it. She was his prize, the one he would bring back to StarClan when they left - his trophy, from the war he was sure they'd win. That it was clear they were winning.

"Do YOU really think you'll walk away from this?" he barked with laughter. "No no no no no, little one, it's far too late for that. By the time we are finished with you, the clans will be nothing."

The clan cats had realized by now that the leaders could come right back. That no matter how hard they fought, they were going to lose, and the thought of that made Stembreeze positively maniacal with joy. Willowpaw's attack and subsequent insult coaxed a chuckle from him, and he locked his eyes on to hers. "You first." And then he pounced again, batting her with bloodied claws and watching her small body go limp. He stood over top of her, turned to look at the warriors and then brought his paws down heavily on the apprentice's prone form, the thud echoing in the vicinity. Rolling his shoulders, Stembreeze turned to face his remaining opponents. He was done with one apprentice - the other one was next.

Stembreeze used Rending Front Paws on Willowpaw, dealing 17 damage and costing 15 stamina. Willowpaw is KO'd.

Creeksplash hissed. These cats thought they were noble, true to their cause. But their cause was causing all of this. Their ignorance, the lenience of the leaders, it had caused this. They would all pay. And the Fourtrees would run red with blood. She could finally take vengeance on the clans, for running her and themselves. She struck out again at Ploverpuddle, biting down harshly on the opponent’s leg.

Larkflight gave a small shake of her head as she watched the others attack, with Aspenleaf lashing out at Ploverpuddle as well. Her eyes widened as she saw Brackenstar revive in the corner of her eye. And the warriors fighting so bravely, yet the odds were not in their favor. We have to finish this, and we have to do it now. A red haze enclosed her vision and she started to shake. She was aware of the fighting around her, but it didn't matter. Nothing, to her, mattered more than taking down this cat. Her pelt was searing hot, as if she were taking the blows of everyone around her. Her eyes narrowed and she charged Aspenleaf, knocking her back, hoping she wouldn't get back up. It seemed inevitable that she would, but at this point, Larkflight had to hope.

Ebonypaw turned around to a screech. Panicking, she whipped her head towards the sound. Smokepaw stumbled backwards as Brackenstar slashed at his face. Blood leaked out from his right eye. “NO!” She screeched, fearful for the apprentice. Turning back towards Aspenleaf, she snarled.

With that, she launched herself at Aspenleaf, clawing at her face.

Willowpaw reacted too late, and as Stembreeze clawed at her face, she stumbled back, and collapsed. She couldn’t move. Her whole body hurt. She blinked, the world spinning around her. Blood gushed out of her throat, her muzzle was stained with blood. The next thing she knew, Stembreeze slammed his paws on her head, and her world spun into a void of black...

Silence. Pain. Exhaustion. That was all she felt. Is this what dying feels like?She thought, even though she knew that she was. Ah. I’m dying. Fun. Her thoughts flashed towards Moonpaw, towards Blizzardpaw, towards Sunpaw...towards Dawngaze. She couldn’t take it. The pain was unbearable. Willowpaw struggled to breathe, her chest rising and falling. Just barely.

OOC: Willowpaw is KO’d. For other cats it seems like she’s dead, until a medicine cat checks on her. She will be sleeping for a few days, like a short coma.

Mossbloom darted away from the ShadowClan she-cat she had just healed to move to one of the other's clanmates, and quickly set to work doing what she could. "I'm sorry I don't have time to do more. Aspenheart and Mothglow are somewhere over there, they can help patch you up more." She mewed quickly, gesturing in the direction she had last seen her fellow medicine cats.

In a moment, Dappleshine was being flung around. Her memories flashed to the dogs she had fought in the mountains after returning from the lake as an apprentice, and as a hind paw hit against the ground she could feel the pain coursing through it. Well, that paw was at least sprained. Why was she fighting again? Dacedream was already dead, and gone, what point was there for her to fight? Torrentstar and Thornstar, too. Her kits, all of them, gone. Nothing could bring them back.... So why was she fighting so hard now? Wouldn't it be easier to just give up? Finally, the teeth left her scruff and threw her to the ground, dazed and dizzy. She attempted to lift her head, but the last half moon of sickness and heartache was too much for the queen to bear in the moment. Blue eyes opened to land on Raventail, where he fought several fox-lengths away against another of the starry leaders. Would he be okay if she just gave up?

The flash of claws caught her by surprise, she had thought the starry cat would turn on ThunderClan's deputy before lashing out. Her ears rang from the hit, and she shook her head, dazed momentarily. The words of the starry cat barely came through, but she knew that she had one thing right... She would die again her tonight. "We owe you and your kin no favors. I've lost family as well, and that's no excuse to act in the manner you have!"

Huffing at her mate's response, she shook her head in exasperation. The she-cat they were fighting started to go on and on about various clanmates, mostly those related to her mate, and her anger grew as she called out Honeypaw specifically. "How dare you! All of those cats have more sense and loyalty than in a single hair on your pelt you.... You water-drenched sparrow! Honeypaw has spent nearly the last moon taking care of everyone and Sagelight while he's been sick, for a StarClan cat your head seems to be awfully empty!" Her anger had allowed an opportunity though, and she hissed as the she-cat jumped on top of her. Her eyes met Wolfcall's, and she swallowed hard, tasting blood as she looked away. Was this the end?

Finally, finally, Galestar felt a breakthrough. Taking a deep breath, she pushed harder against the resistances the others had put up, feeling it begin to crack and give under the pressure she was putting it under. It had been a long, hard fight to build it, and so far it was proving to be one to undo it, especially alone.... However, the yowls and sounds of battle around her, the flash of bright red blood over there, the glint of sharp claws on the other side, pushed her to keep working against it. A gap in the clouds allowed moonlight to pool over and around her, a thin ray of hope. As she felt, more than heard or saw, Brackenstar rise, she gave one final mental push against the barrier, and it went crumbling down. The gap in the clouds grew significantly as stars began to glisten around her, and she stumbled, ears flat against her head as she turned to the fray, her mission complete. Her eyes met Zinnia's, then turned to Downpaw's. "Come, my task is done. It will only take a few moments more, but they are on their way. I think we're past due our time to fight." Her eyes flashed as she turned towards Badgerstar where he fought the newest leader of WindClan and an apprentice, and she leapt towards him with outstretched claws.

"Yes, Badgerstar, why don't you fight someone your own size?" Galestar growled, her eyes narrowed as she glared at the tom. "It's over."

As soon as he was able to break through the barrier that separated the forest and Starclan territory, he did. The large black leader stepped on the ground he never thought he would step on again. His yellow eyes scanning the clearing looking for a certain target that he wanted to sink his claws into. As much as he wanted to see his son, Owlstar had to pay. The so called Skyclan leader had done too much to the forest and his old clan. Making them make a choice between the rest of the forest and their own lives? Oh he would pay. Once he found Owlstar the large black leader charged the tom.

A soft airly laugh filled the clearing as starlight condensed and the shape of a she-cat took shape. Her golden pelt didn't hide the blazing stars that lined her form, her blue eyes as clear as ever. It had been countless moons since Lionspark had last graced this clearing, happy to see it despite the bloodshed that had happened. Her eyes scanned the clearing, his smile fading slightly at the sight of the unmoving bodies of the leaders, her eyes falling onto the one that was closest to her. "Oh brave Flintstar," she cooed as she stepped forward, dipping her head in greeting to the medicine cat that laid curled at his side. "You've fought so valiantly to protect your family, but the battle is not over yet..." she murmured, leaning down to touch her nose to the still leader's forehead.

The stars in her pelt flashed, glowing brightly for a second before they dimmed. The golden she-cat stepped back, gaze meeting Mothglow's. She felt such sympthy for the she-cat, it was never easy to see one loved ones die and the medicine cat had already lost so much in this crusade set forth by The Righteous Few. "Greetings, I am Lionspark of StarClan. We are sorry for what The Righteous Few have done in our stead and we are here to help. The heartache that has happened...Shouldn't have. But there are some things we can do to make it right," she noted, swishing her tail in the direction of the fallen leader's corpse. "Such as this."

Flintstar's body had grown cold, his paws splayed out from where he had been laid by Mothglow. There was a gentle wind that ruffled his pelt and his wound had stopped pouring blood, but the darken crimson was starting to dry. At the touch of Lionspark's nose, there was a shockwave of warmth that tugged at his muscles. He remained unnaturally still as Lionspark stepped backwards and spoke...But then in the silence following her words, a suddenly gasp filled the air...Followed by hacking coughing as breath suddenly returned to the ShadowClan's leader body. Blood spat from his mouth as he struggled to clear his throat from the blood that had filled it with the deadly blow, eyes blinking as they tried to take in his surroundings.

With some effort, Flintstar rolled onto his stomach and raised his head to stare at the StarClan cat that stood a tail-length away from him. "What..." he gasped, his voice dry as he glanced around. He...He wasn't where he had been struck down. No, he had been moved. His eyes fell onto Mothglow, blinking as his ears slicked back slightly. "Mothglow, I'm..." he winced slightly, suddenly lost for words. He...He had felt such guilt in his final moments, leaving them behind like Thornstar had. He had wanted to protect them but had put them through the pain he had wanted to protect himself against. His eyes suddenly widened as he struggled to get his paws beneath him, suddenly realizing that his siblings had to still be fighting and could be in danger still.

Flintstar used Resurrection. Flintstar has lost a life but is revived with 60 HP.

"Come now, Flintstar," Lionspark cooed, smiling brightly at the leader as he paused to stare at her again. "The Righteous Few cannot hold you down any longer. We have a fight to win - to protect our loved ones. StarClan is with you, as we always should have been," she called before she turned and darted away. Despite the fact that it had been moons since she had last walked in the forest, she still had at least one person that knew of her presence. And while she wanted to go help Dustcloud, she knew the battle that the she-cat was in wasn't something for her to take part in...But there had been one cat that she had despised while she watched helplessly - the cat who threatened to destroy her beloved Clan. The cat who had torn Dustcloud's love away from her. With a yowl, she threw herself at Badgerstar, raking her claws against his star-speckled form before she backed off. She didn't move far before she she dropped into a battle stance, tail lashing as she grinned at Badgerstar. "Hey there, Badgerstar. You shouldn't have dared touch Dustcloud or her loved ones. If you thought she was a good warrior...Well, she learned how to fight from me. I'll be happy to give you a lesson or two as kick your flank," she purred with a wink.

Flintstar stood there, flabbergasted as he watched StarClan cats start to flood the scene and go to the aid of his Clanmates, to the living. They...They were going to win, they had to now that StarClan was apparently on their side once more. He sighed softly before he paused, turning to look at Mothglow. "I-I'm here, Mothglow. I came back," he murmured, almost the barest hints of a smile on his face. He couldn't have imagined what she had been through, memories - although they weren't quite...Memories - of watching her carry his body here and mourn him. They were foggy, confusing. He remembered a she-cat's voice, not of the golden she-cat that had apparently brought him back but...Barely familiar, a voice he had heard once. He was certain if he put more thought into it, he could draw forth the memories but there was little time to dwell on it in a moment like this. "I...I am sure you will have words for me, afterwards. But...I might go. I must fight and drive them back...But I swear, I will be back, sister. All of you, I will lead you home victorious. I promise," he said, hesitating for a brief moment before he stepped forward to touch his muzzle to Mothglow's forehead. It didn't last long, taking an awkward step backwards before he turned and raced back into the combat.

After all, he had promised to use all of his lives to defend ShadowClan. He had seemingly lost one, but he now had to fight.

He scanned the combat, trying to pick out the form of his family that was still fighting. He had to make sure that they were okay, he had last seen Viperpaw fighting Brackenstar and he hadn't seen Sparkfire at all....His eyes fell upon a familiar pelt, his breath catching in his throat at the sight of Freckleface in combat with the tom who had tried to turn SkyClan against them. He...Slowly, before the thought had truly entered his mind, his paws were in movement and the tom was quickly gaining speed as he headed toward the fight. Freckleface, he had to protect Freckleface. He....She meant so much to him and there was so many things that they had to talk about, to...To work out. He wanted to make them work even if they did not understand each other, he...He loved her even if it wasn't how she loved him. He had left her alone for so much of this battle, he would end it by her side. With a grunt, he lowered his shoulder and rammed into Owlstar's side. He quickly back stepped, raising his claws and bringing them down the leader's pelt before he stepped to Freckleface's side...Although he lowered his head in the hopes of hiding his blood-stained throat from her. He...he didn't want to worry her. He would be fine, they had bigger matters to attend to such as wining this battle.

Daisybloom laid by her father side, tears still streaming. She couldn’t find her mentor, Mossbloom was lost in the haze of the battle. She didn’t call out for her again, she just sat there. Soon, something happened. More cats arrived. Daisybloom thought they were Righteous Few. They would surely destroy the clans now! But no, they struck out against the Righteous Few. She realized they were the true Starclan! It was her first time seeing them as a median cat apprentice, and they were glorious!

He wanted to help his littermates, but he didn't see them, and he lunged at the first cat he found. "You scum." was all he said. He ignored the cats already fighting and reared up on his hind legs, crashing down onto his opponent. His paws struck her head, hard, and he stepped back with a nod to the others. "I'm Breezepaw." He narrowed his eyes at Whinchatswirl. And you are about to die.

In the darkness of night, a glittering of stars bursts to reveal a smoke-pointed tom...

Scorchfrost sighed, stretching his legs. He was not one for politics. He did not like to meddle. He enjoyed to watch, as the forest changed with every season, and as they fought their own battles without interference from the stars. But Scorchfrost was also a cat of virtue. He had seen this war before. He had been on the wrong side of it. The Righteous Few had waged a war in the constellations. This was not for the forest alone. It felt good to be back on the ground.

The tom sprinted towards a target, catching the tail end of his silly little speech, slicing his claws through the cat's starry form and letting out a hmph as he crumpled to the dirt.

"You have a very funny idea of what ThunderClan used to be," he purred. "The ThunderClan I lived in could solve their own problems, without StarClan telling them one way or another. Be gone, fiend. When the lot of you are banished, send my father my regards. You remind me of him."

He turned to address the cats around him. "I'm sorry this was brought upon you. Galestar has released us. You won't fight alone. End this."

Sparkfire twitched her ears when she heard a familiar voice, and she turned around to see Flintstar battling Owlstar. She sighed in relief. Her brother was okay. She turned back to Ravenmist. ”I’m going back to fight. I’ll see you again when all of this is over. Stay safe.”

Turning back, she prepared to charge in to her brother’s aid, but a familiar voice cut through the air. She turned and stared flabbergasted at Brackenstar as he stood tall and proud. ”Oh, you have got to be kidding me....” Narrowing her eyes at her opponent, she rushed in and leaped at the Righteous Few member, extending her legs to kick the starry cat. ”Stay down!”

Sparkfire used Back Kick on Brackenstar, dealing 13 damage and costing 15 stamina.

Night Finesse is in affect, dealing an additional +2.

Aggressive Buff is in affect, reducing stamina consumption by -6.

Barleytuft had been waiting, shoulders tense and claws flexing. He was angry with Galestar, but she could not be the source of his fury - not anymore. She had begun the terrifying cascade which had nearly cost both of them the Clan that they loved, instigating the rift between Softpaw and Aspenheart and then destroying the fearless, reckless leader Finchstar with a touch of her nose. She regretted her choices now, but Barleytuft gritted his teeth against the sorry excuse. "Sorry" didn't return lives. "Sorry" didn't return mothers to their kits. In this case, the only thing that "sorry" accomplished was to prevent the certain destruction of the remaining cats in the forest. That wasn't enough to diminish his disgust at her treachery completely, but it was enough to place it elsewhere for now. There was a ripple in the curtain between life and death; a promising shimmer in the veil of Silverpelt.

And then they were through.

There was a surge of cats around him, materializing into the clearing of Fourtrees. The fresh air of life in physical lungs was such a recent memory, yet it was so strange and electrifying compared to the stillness of StarClan. The pale cream tabby warrior's paws touched down, dark hazel eyes glinting with fire. Barleytuft looked much like he did in life; his left ear was tipped and torn; talon scars from an attacking eagle glinted on his shoulders; a snarl of scars stretch over his muzzle, neck, and chest from the beast-cats; however, his fur was untouched by silver except for the shimmering of stars that adorned his tabby pelt. His eyes focused on a target and he charged into the fray. Thoughts of seeing his kin and Clan fueled his blows; he would see them as soon as he knew they were no longer threatened.

Barleytuft found himself fighting alongside Ploverpuddle, a tom who had been struck with the plague for the circumstances of his birth. He had watched the tom and knew how much he meant to his son, Clovertwist, and he would offer his strength to help. He slammed into the Righteous One, Creeksplash, and dislodged her grip, freeing Ploverpuddle from her grasp. He snarled, "You are no longer Clan cats, you're rogues and flea-dirt!" His striped tail lashed.

Barleytuft used Breaking Strike on Creeksplash, using 20 stamina and dealing 8 damage. Ploverpuddle is released from the grip.

Downpaw nodded to Galestar, looking at Zinnia. "Come on, it looks like Raventail's in trouble!" He hissed, running neck to neck with Galestar. Clearly, she maintained the speed she'd had in life. "This is for all the lives you've stolen, for all the lives you've ruined! This is how we rise up, it's our resistance, you can't resist us!" He yowled, words rolling off his tongue with ease, repeating the phrase that had spread like wildfire once murmured. A grin graced his maw.

"I'm going to enjoy shredding you to bits." Quick as lightning, he clawed him, not wasting a heartbeat before going back in and aiming an unsheathed paw across his sensitive belly fur. Oh, that had to have hurt.

DOWNPAW used Swift Strike on BADGERSTAR, dealing TWO DAMAGE. DOWNPAW can ATTACK again! DOWNPAW used Belly Rake on BADGERSTAR, dealing SEVEN DAMAGE. In TOTAL, it COST FOURTEEN SP and dealt NINE DAMAGE.

She leaped towards Redwolf, claws unsheathed, but suddenly, sharp talons pierced her neck and her eyes widened, dropping to the ground. Blood pulsed from her wounds, and her eyes glazed. Gotta grab it, make a habit, gotta go nonstop. It's gonna feel so right when we reach the top. It's where we both belong, won't let it pass by.

The last thing Ivylight saw, was her leader Badgerstar. She was fading, but they had won. Her death meant nothing in the long run. "I pledged my loyalty to you, and I fulfilled that vow, Badgerstar. Thank you for leading us." She murmured, finding relief in death. She'd fought for so long, protected her Clan for even longer. The new generations would hear of the Righteous Few's sacrifices, and perhaps they'd learn to rebel against authority as well. The thought calmed her. She'd fulfilled the promise she'd made oh-so many years ago, her spirit was light and airy. "I'll wait for you, Badgerstar, forever." And with that, she was gone.
