Esquisse of Violence [WAR] // Lionize

Daisyflame was quick on his feet, hastily throwing Leaftwirl off-guard in her hazy state. The tom slipped under her with all the menace and speed of an infamous ShadowClan cat, claws tearing ribbons in her exposed flesh. "Ack!" She spat, feeling an overwhelming pain overtake her. Leaftwirl had fought dogs before. She had tumbled with large RiverClan warriors. Why now did this tom outmatch her? An urge to fight, to draw blood sang in her mind. Leaftwirl thought of Wolffang and Tigerleaf, and although she did not live her life for them, she hoped in this moment they were watching.

All of life's trials seemed to align, and Leaftwirl slashed with all the anger she held towards her fate. Daisyflame was symbolic of her trials, of Tigerleaf's death, of Sunflower's convenience. In her movements, she felt free. Leaftwirl had completed her journey but now fought for her past as well. She'd take it all with her into the unknown. Slash after slash was thrown at Daisyflame's face, tearing streaks of crimson into his muzzle. She hissed with the force of a lion and cried at the memories of all that had wronged her. She shouldn't have been there to witness Stormstrike's death. She shouldn't have had to watch her friends die to dogs. She shouldn't have had to say goodbye to her mother's missing body. And she should have never been the only survivor of her siblings. "This is what I think of you foxheart!!" Leaftwirl yowled, but her words were not meant for Daisyflame.

She fell back onto her paws in a daze, eyes glazed and frame tired. Something clicked in her mind and Leaftwirl held Daisyflame as he tumbled over from the wounds. She did not wish her fate away, no. She would not be the cat she was today without it. But her past needed to know that future Leaftwirl was strong, and that her memories and fears; while cherished, would answer to her claws. Cradling her metaphorical pain on her chest, Leaftwirl rocked the orange and white tom back and forth, numbing her own wounds in his. "Thank you." She whispered to her fate, closing her eyes, ready.

Leaftwirl used Rear-up to Slash on Daisyflame, dealing 11 damage and costing 15 stamina.

Letting out a screech of pain as his face was pummeled by her claws, Daisyflame stumbled backwards. He didn't think too much of her hateful words, seeing as though everyone felt strongly on their own opinions, and quite frankly, what she'd said was the last thing on his mind at the moment. His face stung as if a thousand fire ants had found their way into his nest and as blood poured down his muzzle, he knew he needed to act fast if he was to be victorious in his battle.

Lunging forward, Daisyflame snapped his jaws at her shoulder in hopes of dealing a good some of damage, but Leaftwirl, made a sudden, life-altering move, literally.

Instead of grabbing hold of the she-cat's shoulder, Daisyflame's jaws had found their way to her neck. Warm, bitter blood oozed into his maw and for the next few moments, the only thing his ears heard was the awful gurgling sound that came, followed by one last gasp for air and then... silence.

Dropping his opponent to the ground, his white jowls stained with blood, the ShadowClanner was speechless. Taking a step back, he stood still, his amber gaze wide with horror at what he'd just done. "I... I'm so sorry," he choked. Though wise with age, the tom hadn't had to take many lives in his lifetime, and though this was a battle, he'd never meant to, nor thought he'd take a life; but here he was with blood that would forever be on his paws.

'StarClan, please forgive me.' he silently prayed, stepping away from the bloodied she-cat. SkyClanner or not, this she-cat still had kits and a family, and he hoped that her death would not be in vain. 'May StarClan light your path.' he thought to himself, trying to contain himself from seeming visibly shaken. He needed to keep on fighting... for ShadowClan.

The tom was a bit confused by the she-cat's shake but what truly distracted him was suddenly scenting so much blood. His face turned and even in his dizzyness... he could recognize that white and orange pattern. His green eyes opened shocked... yet... with admiration. Somehow, Daisyflame just managed to quickly end a fight. That was the strength the clan needed more than ever! That was Shadowclan was made for! Now, the senior tom was free to fight yet... he seemed shaken. Did he... kill her? Was that... his first kill? It didn't matter. Shadowclan needed his energy, his strength! He had to fight! "Daisyflame! It was an accident but you need to keep going! Your clanmates need that fight in you! Go and save before it is too late!" He shouted, knowing he would not last long... but Daisyflame would. He had to be that cat right. Even with his sacrifice... he had to help others.

Lynxscar is stunned.

Snapping his head to see Lynxscar under some she-cat, Daisyflame listened to his words. From how he put it, such a kill was okay in the deputies book... but he did agree that he needed to keep on fighting. Shaking his head to rid himself of such thoughts, the older tom gave Lynxscar a firm nod and ran off. He would've helped him, but the deputy was a strong can and could handle himself, he was sure of it.

Scanning the clearing, Daisyflame spotted Lightpaw who seemed to be in a bit of trouble, and decided he'd help the young apprentice. Racing forward, the large tom stood up on his hind legs and slashed wildly before coming back down and jumping back.

"Are you alright?" he huffed, turning his gaze to Lightpaw. He didn't expect a reply, seeing as though the apprentice would have a chance to attack if he acted quickly, but it was the gesture that counted.

Daisyflame used Rear Up to Slash, causing 14 damage and costing 15 stamina. +2 damage with Night Finesse.

Lightpaw had no reply- No good comebacks at the time. She found it was starting to get hard to breathe under the weight of the warrior. Then, she was freed. By who? She leapt to her paws, shaking out her fur and taking in the air. Daisyflame. She nodded in acknowledgement and thanks before attacking the Skyclanner's belly fur with as much energy as she had in the first place.

Lightpaw used Belly Rake, dealing (7+2) damage and using 10 stamina! Flowerthorn has been KO'd!

This time, Salamander was able to suppress the hiss of pain he so desperately wanted to voice. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a brown-clad warrior fall, but he was too focused on getting out of his situation to comment. But try as he might, he still couldn't find a way out of the lockhold.

Growling, Beanpaw let go of Salamanderpaw and pushed off of him with his back legs, grunting as his forepaws hit the ground. He was several tail lengths away from the tom, and he saw an opportunity to use something Tinystar had taught him. Hissing as the new wounds on his side stretched with his effort, he ran towards his opponent and slid onto his back, unsheathing his claws and slashing at the soft skin.

Beanpaw used Belly Rake on Salamanderpaw, using -10 Stamina Points and dealing -7 Stamina Points.

Grunting as the ShadowClan tom tore into her fur once again, Dustcloud turned around to face him. That was it. Whether she liked it or not, this tom was her enemy, and he'd had his chance to run. Running towards him, she gripped his scruff as if he were a kit in the nursery. Using her front paws, she clawed at his chest and shoulder, sending fur flying.

Dustcloud used Teeth Grip on Marshcloud, using -20 Stamina Points and dealing -13 Health Points. Marshcloud is stunned for 2 turns.

Flowerthorn wasn't expecting the warrior's attacked. She felt the tom's claws in her fur and her skin, the damage making her feel like she was on fire for a moment, but she couldn't let it distract from her current opponent. As soon as she saw the apprentice coming in she swiftly moved away narrowly avoiding the claws that Lightpaw had pointed to her stomach.

Glad that they'd driven off another one of the ThunderClanners, Daisyflame scanned the area once more and decided to go back to Lynxscar, and hopefully be of some help to the pinned tom. Racing forward, the large tom stood up on his hind legs and slashed wildly before coming back down and jumping back. "Quick! Get up!" he hissed to the deputy. Surely he was able to get out of the she-cat's grip? Maybe he was just saving his strength for later?

Ferretnose gasped as a SkyClanner's body dropped to the ground, defeated for the last time. The tom who tore her throat seemed just as startled. Ferretnose looked back to Lynxscar, then back to Daisyflame. The poor tom seemed near tears, and here lay his deputy, egging him on! The blood of a SkyClanner lay on his paws, after all she had done to defend her clan. She imagined Harefoot's blood on his maw. With a roar of pain and empathy a cat she could not have known, she brought two paws down on Lynxscar's face, slashing at his eyes. "You did this!" she screamed, tears prickling her eyes. "This! Is! Your! Faul-!"

Physical pain came next, chopping off her tirade, searing her side as the same ginger-and-white tom sliced into her flank. She panted as she regained her footing. She was losing speed, losing it fast. Where was Dustcloud? Where was Beartooth? Where was Oakstar? She looked once more at the new attacker, a softness blending into her fury. A clanmate defending a clanmate, as Ferretnose would have done. He was not the cause of this, merely a symptom. Could he be reasoned with? "How do you not see?" she pleaded with him. "Your deputy caused this war by attacking Foxfire unprompted! We weren't going to do anything to you! I know you didn't mean to kill her, please, listen to me!"

Ferretnose used Front Paws Strike on Lynxscar, costing 25 stamina and dealing 14 damage.
