Before he was able to seek out an opponent to attack, some-cat fell atop him from above, their sharp claws quickly finding their way and raking into his sides. Letting out a screech of fury, the large tom's paws found leverage underneath him and he pushed the she-cat off, sending her rolling sideways. Great Silverpelt, he'd completely forgotten to keep his guard up and failed to remember that some of the SkyClanner's would use the trees to their advantage, but he was glad that he'd been able to recover so quickly.

Sniffing the air as an odd scent caught his attention, this she-cat didn't smell as strongly of SkyClan... so why was she here? She was the cat who'd given birth during one of the gatherings, yet she smelt nothing of her clan? Shaking away the thoughts, this was no time to dwell on such questions. Right now, he had to fight her, not wonder who she really was.

Leaping forward, Daisyflame grabbed hold of her neck scruff and shook violently in hopes of dazing her for at least a short while.

Keeping a tight grip with his front left claws, Beanpaw used his right forepaw to shred at Salamanderpaw's shoulder. He wished he'd been like the rest of the apprentices, asked to stay far, far away from all of this- he was the older, however, and he was strong, even if he was only an apprentice. Now, he had to pin down a poor tom who probably didn't deserve what he was getting, which was far from okay in Beanpaw's book.

Beanpaw continued to use Leap-and-Hold, dealing -6 Health Points. Salamanderpaw is stunned for another turn.

Crimson pooled in her mouth as Daisyflame outmaneuvered her. Leaftwirl was rolled over, scruff caught in his jaws as the tom shook hard. Her vision became blurry, and her breath caught in her throat. The warrior began to question what she was doing here. Her eyes had saw the war, her ears had heard the screams. And her drive, her loyalty had brought her claws crashing down. Part of her SkyClan blood would never leave her, allegiances aside. She may be free, but she was a warrior by choice. And her clan was in trouble. The she-cat rolled to the ground and gasped desperately for air, and a clear head. The blurry form of Daisyflame only inched closer, but her eyes were elsewhere. Sunflower tussled with a dark warrior, Spottedstar roared with the force of a lion. Pride for her clan rushed through her bones, and reminded her keenly of her parting with Sunflower.

She was no longer a SkyClan member, no. But she still loved the land that raised her. She still remembered the faces that used to share a den with her presence. No, she didn't wish to continue what they once had, but she wished them the best, and would fight to ensure it. For both Sunflower and SkyClan. They were no longer mates, but they shared history. And in those laughable moments in the snow, she smiled. She would surrender the present, but their past would not be sullied. She fought for nostalgia, for Arno, for everything that had raised her. Finding her paws, Leaftwirl rebounded quickly, shooting Daisyflame with a menacing glare. "It'll take more then that to end me, coward."

Leaftwirl is no longer stunned.

A pained howl escaped Spottedstar's jaws, but it had been covered by the shrieks and yowls of cats around them crashing into one another. A full-on battle had broken out between the clans, and even though the SkyClan leader had expected treachery from ShadowClan, he was still shocked when he saw Lynxscar dart at Foxfire with his claws flashing in the dim moonlight. "Liars! Betrayers! I knew it!" He yowled, rage and repulsion flooding him. That was why Oakstar was present - Oakstar, rolling in a flurry of claws and teeth with a ShadowClan warrior, Asterstrike he thought - not to fight because Spottedstar asked him to, but to scare Lynxscar enough to obey for one night. But if Thornstar couldn't keep him under command, asking Oakstar to help was worthless. He was surprised and yet not surprised at the same time. SkyClan was vindicated, justified; ShadowClan had just proved by accident that they were the cause of all the bloodshed, especially with their deputy's primal bloodthirst. And so the war officially began.

Spottedstar's panicked gaze traced the clearing, jumping from fight to fight and identifying who was locked with who: Foxfire was already retreating, bleeding heavily, filled with fear; Oakstar tumbled with Asterstrike; ThunderClan's many-clawed deputy sent shockwaves of pain through another ShadowClan warrior with frightening power - Poppyheart? Ravenmist, named by Lynxscar earlier, lay at the mercy of a ThunderClan she-cat. Lynxscar took exception to that and raged into a new fight. Sunflower was struck by a ShadowClan savage, clawing at his back, and Flowerthorn held down a weakened apprentice who had struck her first. Where was Beanpaw? There was too much movement in the dark for him to find all of his clanmates.

Thornstar's loud command caught his attention, and he stared back at her. If this wasn't what she'd wanted, why had the last moon been so tumultuous? Where was all of this aggression coming from? Actually, that question was easy to answer. The real question was if Thornstar would enforce her power over Lynxscar or keep letting him trample her will. She looked down at him, at the battle, and then back to him. She was frustrated. For only mere heartbeat, he empathized with her frustration and disappointment at the chaos - they were both trying to prevent this from happening and both had failed miserably. But it had happened anyway and now it had to go on. Spottedstar's head still swam, or otherwise he'd take advantage of her indecision to tear at her throat. Neither leader could stop this unwanted battle. If Spottedstar turned his back on Thornstar, he was dead. If he called for a retreat, ShadowClan would continue to trespass, to maim, to inflict terror. He couldn't allow it. He'd have to end this somehow. Disjointed, confused prayers echoed in his mind but the meaning went modstly unrecognized in his adrenaline-controlled state.

With great reluctance, Marshcloud spun around and aimed his back legs at Dustcloud’s stomach. As soon as he felt claw connect with fur, he winced, as if he had been the one who was attacked and not the one doing the attacking. He had never felt worse about anything in his life. All he wanted was for this battle to be over, for everyone to just walk away and for no one else to be hurt.

The warrior just laughed at the she-cat's bold yet dumb words. He approached her slowly and looked down to her, with fire behind his green eyes. "A coward, you say? How could I be a coward when I'm the only one willing to what it takes to bring my clan to greatness! I won't let any clan... nor Skyclan, nor Thunderclan, to step all over us again... Even if we lose tonight, I know your clan will mess up... and I'll be there to make sure to make all of you pay to ever come in the way of Shadowcln!" Yowling, the tom reared up on his hind legs and slashed the half-blind she-cat.

Sparkfire hissed in frustration when the tom managed to wriggle himself free from her grasp. As soon as he lifted his head, however, she reared up on her hind legs and slashed out hard with her claws at his muzzle, striking him and drawing a bit of blood.

The moment he regained his full balance, he crashed into Asterstrike’s paler fur. His teeth dug deep into the younger tom’s scruff as he gave him several hard yanks in different directions to disorient him. Blood welled around the wound, but it wasn’t terribly deep or dangerous for the scruff as he let the dazed tom go.

"Let’s get one thing straight. You do not get to question my loyalty when you and your warriors can’t even listen to your leader." He growled, amber eyes blazing. His large dark bulk loomed in the night as he stood firm in front of the stunned tom. "Revenge is a petty and useless thing that breeds only more hate and bloodshed. Every Clan should be working towards peace, so we can prevent war torn families and bloodshed. I came to mediate, to ensure that each side got to speak. I offered a trial for justice to Thornstar just a moment ago." He shoved his paws into Asterstrike’s chest, claws digging in slightly as he loomed in. "I am more of a warrior than you or Lynxscar will ever be. I didn’t leave ShadowClan by choice, but I gained so much more. Respect, good warriors, friends and family. Perhaps, young tom, you need to think."

With his opponent dazed, Beartooth found his blows easy to land. The russet warrior would not be escaping his grasp easily. No more would this rage-fueled creature slash his claws on cats of Skyclan or Thunderclan. Once again, he reared and battered Poppyheart's head to further create confusion.

Ferretnose laughed mockingly, the sound abruptly stopped as Lynxscar tossed her aside. She was quick to spring to her paws. "You don't know anything!" she hissed in a nearly motherly fashion, like a queen scolding her kits, "You've still got your kitten-fluff, and for whatever reason you're wasting your time on war!" Ducking around Lynxscar's right side, she jumped across his back and grabbed his scruff, tossing him and slamming his head into the ground. "I'm at least nine seasons your senior, and you can't see when you've been beat. If you're so tough, why don't you get up and show me?" She stood above the tom's head, feeling a delightful rush as she enjoyed the thrill of a battle for the first time. It was mean, but he was meaner. It was tricky, but he had tricked them all. To make a fool of ThunderClan, you had to have a little more bite for your bark. Ferretnose wasn't taking it lying down.

Letting out a yowl of pain, Sunflower was quick to fight back. Wheeling around, the abnormally tall tom kicked out his long hind legs and slashed at the she-cat's exposed underbelly. His heart raced and blood was pumping, and the only thoughts his mind could produce were 'don't die, don't die'.

Letting out a hiss as she made such a remark, he almost wanted to come back with the fact that he wasn't looking to end her, but be kept quiet. Never chat with the enemy, he reminded himself, keeping quiet as they locked gazes. Lunging forward, the tom spun around and kicking out with his hind paws, he clawed at her underbelly, feeling as his claws caught skin.
