Esquisse of Violence [WAR] // Lionize

In what felt like both an instant and an hour, two blurry pelts leapt upon each other in a brawl of leaders. She watched with anticipation and discomfort as they tumbled. As every eye was turned upon Spottedstar and Thornstar, ShadowClan's young deputy leaped on Foxfire. Ferretnose gasped in a terrible sound of disbelief. "You savage beast!" she shrieked, unsheathing her claws in surprise.  "Somebody stop him!"

Both sides exploded in howling and spitting as they charged each other. Ferretnose's front paws sputtered for only a moment before she leaped into action. Logically, she only had one option: she had to catch a ShadowClan cat before one caught her. Bitterness drove her paws forward, anger propelling her towards the clan that had fostered Lynxscar's scheming nature. This was not their battle to fight!

A black and grey she-cat with pale blue eyes stood on the ShadowClan side of the fray. It was with a pang of guilt that Ferretnose realized this she-cat probably couldn't see her coming, judging by the harsh scores across her face. Nevertheless, she had to get the fighting over with. There were other cats to help. She barreled into the ShadowClan cat, who she assumed must be the Ravenmist the deputy spoke of based on her pelt, with a grunt of effort. Her opponent's marsh-scent was musty on her tongue as she grabbed a scrap of fur and began clambering across the blind warrior's back.  "I'm sorry," she grumbled as she struggled against the ShadowClanner,  "I don't really even know what this is all about. But there are rules, and your deputy just broke them!"

Ferretnose used Leap-and-Hold on Ravenmist, dealing 13 damage and costing 10 stamina. It works for 2 turns.

Foxfire felt his pelt burn under the intense gaze of the ShadowClan deputy, rather uncertain to believe the whole apology on not meaning to offend him - he remembered his sharp words at the Gathering. "No, I don't see my attacker among your cats, but I was a bit distracted trying to survive than to get a good look," he retorted, before glancing up as Thornstar ordered silence and started to speak. He listened quietly to her words, following the direction that she pointed with toward her tail. Beanpaw? He had always felt pity for the poor apprentice - he was a good deal older than Foxfire but had never gotten a chance to gain his warrior name yet, something that the deputy had hoping to amend soon but all of the recent troubles made it hard to focus on the training of the older cat. He had nearly killed Thornstar's son? A pit of terror started to grow in his stomach, suddenly understanding the reason of this fight so much more. The wrath of a mother...

His gaze flickered up as the leaders exchanged words, Spottedstar arguing that ShadowClan was as much at fault in this whole situation while Oakstar attempted to ease the tension...He was relieved to have the other leader here, even if he was certain it wasn't helping them gain points in ShadowClan's favor. To have someone here on neutral ground - to see the point of both. He could only pray that the leader's words would make sense but a soft whisper from Thornstar - an agreement of the duel, proved that it was too late for that...And then she leap. He watched in terror as the large she-cat barreled over his leader, grabbing his scuff and shaking him around like he was a kit. His paws ached to jump in, to stop it but he couldn't - the two had agreed and he wasn't going to make things worst. Besides...They both were blessed by StarClan, and if the night turned out tragic - he only prayed that either leader would lose one life if that was how things went.

Distracted, he barely heard the pounding of paws, steady growing louder, that caused his attention to flicker in confusion... Only to see the fur-fluffed form of Lynxscar leaping at him. "What are you...?" was all he managed to get out before claws sank into his side, sending him crashing to the ground.

And with that, chaos was unleashed.

By the time he managed to recollect himself on the ground, pinned by the heavy paws of the terrifyingly large tom... A quick glance around told him that other cats had broken rank in anger of the sudden, uncalled for action...And so suddenly the leaders weren't the only cats in a brawl . No...No! This isn't what he wanted - he didn't want them to fight! There wasn't need for anymore bloodshed, he couldn't see them hurt! He struggled to free himself, before anger overtook him and his gaze snapped to meet Lynxscar. "What are you doing?!?" he cried, only for fear to leap in to his throat as he felt teeth sink into his scruff, being violently shaken before thrown to the ground. He rolled, barely managing to catch himself from coming to a stop on his back. He struggled to get to his feet, glancing around in terror and heartbreak as violence broke out among them.

Foxfire is no longer stunned.

Flowerthorn let out a loud growl as soon as the enemy was on her deputy. She moved forward to attack the scarred Tom for attacking Foxfire but she was attacked first. "What are you bird brains doing?" She screeched out at the apprentice. Her rage only growing. "Shows how much honor and justice you have. Can't even respect your leaders choice!"

Beartooth simply watched as the leaders began to duel. But the entire time, his gaze flickered to the Shadowclan deputy. There was no surprise when fur didn't lay flat, claws were unsheathed. And then all The Dark Forest broke loose as he yowled and launched himself forward. If it weren't for the writhing cats around him, descended into madness, he might have sought to defend Skyclan's deputy from the insolent kit that was Lynxscar. But before he could move, some mad warrior from Shadowclan was sinking his teeth into the deputy's scruff. The tabby tom snarled and shook fiercely to dispel the attacker. He didn't even flinch as flesh from his soft scruff was ripped away. His paws stumbled slightly as he sought to regain his step. There was no doubt about it now, they were entrenched in battle. Those many deadly claws steadied him. Beartooth would seek to make quick work of this tom and then assist the others.

Beartooth is no longer stunned.

The tom spitted a bunch of fur and blood out of his mouth before turning to see eye to eye to the other scarred deputy. The thrill of the battle soon reached all his body, extending as quick as his blood. "I'm finally taking revenge on your clan for what you've done to mine. For taking Redwing... for maiming my apprentice!" He yowled before standing up on his hind legs, making him look like a big bear, and aiming to slash the deputy's face.

Lynxscar used Rear-up to Slash, dealing 17 + 2 (Night Finesse) damage and costing 15 stamina.

Poppyheart eventually lost his grip on the ThunderClan deputy, but he had been quick to react. He reared up on his hind legs and unsheathed his claws, beginning to mercilessly batter the tom's head with both paws. "How dare you side with the Clan that killed my mate! I'll make you wish you stayed out of this, dung face!"

Poppyheart used Upright Front Paws (+Night Finesse) on Beartooth, dealing 15 (+2) damage and costing 20 stamina.

"By going against what your leader just agreed to?" Foxfire snarled as he finally steadied himself on his paws, eyes narrowed...Before widening at the sight of the tom bringing his claws down at him. He stumbled backwards as the claws slashed across him, reopening some of the scars on his face. He yelped, shaking his head before he charged forward, sliding around the tom and bit down on his large, fluffy tail before he gave it a strong yank - before twirling to judge what his next action should be.

Foxfire used Tail Yank on Lynxscar dealing 9 damage and costing 10 stamina. Lynxscar is stunned for one turn.

The tom let out a frustrated hiss when his face hit the ground and mud. He looked up to the ginger cat with fury in his green eyes. The hit let him a little stunned but he wasn't going to back down on his words. "Maybe, but not against my clanmate's desires! Look around you, Foxfire. This... is the fury of Shadowclan. This is their strength." He mewed fiercely, his green eyes flaming with pride for his clanmates who jumped in battle with him. This was the future... Shadowclan was destined for. Honour would only make them weak. That's why they were now fighting two clans instead of one! Because Thornstar decided to send a stupid messenger when they should have attacked them by surprise... what was she thinking?

"Your hatred has only bred more violence." The blows, as vicious as they were, did little to slow the Thunderclan deputy. He was used to the pain, used to the heat of battle. Beartooth's words were low and simple, not menacing. Whatever pang of sympathy might have been there for this tom had vanished. This was simply a battle, to hopefully put a stop to both sides anger. All they did was spill more blood, and it wasn't in protection of the clan, this was beyond that. The older he grew, the more he despised senseless violence. The destruction of his claws only ever flashed in defence, in the face of danger to his clan. This was nothing like that. Once there was a break in the blows, he leaped forward and pinned the Shadowclan cat beneath his massive grip, digging the seven claws of each pad into the frame of his opponent.

Beartooth used leap and hold, dealing 14 damage and using 10 stamina. Poppyheart is held for 2 turns.

Foxfire let out a snort, shaking his head. "Our leader's word is law, Lynxscar," he reminded, claws sinking into the ground as he reared onto his back paws, bringing his claws down at the deputy. He didn't care what this tom was mewing about - he had broken the rules put in place. He was certain that Thornstar wouldn't be happy about that, somebody disregarding her word - and he had been the first one to step a paw out of line. "I'm rather certain nobody would have stepped a claw out of line if it wasn't for your rash action."

"I don't hate you!" Poppyheart spat, groaning in pain as the deputy's claws dug deep into his fur. "I just hate what you did! There's a difference, flea-bag!" Tightening his muscles in his legs, he pushed off of the ground and twisted around underneath Beartooth, breaking away from the tight grip. He then pushed the tabby away with his back, sending him tumbling a couple tail-lengths away.

Poppyheart used Duck-and-Twist (+Night Finesse) on Beartooth, dealing 7 damage (+2) and costing 25 stamina.
