| It was Ferretnose's first time leading a patrol since Hazelpaw passed away. Another spirit lost to the ground below. ThunderClan would have been a good home for her, if she had lived to see it. Now, Duskpaw had to grow up without a sister. Condensation collected on the air in front of her as she sighed and shivered in the cold. The end of the day was always the hardest hunt, but the small warrior didn't mind a challenge. She waited patiently for her patrol to approach. ______________________________________ 》Former Admin《 Rushkit | RiverClan Kit | #4b5320 Lionpaw | ThunderClan Apprentice | #cb945f |

| Dawngaze met Ferretnose by the gorse tunnel and gave a calm nod of greeting. It was a shame what had happened to Hazelpaw... her niece. Her family was doomed by the blood in their veins. She wished she could say the death affected her deeply, but Dawngaze had simply endured too much grief over family deaths to have any ounce of pain left in her body. She hadn't even tried to get to know her kin in fear of it being pointless, and she was right. Only time would tell if Dawngaze would outlive Duskpaw.
Tired of opening old wounds, the frosty she-cat turned her attention from her inside old to the outside world. It was cold. It was late. And she was tired, already worn from her day's work. But she was assigned to this patrol so she would carry out her duties without a single complaint. Dawngaze just wanted it over with. ______________________________________ Sun // Living Characters // Deceased Characters

| Lynxtail moved as if he was walking through deep, heavy mud. Patrols... the only thing keeping him sane. The young tom was unsure if this was true, but he held onto the thought anyway. It brought him comfort to plod down the same hunting trail every day, leap mechanically after prey, walk slowly along each border, he told himself. Lynxtail stopped a few foxlengths away from the others and hesitated, uncertain. After a beat, he haltingly approached them, glancing up at Ferretnose and offering her a weak smile of encouragement. He wasn't the only one mourning, he knew- it was selfish to focus on himself when others were going through something similar. "Anyone else joining us?" The words scalded his throat but he forced them out anyway, trying to brighten the mood for the others' sake, and in a way, for his. "I want to get this over with and get back to my nest." ______________________________________ Sunleap – T1 TC Warrior – #009966 | Bearpaw – TC Apprentice – #0066ff Feral/ #006666 Forest Bear's 1/2 Feral Buffs- Spoiler:

| "Well, I hope you three don't mind my presence?" A voice asked dryly from behind Lynxtail. Following it, Hailpaw stepped into view. Her yellow gaze swept over the patrol she had been assigned to. They were cats that she barely remembered from before her imprisonment in RiverClan camp. The fact was no surprise. With everything that had taken place the past moons, the white-furred she-cat had spent minimal time interacting with her clanmates. She could not even recall if they had ever had a conversation together―maybe, but maybe not. She knew their names now, at least. Beartooth and Pricklebush had been very helpful in that aspect. "Ferretnose. Dawngaze. Lynxtail." As she called out each name, her feathery tail flicked lightly in that cat's direction. "I didn't make a mistake, did I?" She asked lightly, maw quirking into a half-smile as she did. "We should get going." To these cats, she must have been an oddity. Despite still bearing the 'paw suffix, she was clearly as large in stature as some of the biggest warriors in the clan (of course, Beartooth was excluded from that comparison). Her friendly demeanor gave no hint of the brutal cat that had cruelly maimed a defenseless opponent. Her gaze flicked across the three cats once more. What did they think of her, she wondered. It would be fun to find out eventually. |

| "You're alright, Hailpaw!" Ferretnose assured. "Come on, I'm itchin' to catch the last vole of the day." A yawn caught itself in her throat, a reminder of her weariness. There was still work left to do.
Shutting her eyes tight, Ferretnose walked sightless through the undergrowth. Low to the ground, her large paws made less noise. It was harder and harder these days... maybe she ought to try fishing! Someone did mention to her the ease of simply waiting for one to flop on the shore before you. What a strange Leaf-fall it was turning out to be.
A small twitch, and the she-cat froze in place. Food. She opened her good eye, peering forward at her prey. It was going to be a hard shot to make. She could either slide through the bush in front of her and risk making too much noise or try to jump over it and miss her mark. She elected to bunch up her haunches and leap for it, bursting out of the ferns like a missile.
A squeak, a crack, and the vole was under her heavy paws, smushed between them and a tangle of ferns. With a quick snip, she felt the tiny warm trickle of a freshly caught kill. Pleased with herself, she hid it away and continued on her hunt.
Ferretnose tried to catch a rodent and succeeded!

| Dawngaze glanced between Lynxtail and Hailpaw. Aside from a petty grudge from the days of her apprenticeship, she thought little of the tom. And Hailpaw was a strange sight in and of herself, an apprentice older than Dawngaze, and formerly a prisoner of RiverClan for a very long time. But the tortoiseshell warrior had nothing to say and merely nodded to Hailpaw, confirming her name in a simple movement. She followed the group out into the territory and split off a little ways to have some space for the hunt.
She followed the breeze, her nose lifted slightly in the air, and breathed deeply the scents of leaf-fall. It was developing into a chilly evening and her thick pelt fluffed up against the air. Not long after going her own way, Dawngaze caught the track of a rabbit and tracked it a little ways further until catching sight of it through a thicket. It was still fat from the warm season, rooting around for whatever shoots were left for it to scavenge. Dawngaze crouched low, breathing slowly, and then crashed through the bush with her claws extended.
However, Dawngaze's luck with predators is extremely bad and a raccoon walked directly in her path because that's just how it is sometimes. It wasn't happy and scratched her.
Dawngaze used Lightning Strike on the raccoon, dealing 10 damage and using 15 stamina.
The raccoon used Quick Swipe on Dawngaze, dealing 20 damage and using 10 stamina.

| Lynxtail's ears perked as the distant sound of a fight reached him. Without another thought, the young warrior charged through the undergrowth, leaping and dodging around trees and rocks in his path. He skidded to a halt directly in front of a furious raccoon. Startled, Lynxtail stood on his hind legs and slashed at its face and neck before leaping away again, his flanks heaving.

| The patrol had barely started, when trouble came in search of the ThunderClan cats. Hailpaw eyed the raccoon warily, sizing the creature up. A puny beast like that one could be a little troublesome, but disposing of it would not take long. The white-furred apprentice slipped away from her clanmates. Taking a roundabout route through the underbrush, she sneaked up behind the raccoon. Right when it detected her, she dashed forward and caught hold of its tail. She had learned to fight cleverer, that was for sure.
Hailpaw used Tail Yank, dealing 2 damage and costing 10 stamina. Raccoon is stunned for one turn.

| Ferretnose heard a horrible hiss of surprise on her left and quickly leaped to her paws. The stench of a beast made her stomach woozy as she shuffled through the undergrowth with hasty paws. She heard the pitiful chattering of a raccoon and her fear turned into frustration and annoyance. They were one of the more simple predators, fat and lazy. Hailpaw had a hold on its tail already. "On your right!" she chirped as she sprang up onto the tree above the white apprentice's head and immediately flung her dense body onto the raccoon's head, taking it down as she hit the dirt below. It lay motionless on the ground, the smell of carrion wafting around it.
"You would think they had enough crowfood in Twolegplace," she huffed. "While we're out here fighting for every mouse we can get. Dawngaze, are you okay? If it didn't catch you too bad, I don't think a dumb raccoon is enough to spoil my evening."
Ferretnose used overkill Tree Spring, dealing 11 damage and costing 10 stamina. Oh my heckin god he heckin dead.

| The other members of the patrol crashed in to support Dawngaze, and she didn't have enough time to get another swipe in before the raccoon was completely overwhelmed and slaughtered on sight. It was good to know that her clan had her back at every moment.Shaking out her ruffled coat, Dawngaze exhaled deeply and growled a single word in response to Ferretnose. "Lowlifes." She licked down her coat, swiping away a few stray drops of blood, and figured another shallow scratch wouldn't be the end of the world. "It's not a problem. The clan needs food and the cut's not deep; I'd say we keep hunting." She meowed coolly, nodding her thanks to Hailpaw and Lynxtail before separating again.
The original prey, the rabbit, had disappeared in all the commotion. Her best bet was to follow the distance sounds of birds chirping and hope one would be rooting around on the forest floor for bugs not yet killed by the chill. Although she found what she was looking for, her technique was sloppy under the added stress of another wound. She'd been scratched up more frequently than she was willing to admit to her clanmates, and the aches and the cold were starting to get to her. She grew impatient, leaped to early, and scattered the birds into a panicked flight around her.

| Lynxtail nodded as Dawngaze spoke, nudging the raccoon one last time to make sure that it was truly dead before turning and walking silently back into the forest. He felt no adrenaline. His heartbeat felt steady. It was as if the fight had never happened. The young tom shook himself, looking for something, reaching for something to shake feeling back into his limbs.
Lynxtail had been so distracted that he didn't realize where his paws were carrying him. He was standing at Sunningrocks, the cold river water lapping against his paws. He watched as fish darted through the shadows. Catching one wouldn't be too difficult, right? A large, copper-colored fish suddenly flopped onto the bank. Lynxtail jumped into the air, startled, then threw himself onto the fish. After a short scuffle, he emerged triumphantly, holding the fish in his jaws.
