The Hunt [Closed]

To be honest, Honeypaw wanted to curl up into a ball and cry as she felt the badger got limp, practically rolling off of it as it hit the ground. She struggled to her paws, gasping at the thick scent of blood that was in her nose, her mouth - dear StarClan it was everywhere. Her slashing blows had sent blood spraying, coating her pelt, clinging and clumping as she stumbled away from the beast. The only thing that perhaps stopped her from collapsing was Ivybrook's voice, head snapping up as she gave her mentor wide eyes, heaving for breath as she struggled to regain a control of her emotions as she mutely nodded her head in acknowledgement of the order.

She had killed something - she had killed prey before but taking the badger's - the beast's - life seemed so different. This thing had fought back, it clearly wanted to survive as well as them. And at least the prey she killed had suffered little - a simple swipe and their life was over. The badger had fought tooth and nail and she had...She had ripped the back of its throat out, for lack of better words. She heard - and saw - Dappleshine and Ivybrook go racing to help take down the other one but she was locked in place...

Until she saw the body of her mentor go flying. Her eyes snapped to where Ivybrook landed into a lump of fur, barely moving as Honeypaw took a terrified step back. "I-Ivybrook," she whimpered, terrified to see such a strong she-cat lay there, not getting back up - why wasn't she getting back up. Honeypaw's gaze flickered to where she had seen Wasppaw land when she had taken the other badgers blow. Honeypaw took in a deep breath, trying not to gag at the rich taste of blood on her tongue as she broke into a run - charging straight at the remaining badger. No. She couldn't get wrapped up in her feelings, not now...Not yet. There would be plenty time to realize what she had done after the badger was dead and her Clanmates were safe. "LEAVE THEM ALONE!" She yowled as she threw herself at the badger's back, raking her claws down its back as she hissed with all the energy she could muster.

Honeypaw used Run-and-tackle on the badger, dealing 9 damage and costing 10 stamina. (Regular 6 + 3 for opponent not being focused on them)

The badger's head fell as Honeypaw made her latest attack, and Dappleshine saw her opportunity. Running forward, she rose onto her hind legs, gazing into the beady black eyes of the badger with a furious hiss. Her forepaws came crashing down on the badger's head, and she stepped back, waiting for it's next move, holding her breath.

Dappleshine used Upright Lock on the badger, dealing 14 damage and costing 25 stamina. Badger can no longer fight.
