June's Gathering 2018

Lilypaw walked after Fernwing into the clearing she saw that Fernwing was not as open as she normally was what worried her. She decided she would go sit down next to some river clan cats, yes she was wind clan so what? She was always fascinated by how massive the river clan cats were. And hey it was a gathering she could talk to some right?

Maplepaw walked into the clearing tighter with her sister Dewpaw, she looked at her. she must be fascinated by this place, just like I was the first time. She decided to sit down and as she let her soft calico colored fur touch the ground of four tree's. Great star clan she hoped that no cat would come up to her and try to talk she was really not in the mood.

Owlpaw was once again fascinated by the amount of cats siting in four tree's. She actually did not know what to do beside trying to not fall on her face like last month. She carefully watched her step as she sat down with her clanmates close to some shadowclan & Windclan cats. She looked at them with some interest how must it be to live in the mud or al in the open? she shivered that must be horrible, those poor cats! her brown fur shivered. Maybe she could find out how those poor cats lived?.

Ashkit walked to Fourtrees with her Clan, she was so excited! It was her first time to go to a Gathering! So many new cats! So many new smells! It was riddled with cats! She searched her Clan to see if she could find Maplepaw and Dewpaw. After a while she saw Maplepaw's calico fur in the crowd. She walked towards her and saw that Dewpaw was with her. "Hey guys! How nice to see you here!" She looked at the two of them to see their faces as they saw that Ashpaw was here too. "Yes, I know! I am finally an apprentice! Finally I am free from the nursery!"

Minnowslip stumbled out from behind Jaystar, nearly falling onto the leader before righting herself. The pressure to be strong, to show no weakness was overwhelming as she tried her best to be a stoic senior warrior when she was shoulder height to most of the warriors around her. She loved her mother, but at moments like this, she resented how small she was.

"Be careful," she whispered to the closest RiverClan apprentice, her tail brushing against their flanks. "Everyone is our enemy, remember that. This is just a temporary truce. And if you can, try find out how all the other clans are doing with their new leaders."

She didn't want to make this into a war, but it never hurt to get something to hold over the other clans. Ever since Ivystar's death, she lived on edge, her dearest cousin, Jaystar, was a good leader, wise beyond his years and strong, but she feared Ivystar had left behind a bloody legacy of intimidation. Her greatest concern was that the other clans would see Jaystar's reign as a chance to get back at them...

Peatpaw kept his eyes on his father's figure, occasionally nervously darting across to make sure his mentor was nearby. It was frightening how many cats were here, so many foreigners with their gross scents. He wasn't one to be cowed easily, but he was no fool. All of them would break him like a twig if the full moon wasn't hanging high in the sky like a beacon. And Minnowslip's ominous words barely helped the ugly lump in his chest.

Warily, he bumped into Sunfish, asking the older warrior, "do you think this will be a peaceful one? All the old leaders are gone right? New leaders, new alliances?"

Violetshine looked over at her apprentice taking his place amongst the newly named deputies of the various clans with mild interest, before her ears twitched with annoyance at a newly named apprentice's loud entrance. "Hush, Ashpaw. You do ShadowClan no honours with your racket."

The ShadowClan warrior made her annoyance doubly clear with a cuffing over the she-kit's ear, before she stalked over to her place with the other elder warriors.

Scorchclaw was right behind Jaystar as the tall gray leader led RiverClan into Fourtrees. As the familiar sight of the Great Rock came into view, looming solemnly in the center of the clearing, he found himself filled with a strange sense of unease. He had been to the gathering with his clanmates many times before, but always as a mere warrior. This was his first gathering since he had been chosen as the deputy. He and Jaystar were now the main representatives of their clan, and he couldn't help but feel somewhat pressured at the thought. Ivystar was gone now; tonight, the other clans would know. He had to be strong, had to put up a strong front for the sake of his clan. The other clans could not be possibly be allowed to think that the change in leadership had left them weak. Minnowslip's soft words didn't escape his notice. Even though they weren't directed towards him, he flicked one tufted ear in acknowledgement.

The wounds Shadefang had given him had closed over. They no longer hurt, but his tabby fur had yet to grow back over them. Scorchclaw didn't need anyone to tell him that some of them would remain as scars. At the thought of the bloodthirsty warrior, a trickle of anger sprung up within him. He was gone now, exiled, but a voice whispered within his heart that that was not the last they would see of him. As Jaystar brushed against his shoulder, his green gaze flicked to the older tom. Surprise glimmered within his eyes at the leader's words, but it quickly dissipated. He nodded once in silent determination. Jaystar jumped up unto the Great Rock, and Scorchclaw took his seat among the other deputies. He curled his fluffy tail around his dark paws, watching the rest of his clanmates begin to mingle with the crowd.

An unexpected voice to his side caused the fluffy brown tom to turn his head. It was another of the deputies; Scorchclaw recognized his scent as WindClan's. Just like him, he was one of the newly appointed deputies. Scorchclaw slightly narrowed his eyes, but responded. "RiverClan is doing fine. And WindClan?" He kept his answer as simple as possible. There was no need to give more information than was necessary. Unlike Swiftstep, he did not make an effort to sound friendly. WindClan was allied with ThunderClan; he had no intention of forgetting that anytime soon. As much as he would like to return to the past gatherings where he could just keep to himself, however, he couldn't just ignore the WindClan tom.

Dewpaw was really excited. This was her very first gathering! She looked around to see all of the cats from other clans talking. She stopped walking when she saw Ashpaw. 'Good job with coming an apprentice! Your ceremony was beautiful' She said.
She looked at the other cats once again. 'Isn't it amazing? All these cats together, even though they are from different clans!' Dewpaw kept looking for a few seconds and then turned around to her friends. 'But still, we need to be careful. They are still enemy's. Let's treat them with respect.'

⚜ poplarstar ⚜

Poplarstar was the next leader to head into Fourtrees with his Clan trailing behind him. Ever since he had been the one to lead SkyClan into the Gathering clearing during the last full moon, the idea of being the voice of his Clan wasn't an issue, anymore. However, it was a bit daunting to know that this would be his job for the rest of his life, to stand as a voice for his Clan. He was no longer a stand-in, for that was the job of his deputy. This was his job, now. Keeping his green gaze on the Great Rock, the fluffy tom bunched his muscles before leaping on to the face of the stone with ease. It dawned on the tom that many of the other deputies were here. Jaystream, Brindlewhisker, and Scorchfang. Of course, he had no idea that Jaystream and Brindlewhisker had each experienced their own ceremonies of leadership. As a sign of curt greeting, Poplarstar dipped his head quickly to each of the cats on top of the Great Rock before looking out at the crowd of cats from the four Clans that were currently there.

Dovestream padded swiftly into Fourtrees, yellow eyes glowing with glee. Gatherings were always something to look forward to. The gray tabby couldn't help but curiously stare at the Great Rock, wondering why there were so many deputies on top, but then she saw strange cats sitting in the deputy spot below the Great Rock. New deputies meant new leaders... had that many leaders died in such a short amount of time? Talk about a coincidence. The she-cat rolled her eyes and looked away from the Great Rock, wondering when ThunderClan would be here. Of course, they would be the last ones to arrive, they were ThunderClan, after all! Sure, Dovestream supposed that not every ThunderClanner was bad, but Eaglefang had ruined her view on any positive aspects of the Clan that was supposed to be allied with WindClan.

Spiderpaw softly whimpered as he entered the Gathering after his Clan. Great StarClan, there were way too many cats here! Why didn’t he just listen to his instincts and stay home?...

The newly-made apprentice tumbled in behind Scorchfang, bubbling in excitement and happiness at the opportunity to attend a Gathering. While pouring into the clearing with the rest of the Clan, Leopardpaw's green eyes widened as he saw all the cats inhabiting the area already. So many new smells invaded his nose, smells he figured must be the scents of the other Clans. Giving the other cats privacy, though, he simply walked over to an area with relatively no cats and sat patiently as he waited for the Gathering to begin.

Foxpaw looked around at the throng of cats. Which ones to talk to? She looked around until she saw an apprentice. She was sitting by herself. Foxpaw walked over to her, smiling  "Hello!" She meowed friendly. "I am Foxpaw, from WindClan. Whats your name?"

Meadowpaw looked up as she saw an orange apprentice walk towards her. After the she-cat had finished speaking, Meadowpaw spoke back. "M-my name is M-Meadowpaw," She said, stuttering a bit. This was her first time talking to a cat from outside her Clan. "I-I'm from RiverClan."

Blackpaw walked into the Gathering, not sure who to follow. Scorchclaw was busy, most of his friends scattered as soon as he got there. Resigned, the white-and-black cat settled down on the spot, looking at the stars instead.

Quietrain padded slowly, drifting across like a ghost. The light-gray warrior found a spot where the ground gave in, probably the set of an old, filled-up den, and laid down.

Ferretpaw blinked and suddenly, amongst her Clanmates, she noticed little Leopardkit... no, Leopardpaw, now. Of course, he had been apprenticed recently, and the russet tabby could guess that the tomcat was full of excitement to be at his first Gathering. "Leopardpaw, over here!" she called out, flicking her tail towards a spot next to her and her beloved juniper bush.

The large apprentice has gotten lost in his thoughts, attempting to keep a relatively calm demeanor about him even though he was incredibly excited. Leopardpaw was brought out of his thoughts as he heard his name being called, and a voice that was vaguely familiar from hearing the bustle around camp and as some apprentices had brought the queens fresh-kill when he kit. He rose up and padded over to the she-cat, greeting her as he sat down beside her, wrapping his tail around his large paws. "Hey Ferretpaw! I have a question, what's the difference in the smells of the other Clans? I'm guessing the more fishy smell is RiverClan, but what about WindClan and ThunderClan?" The young tom was attempting to learn as much as possible out of the opportunity that he was given by attending the Gathering.

Padding into the clearing behind Poplarstar, the small deputy made his way over to the front of the tree where the other deputies began to gather. "Good evening," the older tom mewed to Swiftstep and Scorchclaw as he sat down, hoping that he wasn't interrupting too much. Curling his long, grey tail over his white paws, a cheery smile sat on his muzzle, per usual. Unlike the last time he was deputy, the short legged tom didn't recognize the deputies that sat with him now, so he assumed that something must have happened to the majority of the previous leaders, just like Rippedstar, which was somewhat odd...

"I hope so." The slight collision startled Sunfish into speaking, her gaze briefly waning to the tom beside her, "The warmer weather seems to soothe everybody's tempers." Although Sunfish had only ever attended Gatherings during the colder moons, the difference in the atmosphere was already astoundingly different. There were still brief flashes of unpleasant behavior, but most cats seemed marginally more relaxed.

Bounding ahead after his Clanmates, Lichenpaw hardly even paid Silverfang a second thought as he plunged into the bustling clearing. So many different sights, sounds, and scents! Giving the silhouettes of the Leaders atop the Great Rock a passing glance, the young tabby tom was quick to weave his way through the clumps of mingling cats.

Head held high, Sootpaw strode into the clearing with SkyClan's chosen apprentices. It was his first Gathering, and yet he felt no excitement or thrill rush through his veins. Sitting in a mostly secluded place, the black tom hoped he wouldn't have to interact with any of the other Clans.

Surprisingly enough, Raccoonpaw had finally been chosen to go to a Gathering with the rest of SkyClan. He thought it was absurd to keep him from going to a Gathering for so long, but maybe Poplarstar just couldn't handle his warrior spirit. The Siamese tom tried looking for other Clan cats he thought he could tolerate talking to- mainly ThunderClan and WindClan cats. Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer, right?

OOC: Raccoon and Soot are open for conversation, but only TC and WC cats can talk to Raccoon.

Graybriar padded into the Gathering, glad to finally be coming to one of them as a warrior. She never imagined, as a younger apprentice, that she'd be following WindClan in- but she was content to be just one of the sea of gray and brown and white and orange pelts flooding in behind Brindlestar, who didn't look nervous but probably was. All of them missed Ashstar, but no one among them thought that the she-cat wouldn't be just as good a leader. The gray tabby sat down in the middle of her Clan, fine with just sitting there. Cats didn't normally approach her, not even cats from her old Clan- and she was honestly fine with that.

Brushpaw followed Scorchfang into the clearing, not showing her awe at the massive amount of cats that were there. Cats of almost every Clan thronged the large space, and she quickly lost herself in the tide of fur and scents and tails. The fluffy black and brown apprentice bumped into another cat, a fish-smelling tabby tom who looked about her age. "Hey! Watch where you're going, you-" the she-cat turned to meet the tom's gaze, then found herself looking into deep blue-green eyes that seemed to hold the stars in them. There was something about those eyes- something timeless, powerful, mesmerising, that made the confident and clever she-cat feel small. And she'd just snapped at... whoever this was. Suddenly she felt more embarrassed than she ever had, even when she tripped and got covered in mud that one time, but she still couldn't tear her pale green eyes off of his. "Oh. I.... I'm sorry. What's your name?"
