May's Gathering 2018

Bathed in the cold light cast from the full moon, the four massive oak trees swayed gently in the breeze, their renewed leaves rustling softly.  In the heart of new-leaf, everything was new, healthy and bright, and the clans were sure to want to share news about their good fortune.  Cats crouched on the edge of the hollow, waiting for the silent signal to begin their night of peace.

WindClan was the first to enter the clearing, led in by Ashstar. Her usually ragged pelt was slightly better-groomed than usual, due to the stress of leaf-bare slowly wearing off and the extra time that the newleaf abundance of prey had brought. However, the gray she-cat still looked weary and exhausted as she leapt onto the Great Rock. The decisions she'd been making lately had taken a lot out of her... it was obvious that she was nowhere near young anymore. Despite her worn-out appearance, the leader's bright green eyes watched the clearing intently, looking after each and every Clanmate as well as waiting for the other Clans to arrive.

Graypaw followed Ashstar into the clearing, feeling a slight sense of oddness that they were the only Clan there. Not that she wasn't used to being in Fourtrees with not many cats there... With a slight flash of clarity, she remembered when she had run into Badgerthorn- Badgerpaw then- here. However, she still wasn't as used to her new Clan as she thought she ought to be. She was older than quite a few warriors, but the apprentice felt that she still had yet to grasp some of the more complicated nuances of WindClan society.... With a slight sigh, the gray tabby stuck to the middle of the sea of cats, hoping that Badgerthorn had come and wondering where he was.

Featherlight followed her leader, taking her place with the other medicine cats with a newfound confidence. She wasn't just an apprentice anymore - at present, she was WindClan's only medicine cat, and as such had to be strong. Or at least pretend that she was. Still, it was hard not to be happy at the prospect of seeing her fellow medicine cats.

Lilypaw walked together with her clan into four tree's she had never been here before and it was hard for her to handle here one excitement. But when they arrived there was no one there yet. she felt a sting of disappointment she had hoped that by the time they had arrived the other clans would be already there. lilypaw was curious what the other cat's would look like she had heard that they would be bigger she figured they would probably smell different to. And would they be friendly? She hoped she could maybe talk to one of them. she sat down close to here siblings and waited for the other clans to arrive

How odd, WindClan was the first Clan to arrive?

Shaking away the brief ripple of surprise, Brindlewhisker's steps were practically soundless as she made her way to the traditional seat of the Deputies. Although she felt just as weary as Ashstar looked, her emotions were carefully concealed beneath a carefully fronted display of aloof indifference as she made her way through the loosely scattered throng of her Clanmates. The prospect of conversing with the Deputies didn't sound as painful as usual, but she'd still rather be settling down for the night back on the open moors.

Foxpaw walked into fourtrees and took a deep breath, taking in all the scents. It smelled different than the moor. This was were Willowpaw has died... NO! she shook out her fur. She needed to stop thinking about that! what hapend in the past was past. She walked across the clearing and sat down next to Graypaw. "Hello," Foxpaw meowed. "How are you adjusting to life on the moor?"

Elmpaw limped into the clearing with the rest of his Clan, sticking close by Brindlewhisker until she parted ways to sit in her designated spot. He looked around for other apprentices, wavering between sitting with Lilypaw and sitting with Graypaw and Foxpaw. Finally he decided to sit down closer to Graypaw, hoping to find a chance where he could comfortably enter the conversation.

Mothpaw didn't trail far behind Elmpaw, his father didn't seem to be in sight yet, so he moved himself after the rest of the apprentices. Shyness twisting in his guts as he tried to catch up to the tom but he found himself trailing too far behind and sat somewhere else, at least a few cat lengths away.

Filing in behind WindClan, Acornpelt strolled into the clearing with the rest of WindClan. She was slightly surprised that her Clan got here first, but she wasn't complaining. The she-cat could finally sit in those spots that were always taken and reserved, or get a good place to get a closer listen- and look - to the Great Rock and the equally great leaders that would sit on it! 
Resting herself in a comfortable spot that was decently close to the huge rock (so she wouldn't have to strain her neck to look at the leaders), the brown tabby waited for the other Clans to make an appearance. Acornpelt would enjoy seeing Dawnpetal once again, but she decided Dawnpetal might want to talk to someone new this Gathering. Perhaps she would talk to a different ThunderClan member, or maybe, MAYBE a SkyClan or a ShadowClan cat, but she wouldn't speak to any RiverClan scum. Not in a million moons.

Sunpaw came in near the back of the crowd, he sat down in the shadows, pretty far away from the Leaders' stone. He hoped he had someone talk to him. It was his first gathering, and he couldn't grow the courage to start a conversation.

Littlestar padded into Fourtrees not long after Windclan. The small leader was surprised to see they were only the second clan to arrive, but she quickly dismissed it with a shrug. Weaving her way through the small throng of cats before she came to Great Rock and leaped deftly to the top to stand aside Ashstar. "Hello, Ashstar." She greeted with a polite nod before settling down, wrapping her tri-colored tail around her paws neatly.

Olivelily followed behind her leader silently before finding a spot to sit and wait for the other clans to arrive. She was ready to get this gathering over with.

Ferretpaw followed in behind the leader of ShadowClan, casting burly glances at the WindClan cats. She was just tired tonight, sulking towards the back of the group composed of her Clanmates. Finally, she settled down, licking her paw and passing it across her ear.

Ryeheart followed closely behind his clanmates as they flooded down into the clearing, his ears and eyes pricked and alert in search of his son.  Quickly he realized though that only WindClan had arrived so far, and his tail dropped a bit.  Breaking off from the group, he sat down near the edge of the hill where RiverClan usually arrived, hoping to catch Lakewhisper as he walked in.  I'm still not sure if this is a good idea...but I'm gonna do it anyway.

Poplartooth had walked into Fourtrees many times before, but he had never been the cat in the very front. He had never been the one to lead his Clan into the Gathering. But, alas, here he was, at the head of the group with dozens and dozens of SkyClanners following behind him. While the fluffy tom did enjoy the feeling of being at the front, he was a bit frustrated about the fact that the other Clans might deem them weak considering that Rippedstar wasn't here. However, Poplartooth kept his head held high and his green eyes focused solely on the Great Rock. Once he found himself directly in front of the large stone, he crouched down low and then leaped up high enough to get onto the rock. Immediately, he felt some sort of power rush through his veins. He could see everything from here - every single cat in the clearing. It was like he had suddenly grown abnormally tall, and he loved it. The deputy glanced over at Ashstar and Littlestar and gave them a short, curt nod before looking back out at the rest of Fourtrees. He wasn't open to any questions about where Rippedstar was or why he was up here in his place.

Fernwing trotted in after her Clan beside her apprentice Lilypaw, her tail raised high with happy excitement. She was very grateful RiverClan hadn't arrived yet; even after Willowwhisker's advice to her as an apprentice during her trip to the Moonstone, she couldn't exactly find it in her heart to forgive Cinderfall for attacking her those moons ago. But at the same time... perhaps she should at least give him another chance. Even if they couldn't be friends, it would be nice to listen to him apologize to her. Their Clans may not be allies at the moment, but that didn't mean they needed to be enemies either.

Scorchfang padded just behind Littlestar, assisting her in leading the rest of ShadowClan to the sacred meeting place for the Clans. He broke away to sit by Brindlewhisker, and he offered her a nod of greeting. "Hello, Brindlewhisker. I trust things are well in WindClan."
