Warm it up (OPEN)

Brindlekit had awoken from her slumbering state and blinked her still blue kitten eyes. She shifted onto her belly and rolled over to stretch both her back and front paws out, paws kneading absently in the air as she enjoyed the simple comfort of a warm nest with her mother. She closed her eyes and dazed for a couple moments longer before she decided it was best to be up and lay in the middle of camp somewhere.

Brindlekit remembered her mother told her she was old enough to try and eat fresh kill by herself, so that's what she decided to do. Padding silently to the fresh-kill pile she pulled out the smallest fish she could carry in her short jaws, dragging it to a comfortable shaded spot, she began to pick off scales and try to munch on it the best she could.

The warm sunlight poured in through the thick nursery walls, casting small pools of luminous light. Featherkit scrunched up her eyes, adjusting to the brightness. Her small jaws opened in a huge yawn, and she licked some ruffled patches of her blue-silver tabby fur. The young she-kit gazed around the den. I'm bored, she thought, and padded silently outside, cautious not to disturb any others.

As Featherkit exited, she nearly stumbled over something. Fluffing out her fur in alarm, she saw she had stepped on a shiny pebble. Crouching playfully, she pawed the pebble around, purring.
