A sedge in the barn [Oepn]

Gentlenose gasped. "Oh no, you mighty Thunderclan warriors are too much for the Fox Queen to handle!" she cried out, dramatically falling to ground. She layed on her side, legs sprawled out and tongue lolling out.

"Mom!" Sedgekit cried "Oh Blizzardkit! We killed her!" he actually believed it, he started to cry "Oh why, why!"

Jayflight padded behind "She's just kidding" he purred nuzzling Gentlenose "She isn't really dead Sedgekit" he mewed.

Gentlenose blinked one eye open, surging up and pulling Sedgekit on top of her. "Got you!" she purred. "See? I'm alright, just like your father said," she assured her son.

Blizzardkit was celebrating their victory until her brother started to freak out over their mother. Almost immediately she started to push her with her nose, staring to grow worried and influenced by Sedgekit’s panic, feeling tears building in her eyes and regret pressing her chest.

As soon as her other got up she ran at full speed towards her, pressing her head against her like trying to fully convince herself that she was alive and well, all her fur standing on end thanks to the wild ride that her emotions just made her go through.

Sedgekit stopped crying and purred "heh, I knew that you were still alive" he mewed awkwardly.

Gentlenose rolled over, letting Sedgekit slide down next to Blizzardkit. "Aw, come on sweety, I was just playing," she said apologetically, trying to calm her daughter. "Here, since I scared you two half to death, I'll play any game you want. Maybe your father can join too?" she looked up at Jayflight expectingly.

Jayflight, who hadn't been paying attention after he had told the kits it was joke was staring into the forest, his blind gaze was gray, less blue now that he was a little older. He blinked, when he heard Gentlenose he turned in surprise "Oh, ya" he agreed batting at both the kits with his paws.

Sedgekit jumped "Really!" he chirped, he giggled when his father batted at his head "How about we race?" he mewed excitedly, he had never thought that his parents would make him and his sister so responsible for such a task.

Blizzardkit smiled at her mother, still a bit shaky but a lot more calm now. However, whatever troubling thoughts that were still left in her mind soon were pushed away when she felt her father’s paw. She started batting back at the paw, giggling softly and trying to keep her balance on her hind paws to have both front paws free while playing with Jayflight, half paying attention to her brother’s words “Sure! Racing sounds fun”.

Sedgekit nodded "Alright, let's race to the end of the barn, over there" he began, standing up on his hind legs. He turned to his mother and father "Ready?" he mewed "Go!" He raced forward after he got down on his hind legs.

Jayflight went easy on him and padded fast but also slow towards the way he was heading.

Gentlenose pounded after Sedgekit, quickly overtaking him. Before they reached the end of the barn though, she started to slow down, letting Sedgekit pass her. "Oh no, I'm just to tired to run any faster!" she cried out, pretending to be out of breath. "You're much too fast, Sedgekit!" she praised him, falling back in next to Jayflight.
