Flurrykit's ears twitched at the sound of Sageroot's voice, a soft huff escaping him - now that Sageroot was feeling better, there was no doubt in his mind what this ceremony was about. Of course, there was still two options - could be him or Serpentkit but... Well he couldn't deny he was hoping it was him. Jumping to his paws, he padded forward with a glimmer - eager to hear what name would be called.
Sageroot smiled at the confidence in the kit’s stride. “Flurrykit, please step forward. You have reached the age of six moons and are ready to be apprenticed. From now until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Flurrypaw. Your mentor will be Nightdancer. Nightdancer, I know you still have another kit in the nursery, but you are a skilled warrior and it won’t be much longer until you’re back in the warriors’ den. I hope you are able to take on an apprentice at this time.”

It was his turn! Flurrykit's eyes glimmered as he stepped forward, feeling a tinge of sadness that Serpentkit was going to be the last but...He was certain he wouldn't be far behind them! His ears were perked, excited to see who his mentor could be - could it be Sageroot herself? It would be fitting, seeing how Minkpaw already had Acornstar as mentor but who would Serpentkit get then...? He blinked however as his mom was named his mentor instead, but the surprise soon turned into pure glee as he spun to face his mom. This was perfect, a mentor who wouldn't treat him like a stupid apprentice - one who knew his greatness already! The newly named Flurrypaw scampered over, reaching up to touch noses with his mom with a grin. "Just you wait, mom, I'll be a warrior before you know it! I'll be your easiest apprentice yet!"
When Sageroot called upon her, Nightdancer's ears pricked up slightly. She had deliberated on which of her Clanmates she thought was best suited to teaching her kits, but her own name had never actually crossed the list.
Not that she was complaining.
"Of course, Sageroot. It is an honor, and one I would be hard pressed to refuse," she assured the deputy with a smile, turning her attention to her newest apprentice a moment later.
"I would never dream of doubting you, Flurrypaw," Nightdancer purred. "Still, being well-rested and taking time to strategize are important skills for a warrior to have. So the rest of the day is yours to do as you please, though I would recommend settling into your new den. Training begins at dawn."
