Flurrykit's Apprentice Ceremony

Another day, another ceremony, not that Olivestone was complaining! The more ceremonies to conduct, the more she'd get to climb up to and look out from the Tallrock. With a smile, she traced the familiar path to the Tallrock's summit, and as usual, paused for a moment once she stopped at its peak, enjoying the view and letting the breeze blow through her fur. Watching her Clanmates go about their daily business, she opened her mouth and called,
"May all cats old enough to run the moor gather beneath the Tallrock!"

Flurrykit, giving his chest one more quick lick, padded over to the Tallrock. He could barely cover the excitement that made his fur tingle. Eyes sparkling, Flurrykit sat with his tail curled around his forepaws and his gaze on Olivestone. Finally, the slightly younger tom would be apprentices alongside Clearpaw and Sweetpaw!

A prickle of anxiety formed in the back of Flurrykit's mind. Would his mentor be kind? Heart pounding and mind racing, Flurrykit held himself still before the rock.

When the tom-kit joined the crowd, Olivestone looked down and gave him an encouraging smile.
"Flurrykit, step forward."

When Flurrykit had done so, she continued.
"You have reached your sixth moon, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day forward, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Flurrypaw. Your mentor will be Foxspirit, and may she teach you everything she knows."

With another smile, Olivestone began the traditional chant, looking for Foxspirit in the crowd.
"Flurrypaw! Flurrypaw! Flurrypaw!"

Foxspirit emerged from the Warriors den at Olivestone's call. She was so proud of the young she-cat, she was making such an amazing deputy! She sat down, happy to find out that this was an apprentice ceremony. She was startled at first as Olivestone called her name. Well, it has been a while since I last had an apprentice! Foxspirit walked up to Flurrypaw and touched noses with him. "I've been in this clan for many a season, I will be more than happy to share my knowledge with you!"

Ooc: It's okay! I wouldn't have been able to respond if it was earlier, so it works out!

Flurrypaw beamed at the idea of his new mentor. Foxspirit had always seemed like a good cat to him. As he reached out to meet his new mentor's touch, he made a mental promise to make her proud. "Thank you," Flurrypaw murmured. The new apprentice stood up, tail high. He had finally caught up to his friends! Next step would be to train hard and make his place, eventually, as a warrior of WindClan.
