The upcoming ceremony today was making Rapidfire very excited and eager. The whole day while out training with Leopardpaw she was eagerly awaiting the time. When it finally came she nearly skipped across the clan clearing and hopped up the rock. She was getting more and more used to this and her body language showed as such with more confidence now.
The time had flown by- it felt like just yesterday she had brought her litter into the world and now they were apprentice aged. Settling in she glanced over at the nursery. Earlier that day she had worked to groom out Creamkits pelt - she would soon see if that had lasted or not she supposed.
"Everyone- please gather around for a clan meeting!" she purred happily

When Rapidfire had begun grooming her pelt, she knew something was up. Her mother never groomed her so carefully before. When she was younger, maybe, but as soon as she and her littermates were old enough to last a few hours without her, their mother had seemingly disappeared, off to attend to whatever duties she had. Creamkit's eyes narrowed as the Clan was called together. She was beginning to suspect that today may be someday special... a day she would be needed. The kit emerged from the nursery, pelt still somewhat well-groomed, and looked around at the gathered Clan. What in the name of StarClan was going on?

Another day, another ceremony. Leopardpaw had no doubt that today another one of his siblings would be joining him in the apprentice's den. Rapidfire had that usual excitement about her, and it was about time the rest of his littermates became apprentices. The black apprentice settled near the front of the crowd as he usually did, tail curled around his paws and all, and waited patiently for whichever sibling would be called forward.

Perhaps Leopardpaw would be surprised by whose turn it was as the deputy continued the ceremony.
She had thought carefully about the matchup for her own daughter - feisty at times but attentive to things at others.
Perhaps a warrior who matched her daughters fiestyness. That could work out well... or could encourage them both to be more. She was confident however that things would work out alright
"Creamkit, my daughter you have reached the age of apprentice. From this day on, until you get your warriors name you will be called Creampaw. Your mentor will be Auburnrain
She had first met Auburn when her clanmate was smooshing butterflies and slicing up flowers. A game she still wasn't sure what the idea was - but the warrior was a good fighter something she hoped her daughter would learn from her.
Her eyes swelled with pride as she hopped down the rock and went over to her daughter's side to congratulate her

So this was her ceremony. Creampaw couldn't contain her excitement as her new name was announced and her mentor chosen. Auburnrain! Wasn't that the crazy she-cat the queens gossiped about? Well, this would be fun. She paid little mind to whatever her mother was saying to her, instead running straight past Rapidfire to launch herself at her new mentor. "Hi! You're the weirdo everyone's talking about!" She burst out, a grin stretching across as her face.

The name that was called forward made Leopardpaw freeze. What? Creamkit-- Creampaw? Not Falconkit, or Redkit, or Moldkit, or Viperkit but Creampaw. A cat who was born after his litter? Wha- But of course. Anger bubbled up in the black tom as he watched his mentor congratulate her daughter. Rapidfire would hold favoritism for her own kits. His lips curled in distaste, and quickly he stood up and left with the rest of the Clan, not offering a single chant to the new apprentice's name. It was undeserved. Surely, StarClan would not recognize this ceremony?

The young apprentice was finally getting used to the fact that there will be ceremonies back to back due to the influx of kits in the clan. She herself came from a large litter—nine, to be exact—and some of her siblings were still missing their ceremonies. So when Rapidfire called the clan meeting, Quickpaw's already happy mood brightened up further. This ceremony was probably for one of her siblings since they were the oldest kits, and she was super giddy to have another one of her kin to train with.
However, when Creamkit's name was called, Quickpaw's enthusiasm stuttered a bit. So this wasn't one of her siblings' ceremonies? She felt... something that she quickly shook off. Feeling like that wasn't like her, and that bothered her. So, instead of feeling all down, she decided to look on the bright side. She had someone new to get to know! The she-kit was also the deputy's daughter, so that was a cool plus. Hopefully, they can get to hang out sometime.
"Creampaw! Creampaw!" she chanted, not aware of her brother Leopardpaw's plight. As soon as the ceremony officially concluded, the gangly apprentice hurried over to the newly-named Creampaw.
She dipped her head at the younger molly as a somewhat respectful greeting. "Congrats Creampaw! I'm Quickpaw, and I'm kinda a new apprentice, like you! I hope we can get to know each other and be friends!" She offered her a grin. There! Hopefully, that was a good first impression.
Weevilkit scurried as quickly as she could when her mother’s voice called throughout the camp. Her little frame shook as she excitedly waited for the announcement to be made! Her little sister’s name was called, and a purr rattled from the young molly’s chest. She was happy to see Creamkit become an apprentice.
She waited for Rapidfire to finish speaking before darting over to her sister. Weevilkit lost her balance and tumbled over in front of Creampaw. It took her just a moment to right herself but once she did, she purred and gently pressed against Creampaw. She sat down beside her sister with a soft smile and flicked her tail across the new apprentice’s before poorly running over to Rapidfire! One of the older apprentices was talking to her, Fastpaw or something. Creampaw scrunched up her nose, but accepted the greeting nonetheless. At least it was respectable... as it should be. "Well, Quickpaw, I'm sure we'll end up on patrols together lots from now on," She forced a purr, only to be cut short by some maggot falling down in front of her. Her lips curled in disgust as her little sister regained her balance. Gross! And did she really have to ruin Creampaw's big day like this? Right in front of her new, cool friend too! When Weevilkit tried to touch her, Creampaw roughly shoved the smaller kit away, not bothering to hide her relief as the kit tumbled away and began running towards Rapidfire. Good riddance!
