Welcome to SkyClan Patrols and Duties: Hunting Patrol! The clan is growing, and there's always a need for fresh kill.
RULES: Each participant can hunt up to 3 times during the topic, getting 3 chances to catch prey. You can roll your attempts separately, following the posting order, or all at once, combining each attempt into a single, longer post. A DOG-Gone Dangerous Quest is currently active, and tensions are high. Danger could be lurking around every corner... If a predator is rolled (10), KJsage is in charge of controlling the predator. Passive Bonus: +2 success range to all Hunting Rolls thanks to Moonlit Creek For ALL rules, please read the SkyClan Patrols and Duties post in its entirety.
Patrol Leader: Wolfstar Participants: Bubblebeam, Myrtlebloom, Harespring "Good luck on your hunt!" Honeydew called after the patrol as they set off through the camp entrance. "May StarClan light your path!" The young deputy could only hope that the patrol had a peaceful and successful hunt... and that other things weren't hunting them, too.
"Thank you, Honeydew." Wolfstar mewed, ducking through the camp entrance to lead her patrol out into the forest. Skyclan was a large clan, and with those numbers came the need for more prey. With newleaf in full swing, their patrol would hopefully have good luck around the creek.
Harespring and Bubblebeam accompanied her. Honeydew had assigned Myrtlepaw to the patrol as well, and Wolfstar gave the recently-demoted she-cat a small nod. She would not treat her clanmate like she had lost ability - she had become a warrior for a reason, after all - but the patrol would be a good way to see how she interacted with her clanmates. Harespring was Shatteredpaw's brother, Bubblebeam a good cat, if an increasingly unhappy one, it seemed to Wolfstar. Hopefully this patrol would not give her even more reason to be unhappy.
Not rolling the dice with Wolf as she doesn't need the requirements.
Bubblebeam couldn't help letting out a sigh of relief at the patrol she was assigned to. She hadn't been made the patrol leader, for which she was very grateful, and none of the cats accompanying her were extremely abrasive. Wolfstar was her grandmother--and though their relationship was slightly more distant than usual, it was entirely due to Bubblebeam backing away from their usual closeness out of discomfort with her circumstances rather than the leader. Myrtlebloom--no, Myrtlepaw--was a friend, if a newer one, and she didn't have any malice or guile in her. Harespring was the cat that Bubblebeam didn't know. A sibling of Honeydew, but also a sibling of Shatteredpaw. This was a hunting patrol, though, and not a border patrol (another thing that gladdened her, given her most recent unfortunate outing by the Fallen Oak), and so any abrasiveness towards the other Clans wouldn't be necessary. All things considered, this patrol ought to have been a good one. And yet, as it always did, her many worries--about Sunfire, about the missing Hemlockfox, about the recently-dead Rabbitpaw, about hisses and claws and red fangs--weighed her shoulders down.
Regardless, as ever, this was a hunting patrol, so she was here to hunt. Not here to mope about the many things that bothered her. She nodded at her grandmother and the other two patrol participants before climbing a nearby tree to get a better vantage point. Due to the warmer newleaf season, prey had begun returning to the forest in droves; no longer would the Clan starve due to a shortage of food. Sure enough, just a few branches away, a twittering bluebird sat unawares on a branch, having completely failed to notice her presence. She squared her shoulders and stalked closer, as quietly as she could. Don't think about how similar the feather color looks to your fur. Don't think about foxes or wolves or ThunderClan or anything else. Just... hunt. Thankfully, her claws didn't fail her on the bark, and all it took was one swift jump before the bird was in her jaws. It didn't make a sound--it just died. Bubblebeam shoved the intrusive thoughts to the back of her mind and carefully climbed down from the tree, making sure not to stretch her injured shoulder too much.
Bubblebeam attempts to catch a bird... Success! -3 SP
Myrtlebloom quietly followed behind Bubblebeam as their leader walked them into the forest. She silently broke off with the grey molly and watched as she scaled the tree. Myrtlebloom waited at the bottom of the tree, closing her eyes and opening her mouth slightly to take in her surroundings. The scent of a rabbit caught her attention, and the hint of blood did as well.
She opened her eyes to see Bubblebeam climbing down the tree, and the rabbit she had caught a whiff of darting into a hole. ‘Dang it!’ She growled to herself before turning to her fairly new friend. “Great catch Bubblebeam.” She purred, flicking her tail across the other warrior’s back.

Harespring followed after the patrol that he was assigned to, deciding to take up the rear. While this might have been a hunting patrol, they couldn't risk anything. They needed to keep their eyes and ears open at all times. He flicked his eyes to the rest of his patrol, giving them a once over for any signs of injury, stress, or anything really. He didn't know much about the rest of them aside from his grandmother, but he was going to keep an eye out for them regardless.
Eventually came the point where they split off to hunt. He made sure to keep an ear out for them, even as he hunted down his own prey. A simple squirrel. Nothing too grand, but food was food. He swiftly caught the creature, burying it quickly so he could keep an eye on his clanmates.
