"Tigerstar!" Sootstorm's voice broke through the dim chatter of the camp. His gaze swept across the crowds of his clanmates for signs of his brother. Misty, the stray she-kit he had found in WindClan territory, was behind him, kept in place by the tip of his tail which rested on her back. He didn't know how his clanmates would react to the strange kit, and from what he could see, Misty hadn't been able to keep still for long either.

Unfortunately, Misty was not keen on staying silent. Sootstorm hurriedly shushed the she-kit, then blinked apologetically at the cats who had received her words. It didn't take long for Tigerstar to answer his call, and Sootstorm hurriedly began recounting how he had found a kit, alone, in WindClan territory. "I understand that it was not my place to decide, but... I offered Misty-- that's her name-- a place in WindClan. The Warrior Code states that we should care for all kits, and I myself did not have the heart to turn a kit away knowing they did not have even a parent to care for them. I apologise," He added, his voice soft and low so that only his brother could hear. Perhaps Tigerstar would be mad, but... perhaps not. His brother was reasonable; surely, he would understand that Sootstorm had no choice but to invite the kit into their Clan. WindClan could afford to feed an extra mouth, couldn't they?

"Yes, Tigerstar," Sootstorm replied, bowing in thanks before hurrying out of camp to find Misty. He couldn't have her be out of his sights for too long, or StarClan knows what she'll get herself into. He was glad that Tigerstar was quick to accept the kit into the Clan, though he didn't know how he was supposed to care for the kit on top of all his other duties. He wouldn't really have to, not with her being with the queens most of the time, right?

"Yes, you're staying. Come with me to the nursery, Misty, I'll introduce you to the queens. Tomorrow, you'll get your Clan name-- that'll mark you as one of us, officially," Sootstorm purred, using his tail to guide the she-kit back to camp with him. She'll be safe now that she was part of a Clan, though he reminded himself to send out a patrol searching for her parents. Not because he didn't trust that she was lying to him, but because kits could sometimes get confused.
