Nightstalker lead his clan past Thunderclans borders and into Shadowclan territory, the muck oozing through his toes, but he couldn't care less. They were finally home! The sun was just setting as they moved forwards as one, those still injured or ill, supported on both sides by their clan-mates. Nothing could or would stop the Shadowclanners from reclaiming their home. Nightstalker gave a sigh of relief as the last bit of light disappeared from the sky, they were deep in Shadowclan territory now, their camp not far from where they were.
It took Nightstalker a long moment to realize when they had finally gotten to their camp, their thorn barriers in shambles, and their dens demolished, if it hadn't been for the jagged rock, medicine cat den, and the leader's den... his den, he wasn't sure he'd even manage to recognize it. Leading them in, Nightstalker allowed them to disperse and take things at their own pace, while he made his way to the top of the jagged rock.
"Cats of Shadowclan. We have been through so much, our home swept away, and Froststar is gone. But let it be known that for all of our trials and tribulations, we have persevered, and for that Shadowclan shows its strengths in ways that are unmatched. I am proud of all of you, who have struggled and yet have come out on top. We shall hunt, and for this first night, we will just... relax. You have all been working so hard for too long, so we will put off our repairs and our worries for one night. That is all." Nightstalker meowed before hopping down from the meeting rock and finding his gaze being drawn to the leader's den.

Thalia padded after Nightstalker without complaint, happy to be back in what had once been her home. It was different, and there was plenty of work to be done, but it was home; and there was some small joy to be taken from that, whatever else might follow. Finding the sun in the darkness, a bright spot of light in a world that so often felt so dark. Leopardsun listened and forced herself to stand tall and proud as Nightstalker spoke, though as he finished talking she let herself collapse gracelessly. There was no shortage of work to do, but she was at least trying to take Honeypaw's advice to heart- to take time to rest, instead of working herself to death. ShadowClan was home, where they belonged, and while she was grateful to Briarstar and SkyClan, there was nothing in all the world that could compare to the muddy hollow of ShadowClan's camp.
Nothing except her sister, who was still missing. She put no faith in StarClan, but she hoped and she prayed to every cat whose name she could recall that Vixenpaw would be alright on her own a while longer.
Instead, she surveyed the ruined camp; already thinking of improvements that might be done when they rebuilt it. With luck, they could make things better than before.
What once was ours, a place to call home, in time will be again. We're back where we belong- isn't that a perfect starting line?

❒ Forestbreeze hadn't felt this relieved for a while now. They were heading back home as a reunited clan and he had no words for how much he'd missed this. He was well aware that there were long days ahead of them—dealing with the camp's reconstruction and fortification would be no simple task. He also knew more than the others due to his investigations of the camp alongside Echomist not too long ago. For now, he could only see the light at the end of the tunnel. The darkest days were behind them now and things could only go up now.
❒ The clan began to settle down wherever they could as Nightstalker made his way up onto the Jagged Rock, Forest was no exception. He sat down and looked at the camp's entrance to see if he could spot Iceheart and Honeypaw so they could sit together. Once he spotted their familiar figures, he waved at them with a paw and offered a smile. They were all seated just in time for the dark-furred tom atop the rock to begin the meeting.
❒ Nightstalker's words gave him hope. Losing Froststar had been tough for the clan and will leave a hole in their hearts for a long while. However, they needed to move forward. Froststar would've wanted them to do so. He loved his clan wholeheartedly and always wanted the best for them. The warrior smiled sadly as he remembered the first time he ever met Shadowclan's former leader. He was but a little kitten who was lonely and grieving. Frostgaze, as he was back then, offered him his nest to rest in so he wouldn't be so alone. That moment of warmth and the feeling of true safety stuck with him ever since. Despite his rather stoic exterior, Frost was kind-hearted and he showed his love rather than speaking it. Actions speak louder than words, after all.

Lightpaw padded into camp at Snowfoot’s side. Wow, was it ever a mess! Snowfoot sighed a bit, muttering under her breath. “Look at this place, it’s a wreck. I’m sorry, Lightpaw, boys,” she mewed, nodding to her kits. “I’m sorry I couldn’t keep you from this.” Suddenly Lightpaw stepped directly in front of Snowfoot. “Hey. Mom. Mom, stop. Look around. Yeah, we gotta rebuild. It may seem hopeless, but we’ll get by just fine. Please, don’t blame yourself. And that goes for everyone,” she added, raising her voice a bit and looking around. “When did you get so wise?” Snowfoot asked her daughter, an eyebrow (or the feline equivalent) raised in surprise. Lightpaw shrugged, and simply ran off to what was left of the apprentice den. Even if the heavy work wasn’t to start yet, she still needed to toss her soaked nest and get a new temporary one made.

Echomist had already knew what to expect when arriving back at camp, due to his investigations with Forestbreeze. Still.. he couldn't help but be stressed by what he saw even if he didn't show it. They had so much work to do.. his paws itched to go ahead and get started but with what Nightstalker just aid it wasn't a good idea. They needed rest after their trip back, they needed to eat. For now the tom took a seat next to Leopardsun, his fur almost brushing hers. Green eyes looking at the ruin of camp, just calculating everything that needed to be done.

The feel of the muck and marsh under her paws was a welcome one after the days of travel and being in Thunderclan's heavy undergrowth. Still, there was a distinctly subdued air about Harechaser as she followed her clanmates back towards their home. They were nearing camp, and she couldn't help but feel nervous about what they might find. The barrier that had always stood strong around the edges of camp was in shambled, as was much of the camp itself. "This... is a mess." But it was their mess. They were home.
As daunting as the prospect of cleanup seemed, Nightstalker's words were comforting. He was right, too. Shadowclan would recover from this, they were strong.

It might have been a little muddy, and it might have been wrecked by the flood, but he was home.
The black tuxedo's eyes immediately darted to the medicine den. The herbs that used to be neatly packed inside were gone, save for a couple soggy leaves here and there. The den, which used to look so sturdy, had numerous cracks in its structure. It would take time before it had returned to normal. And compared to the other dens - many of them not even existing anymore - it was one of the luckier dens.
Man, there's a ton of work to be done. The black tuxedo didn't really mind, though; as time passed, they would be able to get ShadowClan camp back to its former condition, maybe make it even better than before. Soon, we gonna be be sleepin' in dens and nests again, have a fully stocked meddie den, and an overflowing fresh-kill pile. All that we need is time.

Fuzzybelly weaved behind Rookfire. The black tom was a medicine cat himself many a moon ago. He worried endlessly about Basilbloom; he hadn’t heard from her in moons. She already wasn’t doing well after she got really sick…
Mud stuck to his fluffy paws. He approached the medicine den, gawking at the damage.
Their stores were completely destroyed. They couldn’t even use the poppy seeds, if they could even find them. The formerly sturdy den creaked in a way that made him uncomfortable. The damage was immense, beyond compare, endlessly reaching across all of camp.
Fuzzybelly nodded, thinking of when he took Fogfeather to get his name, looking through the brush lands to see the marsh ooze like blisters. Festering, stewing, swirling. The tendrils of swamp water would have killed any cat idiotic enough to try to take the land.
But StarClan saved them.
It was through StarClan that they could even be here at all. ShadowClan was never meant for the rocky terrain of SkyClan or the forest undergrowth of ThunderClan. They were ShadowClan, cats of the night, of stealth.
The medicine cat wracked his brain, trying to think of what herbs would have been the least damaged by the flooding. Perhaps once the warriors had a place to sleep, he’d show them a thing or two about collecting and using herbs.

Honeypaw
Home.
They were finally home, and Honeypaw felt weak with relief. Taking in the destruction that had ravaged their camp made him feel exhausted and weak in the paws, but they could handle it. They had come this far as a clan, they would continue to move forward. It was with a pang that he remembered that Froststar would not be joining them, that he would never see his home again. Honeypaw may not have known Froststar personally, but he had been Honeypaw’s leader for nearly as long as Honeypaw could remember. While he was sure things would still be alright with Nightstalker leading them, it still felt wrong not to see Froststar being the one to give the announcement of their return. Still, Nightstalker had been deputy for nearly as long, and Honeypaw knew he would make a good leader.
He stayed pressed against Iceheart as they padded into camp, purring softly and so happy to be close to her once more. When he saw Forestbreeze already waiting for them in camp, he bounded down to join him, pressing against him and letting out another happy purr. He was home. They would fix the problems present in their camp soon enough. For now, Honeypaw was just grateful to be reunited with the cats most important to him, and to have the chance to rebuild.

Iceheart has never been one for much physical affection. She has never enjoyed sticking close with other cats. She has always stayed on her own with a distance. But now as they made the trek home, she did not push Honeypaw away. She welcomed his warm touch and enjoyed the soft touch of his fur. She had missed him for so long, and she welcomed every reminder that he was here with her. The moment he bounded off to Forestbreeze, she hurried to their side as well so the trio could remain together.
She met Nightstalker’s gaze only briefly and she gave him a confident nod in acknowledgment. Nighstalker would be a good leader, she knew it. If he chose a good deputy to remain at his side, then all would be well.
