Sootstorm crouched down, ready to leap onto the Tallrock, but as he did so his paws hit the side of the rock at an awkward angle, causing him to stumble clumsily forward while he tried to regain his balance and not slip down the rock. After a few heartbeats of slipping on the half-frozen rock, he finally managed to get a proper grip and haul himself onto the rock. He shook out his fur, embarrassed, and settled down swiftly to call together the Clan. "Let all cats old enough to run the moors gather around the Tallrock for a clan meeting!" His words were rushed ever so slightly, but it would remain unnoticable except to those who knew him the best.

| Oakkit was the first to exit the nursery, and with blinding speed. Mama had been telling him he'd grown as big as a bear, and he'd heard this same meeting call lead to his fellow kits becoming apprentices, so that meant today was a big day! It was his apprentice ceremony, it had to be! Oakkit took a few laps around his gathering clanmates in an attempt to burn out some of his excitement, but as he settled down next to his slow mom the kit found it hard to remain still. Even as the queen smoothed down the fur on his head Oakkit was bobbing up and down. He couldn't wait any longer! "Readyyy!" Even before Sootstorm could spot the kit in the crowd, the shrill shriek of excitement broke through the air and alerted him of Oakkit's presence. The deputy laughed silently to himself as the kit's mother scolded him. Most kits this age had learnt at least to hold in their eagerness for the duration of the ceremony, but perhaps Oakkit happened to be even more excited than his peers. "Oakkit, step forward. You have now reached the age of six moons and are ready to become an apprentice. From now on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Oakpaw. Fennelbreeze will be your mentor," He recited the ceremonial words, and ended it with a nod in his mate's direction. He hoped that she wouldn't mind him passing yet another duty to her; there really were few warriors left in WindClan that could take on the surge of new apprentices.
