Another day, another kit - another apprentice ceremony. More importantly, another warrior was assigned as a mentor. She had grown more and more concerned with each passing apprentice ceremony. Would there be enough warriors to train all of these kits? Is there enough prey?

Anxiety swirled in her stomach, but she took her usual spot in the camp clearing. Any kit deserves to be apprenticed and appreciated! She insisted, hoping to reassure herself. It's not their fault that there are so many of them.

She waited patiently for her brother, Morningmoon - and her heart held out for Cricketpaw. I wonder if he would sit with me or his friends. She mused, glancing up at Sootstorm.

Mistykit stepped out of the nursery with a blank face and with no hurry at all as Sootstorm called all the cats for a ceremony. Another one? she thought. Ceremonies were now the usual, which made her hold less respect for the cat apprenticed. Usually, it would be a special moment, but now apprentice ceremonies came day by day, quicker than ever. She sat with the rest of the cats, shuffling her paws in boredom. She noticed Dandelionkit among the crowd. Why did he have a worried look on his face? She nearly felt sympathetic towards him.

Eveningmoon had, in all honestly, not been paying that much attention. It wasn't that she didn't care, or wasn't excited but it was hard to shake the feeling that had plagued most of her apprenticeship - the shame whenever a ceremony would happen and her name wouldn't be called. A new apprentice was just another denmate who would pass her in training, and every warrior ceremony confirmed those fears until hers had been called. She was a warrior now and it was exciting and terrifying at the same time...But she would have time to get used to things, figure out her role in the Cla-did her name just get called?

Her head shot up, eyes widening in surprise and terror as her mind raced to put together what had just happened. She could see Mistykit in the camp center - no, Mistypaw. It was an apprentice ceremony certainly - it was Sootstorm doing it but for her name to be called meant... Her ears slicked back, a whimper escaping her as she stared up at the deputy with a flicker of betrayal. Her? A mentor? S-She didn't know the first thing about training an apprentice! She couldn't fight! She couldn't... She swallowed, fighting the rising fear as she pushed herself to her paws and stepped from the crowd to meet Mistypaw half way, nervously leaning down to touch noses but her eyes remained fixed on Sootstorm - clearly asking a single question.
