You can’t fix the past, but you can change the future.
OOC: topic inspired by KjSage's skyclan territory tour topic
He knew that his kits would possibly consider WindClan territory the same way he might view the lake territories: land where he did not belong. After all, they had been born on the mountains, and spent their entire kithood travelling from one place to another. What was this land to them but another place to stay for a couple of nights? Well, as his kits, that simply would not do. As soon as he could, a patrol was arranged for him to bring them around his homeland and let them know just how great this land was. If only it was Greenleaf, with all the flowers in full bloom.
As he got ready for the patrol, the idea struck him that he should invite the rest of his clanmates along. Many of his clanmates had no more familiarity with the land than his kits. Well, they were WindClan, so they'd better know the land like they knew their own name! The patrol was therefore announced to the rest of the Clan, inviting anyone who may need it to join them. Sootstorm waited until everyone had gathered, then began leading the way out of camp.
A sharp chill hung in the air as Oatpaw padded toward the deputy. It seemed nobody else had gathered yet, but Oatpaw was doing his best to hide his excitement - he was absolutely raring to go. After being tentatively allowed out on the territory by Daisyfang, he was thrilled at the prospect of getting to know his true home. The older cats seemed to tread the territory without a second thought, moving by muscle memory through the moor under even the heaviest blanket of darkness and snow, and he longed to know any place so well that he might place his paws along even the rockiest paths without a second thought.
The herbs he'd been given had been no miracle cure. He was still weak, still easy winded, but at least he wasn't coughing up his own blood. His fever had finally broke, and he was almost thrilled to find that he needed to bush his fur out to protect him against the cold. He wasn't soaked to the bone with sweat any longer, but speckled gently with the refreshing dampness of falling snow. His ears perked up, and he couldn't maintain his self-control any longer; he bounded the last few foxlengths to Sootstorm, flicking his tail against the deputy's shoulder gently.
"Come on, sleepyheads!" He called affectionately, willing his Clanmates to hurry up and gather. Let's go!

Cloudypetal was one of those cats who hesitated to embrace their 'new' - well, old, home. She had been born in the lake territories. Raised in them. Explored them, with or without clanmates. Her paws yearned to feel the grass of their old moor and she'd give up anything to hear the lake splashing against the shore.
Though, she was willing to try. She didn't hesitate to join this patrol to introduce herself to their true home. Her kits would grow up here, and their kits. She'd train apprentices here. The least she could do was try. Plus, Oatpaw's energy made it a lot easier. It'll be fun! I think.
She waited patiently for the rest of the group to gather, mumbling to herself. "I wonder what we'll see first?" She pondered. A giant badger. That's it! The biggest badger you ever saw. She nodded, affirming her own thoughts as though she was a kit. A badger would be interesting.

Galestorm
Galestorm had caught wind of the territory tour Sootstorm was organizing, and after days of camp repairs, he was eager to be out on the moor with the chilly wind ruffling through his fur, the crunch of fresh snow underpaw. He raced over to the gathering group and gave his sister a warm greeting.
"Hey, Cloudypetal," he chirped, headbutting her shoulder. "Sootstorm, Oatpaw," he greeted, nodding in turn to each cat. Despite the exhaustion in his bones from his tireless work, Galestorm was in a great mood. He held in his mind the images of the moor that Sageleaf had shown him in his dream. Anxiety surrounded the gorge he knew they would see, the very gorge where Sageleaf had to kill her own bother, Slatethroat, in self-defence. The visions had been a warning to Galestorm, alongside Daisyfang's eerie omen. It made him all the more morbidly curious about the gorge. I have memories of this place, he thought, a place where I have never set paw. As his fur began to stand on end, he shook out his pelt. Cloudypetal is on the right path now, he reminded himself, so there's no need to fear the visions anymore.
As he padded alongside Cloudypetal, there was nowhere else he'd rather be.
