When Newtface had discovered that he had received his first apprentice, he had been half ecstatic and half irritated. The only reason why he was a bit annoyed was that he hoped that he wouldn't receive one of those exasperating, whiny, kit-like apprentices. He would probably end up going insane before he was complete with training his apprentice if Kestrelpaw was annoying. The speckled calico tom padded out of the warriors' den and blinked a couple of times to let his eyes get adjusted to the sudden change of lighting. He crossed the camp and headed towards the apprentices' den with a neutral expression on his face. Poking his head into the den, he glanced around until he spotted Kestrelpaw.
"Hey, Kestrelpaw," He quietly called, "Get up, it's time for me to show you the territory."
With that, Newtface silently turned and headed towards the camp exit so that he could wait for his apprentice.

Kestrelpaw awoke, startled when his name was called. He got up and quietly walked out of the warrior's den. The tom assumed it was his mentor who had woken him up. He held back his excitement as he padded toward Newtface. Once he had finally reached his destination, the apprentice decided to greet his mentor. "Good morning Newtface! I'm here!" The tom didn't speak too loud because that might annoy him. He didn't know how Newtface was like but he didn't want to create a bad first immpression.

Newtface nodded, slowly. So far, the young tom didn't seem so bad. However, the warrior knew that he'd be able to make his final judgment after he had finished the tour. He put on a small smile as he looked down at Kestrelpaw.
"Good morning," He began, "C'mon, let's go."
Did he have a plan in mind? Not really. All he knew was that he was going to let his paws guide him naturally around the territory, and he'd point out important landmarks along the way. He knew that he'd have to stop by the borders, Carrionplace, and Carrionplace. Swiftly turning around, the speckled tom made his way out of camp and looked over his shoulder to make sure that Kestelpaw was following close behind.

Kestrelpaw was right behind Newtface. He had a small smile on his face. The young tom couldn't wait to see all the cool places on Shadowclan territory. As he walked with his mentor, he was looking around in awe. He couldn't believe that he was finally out of the camp.

"I'm gonna go ahead and guess that this is your first time out. I had the exact same expression that you did when it was my first time out of camp."
Newtface couldn't help but softly grin to himself. Time seemed to have passed by so fast. He was already a warrior with an apprentice of his own and a cat that he liked. The great thing was, she liked him back. Rosepaw... how was she? The two of them hadn't spoken in a while. Maybe, after he was done showing Kestrelpaw around, Newtface would take the she-cat out to hunt with him.
"Our territory is very wet. Not wet like RiverClan, but wet as in marshy and muddy. We use this to our advantage, though. You'll find a lot of frogs and toads around here, since they like the muddy atmosphere."
The warrior glanced back at Kestrelpaw to make sure he was still following him. By this time, he had a general idea of what landmarks he was near, and Newtface knew which one was coming up first.

After the two toms had padded on through the territory for a bit longer, the strong reek of fumes from monsters mercilessly flooded the calico's nose. He couldn't help but cringe a bit due to the smell. When the dangerous and terrifying black path came into view, Newtface stopped abruptly and held his tail erect as a signal for his apprentice to stop. Almost on cue, a huge, red monster went flying past the mentor and apprentice duo. It sped along the Thunderpath and eventually disappeared from sight. The tortoiseshell warrior glanced down at Kestrelpaw.
"This is the Thunderpath," He began, with seriousness in his tone, "It reeks of fumes from the brightly colored monsters that race along it. A lot of cats have been hit by these creatures, and they die almost immediately. Only lucky ones survive, but they make it out with serious injuries. Luckily, we have a way to get to the other side without having to cross the Thunderpath," Newtface glanced over in the direction of the tunnel underneath the black path, "The territories on the other side belong to ThunderClan and WindClan. This isn't a good place to try and memorize their scents since the smell of the Thunderpath is so strong."

OOC: Sorry for the delay! I was loaded with homework and projects!

IC: Kestrelpaw had been taking in all the sights and important places Newtface had been showing him. He wanted to be filled with knowledge by the time he became a mentor. He was about to try and scent out Windclan and Thunderclan in the tunnel but Newtface cut in and began to explain. The young tom nodded to show his mentor that he understood. He wondered where the older tom would be taking him next.

Newtface flicked his speckled tail as a signal for Kestrelpaw to follow him. He walked alongside the edge of the Thunderpath, but not too close, and nodded once the tunnel came into view. He glanced over his shoulder briefly to make sure that his apprentice was following, and then he turned and padded into the tunnel that was underneath the Thunderpath. He could still hear the roaring of the monsters as they zoomed past, but he felt safe knowing that it was all above him. The scent of the Thunderpath wasn't as strong now, and the tom could easily pick up the scents of WindClan and ThunderClan. He padded close to the border, but he didn't pass it.
"Kestrelpaw," He began, "Tell me what smells you can detect."
