Quailpaw strode with her shoulders back and proud. Next to Mottlestar they roamed, her nose scenting the air. "Do you think we will find anything?" She questioned the leader, unsure if they would even be able to fill a kit's belly today.

Mottlestar followed aside her apprentice. Admittedly, she hadn't been able to spend nearly as much time with Quailpaw as she would have liked. However, before they left, she wanted to ensure her apprentice was prepared for whatever would come their way. Looking about, her tail flicked. "I hope so. See if there's anything in those crevices." She instructed, pointing towards some of the hollowed-out tubes that would hopefully hold prey.

Quailpaw nodded, and slowly neared a crevice, looking in. Low and behold, a skinny squirrel was nested in a crevice, startling with a sqeak. Lashing out her paw, Quailpaw dragged the squirrel out and finishing it quickly. "Caught one!" She said, almost smugly.
