Wigglepaw entered the clearing shortly after Mottlestar, stumbling slightly as his paws dragged heavily over the dew-laden grass. It had been some time now since the famine first began and despite knowing and hunting in the forest in its prime, he could barely recall the feeling of a full belly these days. Now, it was just the ever-gnawing jaws of hunger that gripped him. It was like an illness, almost, one that seemed to spread and infect everything it touched. Wigglepaw steadied himself, wavering only slightly now, and trudged into the center of the clearing, his dark brown eyes landing almost instantly on Bluepaw.
He'd met the tom, and they played some as kits, but he'd never really gotten a chance to spend time with the smaller apprentice aside from that. With Cloudychase having been such a strict mentor, the beginning of his apprenticeship had been dedicated entirely to training. Now, under Sageroot, he had more time for his clanmates. Wigglepaw hesitated for a moment, then padded to Bluepaw's side. He should really make the most of the time he had. Between the cold setting in and the pain twisting his stomach, he wasn't sure how much of Thunderclan would survive.
With a deep sigh, Wigglepaw planted himself beside the white and brown tom, his tail curling around himself in an attempt to keep warm. The leaf-fall weather, while not terribly chilly, felt like thorns digging into his thin body. Peering down at the other tom, Wigglepaw offered a shaky smile, his pelt puffed out to shield him from the cool air. "Bluepaw." He dipped his head, almost awkwardly, and looked to the side, taking in their boney pelts and hollow eyes. "Are you feeling alright?" He asked, turning back to look at Bluepaw with wide, sincere eyes.

Bluepaw was pulled from his thoughts as his friend Wigglepaw came over, Bluepaw watched as he fluffed up his furry pelt. He must be just as cold as I am. His lanky tail flicked back and forth before slowing down as he settled in next to his friend and mimiced his tail tuck acting as a blanket of sorts.
"I'm just so tired of being cold and hungry all the time. And we haven't even gotten to the worst of leafbear yet." he meowed quietly not wanting to bring down the mood any lower for everyone else. But Wigglepaw had asked and deserved the truth enough:
"I feel like my training has stalled... I haven't even caught any live prey yet every time we go out I either miss or we get attacked by something"
he gave a shrug and tried to force a smile "I hope your training is going better?"
He wished he could have spent more time with Wigglepaw recently, as kits they had known each other fairly well but with the busy schedules of training he hadn't kept up with his friend as well he would have liked to have done.

Perchstar felt like she was dragging herself by the scruff everywhere she went. If the dizziness from heat had been bad, this vertigo from lack of food and water was even worse. Their rationed pools were running out. Little had been found by either research patrol so far. Her Clan was going to die if this continued, as much as even thinking the word made her want to vomit the few bites she'd forced herself to stomach. This was getting worse and worse... with no sign of help from the stars. Surely a catastrophe on this wide a scale could not simply be a punishment for her singular transgression. This was either the wrath of the stars on every cat in the forest, or otherwise their simply astonishing negligence. What was to be done? Not even an empty word of comfort had been offered from their ancestors. Ivystar, Cloverheart, Hollyleaf... were they watching? Did they care?
She was so tired that for the first time that she could remember, she actually struggled to get onto the Great Rock. Luckily only ThunderClan was here at the moment; hopefully they didn't notice. Scenery blurred before her eyes as she missed her first jump, then tried again and barely caught the edge of the Great Rock. A few undignified steps later and she was finally next to Mottlestar. Perchstar blinked hazily, attempting to refocus her gaze on what was in front of her. She had to be professional. She had to be regal. She had to be strong for her Clan. However, her mind was so foggy that she forgot even to greet her ally, instead simply staring at the rock floor beneath her white paws as if the words of empathy in her head had already been spoken aloud.
RiverClan may now enter the Gathering!

Crocuspaw padded into the gathering after Mottlestar, now nearly her full-grown size this time, but there was still a bit of growing to do. So far it was mostly just Thunderclan, but Riverclan was slowly starting to make its way in. Crocuspaw decided that she wasn't really up for socializing but that wasn't something super avoidable in big events such as these, so she grabbed a prime sitting spot and puffed out her fur, a little more chilly than she'd like to admit.
OOC: Rolling for Crocuspaw, Nightstalker is exempt.

Cinderpaw had to drag herself to this gathering. She had debated feigning illness to not go and to stay in the den, to sleep away the hunger pains as she had grown so accustomed to doing. Yet all the same, she didn't think she'd be able to forgive herself for not going. The gathering, while it did unsettle her nerves and make her breath tense, had a charm to it she couldn't find anywhere else. The mingling with others, the shared struggles. She liked it all, seeing other clans.
But this time around, she gravitated toward her own. That pep in her step that had become so signature of her was fading, her tail still high but with a droop. Her head ached, stomach gnawed at her. But she could do it. Her eyes followed on til she found the black-white blend of fur in the crowd that was the familiar Larkpaw, and no doubt Rookpaw not too far away.
"Do you mind if I stay near you tonight?" She asked quietly, meeting his gaze only for a second before casting sidelong on the ground once more. Too tired. Today was busy, but she'd try for him as best she could. "I don't want to mingle much today, but if you do, I'll follow you but hang back."
Cinderpaw is sticking to Larkpaw and Rookpaw this gathering.

This Gathering seemed particularly pointless, though all of them did. Wasting the energy to shepherd her Clan to Fourtrees, asking them to waste their own, just to stand on a Rock and relish in the entire forest's mutual suffering. Birdstar would have laughed over it, if she'd had the energy. As it were, she only had enough to focus on placing one paw in front of the other. Bitter and bleary-eyed as she was, she was determined to be sure in her steps as she led SkyClan on this fool's errand. She could only hope this would be one of the year's few Gatherings that did not descend into chaos hardly an hour after the Clans' arrivals, but with a dread chill in the air that sank through her coat, Birdstar couldn't find it in herself to be truly hopefully.
Thankfully, she found ThunderClan and RiverClan were the only others present as they reached the clearing. There was some relief in their familiar presences, but a heavy blanket of self-loathing settled over it, smothering any comfort she might have felt. Sighing, Birdstar bit at her tongue until the pressure cleared the fog from her vision then persisted down the hill. She made it to her place on the Rock in one leap, generations of well-bred muscle powering her spring, but her claws scrabbled as she hauled herself into place and there was a sway to her posture as she settled. The pangs of hunger did not stir often-- or Birdstar did not notice them often, grown used to them enough that the gnaw faded into an ambient sense --but the stab pierced her now, coiling in her hollow stomach. Grimacing, Birdstar turned to the other leaders present, offering each of them a polite nod and a simple, weary, "Hello."
SkyClan may enter the Gathering!

Her first Gathering as a warrior… how exciting was that? Bubblenose beamed brighter than any of the sun’s rays ever could as she padded into Fourtrees. Nothing could possibly ruin this night for her, or she at least hoped so. The clearing was familiar and yet many cats were brand new faces. She supposed that element of surprise was one of the best parts of a Gathering.

Thymepaw’s opinion on Gatherings was rather neutral now. She enjoyed the stroll to Fourtrees and the small talk with cats her age, but there was always the possibility of something going wrong or someone getting hurt despite the sacred truce. She also disliked hearing about the struggles of the other Clans, but only because she actually cared about them. It pained her to hear that anyone in the forest was having a hard time. Good health and a full stomach was all she hoped that the Clans, including her own, would receive.
