Bloodstrike managed to make his way back to Skyclan camp just before the sun was due to sip below the horizon and darken the sky for the night. Bloodstrike, for once, was anxious, uncertain and at a loss of what to do as he entered the confines of camp. He hid his anxiety well, telling the guard to let everyone know he'd returned. He didn't need a big welcoming party. As a matter of fact, the old, scarred tom didn't want one. His stomach had twisted from days of fear when he found out what the twolegs had done to him. It was worse than the last time he had gone to the cutter. A few warriors greeted him and Bloodstrike smiled politely, but anyone who really knew him could tell his smile was forced. Those with very keen observation skills could tell that he was more than just anxious. He was shaken to his very core, but had no desire to speak of it.
He was careful to walk normally and hide his recent... tragedy. He didn't know how to tell Birdstar. He didn't know how to tell Wolfblossom. He didn't know if he even would. But would that be right? Should he have even come home? Should he have just thrown himself to a pack of dogs instead? He had only wanted to come home in the last few days that he'd been gone... but now that he was here he felt like he'd done something very wrong. He started to move toward the warrior's den, claiming fatigue. It was all he could do to not explode into a full blown panic.

Beechfang had gotten back from patrol and was settled near the edge of camp when movement and the sound of pawsteps near the camp entrance caught her attention. The big, battle-scarred tom was not who she expected to see coming through the camp entrance, but her father's appearance immediately uplifted her mood.
"Dad!" She mewed, "You're back!" Beechfang was relieved to see her father had escaped the twolegs, but at the same time, something about him seemed... Off. Then again, something was always off with cats who found themselves captured by twolegs for a bit. Anxious, but this seemed like... More. Forcing the thought to the side for now, she padded forward, bumping her father's shoulder with her head. "I am so glad you got out of there... I was wondering if I'd have to go back there myself."

Birdstar
The hunting patrol he’d been apart of made Birdstar aware of Bloodstrike’s disappearance as soon as they returned to camp. It worried her, naturally. Patrols in the days that followed were ordered to keep an eye out, both for the senior warrior and for signs of more twolegs, more traps. She’d had enough of their ilk crawling around the forest. She’d had enough of losing family. He was well capable of handling himself, even if age started to wear on his bones… he was capable.
And able to prove it. Birdstar watched over camp from her favorite spot beneath the Tallbranch when he suddenly emerged from the thorns, more quiet and careful than she’d ever seen him. Birdstar blinked in slow surprise, watching as Beechfang loped over to greet him. She held herself in place for a few moments before rising to pad over. “Bloodstrike,” she greeted simply, offering a nod to both cats as she approached. “I’m relieved to see you back. I hope you’re well, considering,” did he seem flighty? Birdstar shook her head and awkwardly finished, “Well, considering twolegs are rarely kind. Kind enough to let you come home, I suppose.”
