TOURNAMENT BATTLE #5: Duckpaw vs Rookpaw

A huff escaped Duckpaw at the gentle paw being put on their head, ear twitching at Rookpaw's words. Confident, huh? Giving their head a shake as they slowly rolled to their paws, doing their best to find the strength and energy to stand up. As tired as they were - sleeping in the sparring area was likely a bad choice. If they couldn't shake this tiredness off, they could just find a nice corner to nap in...But there was a pang of sadness - after a fight like that, they wanted to see how Rookpaw would fare in their next fight...What if they slept through it?

They didn't... They shook their head, trying once again to get rid of the tiredness that was weighing them down but it refused to leave - sinking into their very bones. A soft, tired huff escaped them as they pushed past Rookpaw, managing a smile anyways. "Fair enough, you did wipe the floor with me - but I wish it all the same," they murmured before giving a curt nod to Perchstar before shuffling off to go scout out where to rest until this entire tournament was over.

Perchstar had been watching from the sidelines while the two battled. She immediately noted Duckpaw's drowsiness. Had the apprentice not gotten enough sleep beforepaw? It would be difficult to fall asleep during a fight. Maybe that was just her insomnia speaking. However, the fight remained even and fair until Rookpaw was victorious. Perchstar allowed herself a brief moment of pride in her apprentice as she strode forward to end the battle. "Good job, both of you," the leader said. "And congratulations, Rookpaw. Do what you must to prepare yourself for your next fight."
