Bubblekit's Apprentice Ceremony

Drizzlepaw raised her head at the sound of Poppyshine’s call. The wispy-pelted molly rose to her paws, trotting over and sitting underneath the Willow Branch. Which young kit would be apprenticed today? Perhaps the two scamps that she’d interacted with some time ago, Duskkit and Dawnkit? Or maybe some other kit that she didn’t really know; after Lavenderpaw had finally been allowed to move out of the nursery, Drizzlepaw had spent much less time around the kits and queens. A new denmate sounded like an exciting prospect, however, and so she carefully licked down the fur on her chest, wanting to make a good first impression.

What was it like to be an apprentice? Bubblekit’s mind was racing with questions and overflowing with curiosity as she followed her mother out of the nursery and headed toward the Willow Branch with the rest of her Clanmates. Today, the entirety of RiverClan would be gathered to celebrate her and her new name. She was overjoyed. Attention was great, but only when it was about her. Her pelt was smooth and shiny, freshly groomed by her mother who was obviously also excited about the day. It was time for the world that she knew to expand beyond the familiar walls of the camp.

The new warrior had blinked in surprise. Already, she would be a mentor? A look of hesitance passed her features, before schooled into that calm that reflected her mother. It was the mask that Perchstar always seemed to wear, and one that her child had seemed to also pick up on. Padding over to her apprentice, Mistwalker touched her nose gently to that of the smaller molly. "Poppyshine was my mentor, so I will teach you well." She nodded firmly. They'd be a fine duo.
