Padding through the territory and lost in thought, Curlyfluff failed to notice looming eyes that bore into his curl-covered pelt. So much had been going on as of late and with not being a fan of sitting around at camp, he'd decided to go on a patrol and hadn't exactly had a plan on where he wanted to go. So here he was, walking towards the Owl Tree with his attention occupied on nothing in particular.

It was after splitting from a hunting patrol that Jayfrost had picked up the scent. Thunderclan, no doubt. Nearby. At first, his goal was only to investigate. The borders were a place of conflict, especially recently. Tensions were high, and as a warrior of Windclan, it was his job to defend his territory. So, when he spotted a lone cat nearing Windclan's border, his first instinct was to approach. Jayfrost hated Thunderclan, but he wasn't looking to start something he couldn't finish.  

However, the closer he grew, the more the figure became distinguishable. The cat's fur type and color was familiar. Then, when recounting the Thunderclan cats he'd encountered, he remembered the gathering. His fur bristled. It was the curly-furred cat who thought he could intimidate him. His mind was made up. Seemed he'd be fighting Firepaw's friend, in the same spot he'd fought her just days ago. How amusing, he thought.

Just as he'd done to Firepaw, Jayfrost charged from the tall grasses that had been concealing him until this point, colliding with Curlyfluff and pushing him over with all the weight he could manage.

Having not gone anywhere near being past the territory border, the wind being knocked out of him was very much an unwelcomed surprise. Tumbling to the ground and gasping for a breath, the curly-pelted warrior pushed himself up only to see the WindClan tom who'd bullied his friends a couple gatherings ago. The dilute calico had a certain battle-hungry look to his ice-like eyes and the warrior couldn't help but be confused. Why had he attacked him? He hadn't done anything to him, right? Of course, it wasn't like the tom was about to back down and he knew he'd have to fight fire with fire, unfortunately.

Jumping forward, he swung his claws at his opponents soft underbelly. Catching skin, he couldn't help but wince at the fact that violence needed to be used at all. "Why'd you attack me? I didn't cross the border," the lilac warrior huffed as he took a few steps back. Whether or not his opponent answered him was his choice, but his curiosity had gotten the better of him.


Curlyfluff used Belly Rake and was... successful! This dealt -15 + -2 HP and cost -25 SP.

The Windclanner winced as his confrontation was met with claws so quickly. He'd expected Curlyfluff to be caught more off-guard, but he wouldn't let his disappointment show. He only stumbled backwards as his blood wet the earth beneath him, only looking up when he heard the Thunderclanner speak. His icy eyes narrowed. Jayfrost almost couldn't believe it. He was confused? "Don't act like you don't remember who I am, mange-pelt." He sneered, mimicking the tone he used when he'd called him the same thing at the gathering. "You Thunderclanners always want the last laugh, but I won't let you have that. Not this time. Not after what you've done to me." A growl rose in his throat, a manifestation of all the anger and frustration that had come as a result of his leg.

When Curlyfluff backed away, Jayfrost advanced, quickly lashing out and striking the Thunderclanner just as he'd done to him, going over the soft flesh a few times for good measure. The more blood he drew, he more satisfied he felt.
