Just outside of skyclan camps entrence, there was a particularly sunny spot where the sun baked all day long warming up a nice little spot. And in that sunny spot curled up into a loaf was Stormwatcher, passed out in a deep sleep napping away.
Ever since the whole Falcon and Blood thing went down he was content to take his naps away from such nonsense. If the two of them wanted to beat each others pelts off that was fine... Just dont drag him into any of that senseless drama. He would secretly be cheering for Falcon since Blood was just bad news in his mind... being an ex leader Strom wasnt all convinced that he wouldnt try to pull something against Birdstar. He had actually come to like Birdstar somewhat just like he liked wolf somewhat... Both of them were like annoying older sisters that would never give up in ways to annoy him/ put him to work.
In any case thats what he was up to when he heard pawsteps coming over. Peeking an eye upwards there was Stone standing before him...
"hmm my old apprentice?! What's up?" he asked still half asleep.
Well that was the only other cat in this clan he "cared" about... but you wouldnt catch him dead saying that aloud.
With great effort that was greatly dramatized he sat up with a big stretch. "You are blocking the sun standing like that he complained with a slight frown. As much as he cared about her, he wouldnt ever let her know that... far from it, she could hear that she was an annoyance and a someone blocking his sun just by existing.
He narrowed his eyes looking behind her and saw that new cat that had joined them apperently... What was her name again Silver something? Names werent really his thing given that he didnt care too much about many others. The lazy tom frowned more... two of them coming to see him probably meant Wolf thought it would be good for them to go patrol... UGHH patrols were the WORSTTT.
But since he didnt really trust this windclan cat and he defenetly didnt trust Silver around Stone... so he would go with them much to his personal dismay.
He would watch Silver carefully though, if she did anything to hurt stone... well she could find out that when he truly put in effort he could be dangerous.

"Hi Silverwing, ready to go hunting? Stormwatch will be... somewhere." Finding Silverwing to go on the patrol assigned to them had been easy. Finding her former mentor, Stoneheart knew from unfortunate experience, was a bit more of a chore.
Actually, it wasn't finding him that was so bad. It was getting him up and moving, and pulling him from naps that was a chore. Still, someone had to, and once Stormwatcher could be convinced to do something, he at least would do whatever was needed. Even if it was only to get back to napping quicker. It was... something, Stoneheart had to admit. It didn't take long to find her former mentor, right where Stoneheart suspected, napping in a pool of sunlight.
"Stormwatcher!" Stoneheart called out to her former mentor, tone almost cheerful as she spotted the tom. Best to get him up before Wolfblossom came by and noticed, of course. "Oh, don't be so dramatic. Come on, there's hunting to do." She found his antics less amusing than Wolfblossom seemed to, and was a little bit mortified that this was the first impression that Silverwing was probably going to get of her former mentor.

The only response Silverwing gave was an enthusiastic nod. Silverwing was a hunting prodigy, and this was just another chance to show off to her new clanmates. One of those clanmates happened to be the gorgeous Stoneheart, a cat Silverwing had yet to formally meet. This patrol would be the perfect opportunity to impress her! Depending on how well she performed today, she might even return to camp with a new friend, or two!
Silverwing trailed behind Stoneheart, letting the native warrior lead her to their last member. Peeking out from behind the she-cat, Silverwing flashed a smile at Stormwatcher. He was big and fluffy, like most Skyclan's warriors. That much was enough to make her like him, though the frown he shot back at her quickly chased away her friendly smile. Guess he didn't want us to wake him. Or block his access to the sun, it seemed. Stormwatcher already seemed like a lazy, unfriendly tom, but he had only just woke up. Surely he would become more lively once they all set out. The smile returning to her face, Silverwing spoke up. "Yeah, c'mon Stormwatcher! We've got squirrels to chase and birds to catch!"

After another long stretch he blinked slowly at them both... how did they both have so much energy? And why where they so eager to do chores? He rubbed at his eyes a final time with his front paws all groggy still.
"ok ok im up"
hmm the newcommer already wanted to hunt birds and squirrels? hmm maybe this silverwing would fit into skyclan after all. She would probably have to adjust from her usual hunting style of relying on speed to catch the bunnies.
"uh right... hmm windclan doesnt have many trees right?? Can you climb?" he asked silver.
Well most cats probably could climb but he meant like climb like a skyclan cat so climbing while hunting and stuff.
"hmm actually... I have a better idea for you" he grinned a bit to himself liking this alot actually...
Being one of the biggest lumbering warriors in all the clan he dreaded hunting and the major reason was all the effort required... what some of his clanmates called "lazy" he called "carefully using and reserving his energy" It took alot of effort for him to chase after these squirrels.
Thats where silver could come in great actually... the more he thought about this the more he was not so against this outsider perhaps...
"hmm stone and I will climb the trees and scare the squirrels down to the forest floor where you the faster one can run and catch em maybe" he even gave a little grin and nod
"That way everyone plays to their strengths how about"
... I get to hang out in a tree the whole time and you do all the running around... this is about to be the best new hack in all of hunting patrols he thought to himself very content with his pawning off of yet again any possible thing he could... and what was better than pawning it off all while making it seem like he was being a decent fellow? Even wolf couldn't be upset with him for thinking of a new meta of hunting to use the new windclanners speed in the strategy.
"Come on "Stoney kiddo" lets show her around" he purred leading the way towards a spot with high enough trees that if he was lucky enough he could just climb one of the tall ones scare the squirrels down and maybe just chill up there the rest of the time.

"We don't need help to catch prey." Stoneheart scoffed at her mentor, rolling her eyes. "And if she can't climb... there's plenty of ground prey to catch until she learns." She pointed out dryly. She knew her mentor and knew what he was up to. He was insufferable, sometimes.
The fluffy she-cat glanced at Silverwing, a look of apology in her eyes, "Come on, the sooner we get out there, the better." She mewed, turning to lead the way without glancing at Stormwatcher.

Stormchaser's idea didn't sound too bad for the most part, though Stoneheart didn't seem to like it. What was wrong with letting her handle the ground work while they did all that tree climbing stuff? As their group began to depart from camp, Silverwing kept her steps close to Stormwatcher, leaning over when she was sure Stoneheart wouldn't overhear her whispering "I thought it was a good idea." With her opinion voiced, Silverwing's pace quickened until she was next to Stoneheart. More whispering ensued, as she wasn't sure if her next comment would upset the tom behind them. "He said you were his apprentice? No offense, but he seems kinda..." What was the right word? He seemed kind of whiney, but they had woken him from what looked to be a nice nap. The moments of silence that followed grew too long as she struggled to find the perfect word, and Silverwing had no choice but to finish her thought. "Y'know what I mean?" I don't even know what I mean anymore!

Stormwatcher was not suprised that his former apprentice didnt like that idea. She never let him have an easy time did she?
He sighed a bit following along.
He grinned a bit satisfied that at least Silver liked his idea... even if that idea had been to make her do all the running.
"oh thanks..." he purred satisfied.
She ran ahead back to stone whispering something to her that he didnt catch... nor did he want to. Probably just girl talk he figured.
The big warrior sniffed for any signs of prey as they went deeper into skyclan hunting lands.
He wasn't the best hunter but it felt like they should have found something by now.
A while longer and he finally saw a squirrel up above.
"Alright windy cat watch and learn cause next climb is gonna be yours
yea... im gonna "teach" you but in reality I just dont wanna have to do all the climbing... look at me being helpful to the clan and all... even Stone cant argue with that he thought lazily and selfishly to himself. (The bold is his thoughts, you cant hear them)
He had to admit though... he didnt normally like clanmates a whole ton... but silver seemed pretty nice enough and she had liked his idea... maybe he should actually try and not be a total slacker around her. So far... she seemed alot better than his initial thoughts of her were.
He beckoned her over quietly to show her the basics.
"ok so you uhh just sorta grip into the tree like so and push up. Remember to use your hind legs too. The higher up the weaker the branches" he explained. For once he actually tried to do a pretty good job explaining something and even showed her a demonstartion as well to go with it to really try and help the learning.
He probably put more effort into showing his new intrest the climbing techniques than he did for his own apprentice... which he was sure he was gonna hear about later from stone ... but hopefully she would recognize that he was trying to do better now kinda and that so far he kinda liked silver.
"alright ill go for this one and see what I can get" he whispered staying quiet as possible as he climbed up going towards the higher branch the prey was on.
He swatted at it and it was for once a very nice catch by him. He breathed a little sigh of relief that he had not messed that up. He normally wouldnt have cared if he missed but in front of silver it felt different. He couldnt go letting the out of clanner thinking skyclan couldnt catch stuff right?? Yeah thats totally the reason he tried to convince himself.
Getting back down he showed his catch to Silver.
"hmm the elders already ate earlier so if you want you can have it Silver" he purred.
Stormwatcher glanced at Stonewatcher momentarly... she better not mouth off right now mentioning that he never shared his food like this with anyone else before, but knowing his luck...
He narrowed his eyes just slightly at his former apprentice begging her almost to not say anything
