Mentor & Apprentice (CLOSED)

Larkfeather woke up early, stretching his paws. He couldn't sleep that well, as the brown tabby shook out his paws. Well, now is a good time to train Dapplepaw, the warrior thought as he padded to where the apprentices were sleeping, gazing at his young apprentice. "Hey, Dapplepaw," he whispered. "It's time for training." He flicked his tail, ordering the tired apprentice to follow him. "Don't worry, it's not far." he reassured, making himself louder as they got farther away from camp. "Today, we will focus on battle training," he told Dapplepaw. He didn't know how it will go, but she had to learn some time.

Dapplepaw was curled tightly in her now warm nest, her fluffy tail wrapped over her nose. A quiet voice cut through her dreamless sleep, and she blinked open her eyes. The sun had not yet risen above the horizon, and she was confused for a moment until she recognized the figure of her mentor, Larkfeather, standing above her. The sleepiness that tugged at her paws melted away like the morning dew in sunlight, and she silently rose from her nest, being careful not to disturb her sister or any of the other apprentices. Stretching as she stepped out of the makeshift nest of moss and reeds, she let out a yawn before following her mentor away from the still silent camp of many cats.

Once they were out of immediate earshot, her ears swiveled towards Larkfeather as he broke the pre-dawn silence. Her tail tip twitched nervously, the idea of battle was one that didn't much appeal to her, but as the thought of being able to practice with Otterpaw and the others, and be able to fight with them crossed her mind, she pushed the nervous thoughts away. With a nod, she responded. "Alright!" Looking to the warrior expectantly, she remained standing, waiting to see what he would have her do first.
