"Alright, the pine grove is one of the best spots for finding prey in our territory." Moondancer began as she led Ivypaw toward her preferred hunting spot. "Watch closely. In order to catch anything, you'll need to know how to stalk and keep yourself hidden. That means keeping your belly low to the ground but not touching, with your tail, hips and shoulders in a line and your paws evenly spaced for balance. Staying downwind of your prey, so that the wind is blowing away from them and toward you, is also important." Moondancer demonstrated the hunter's crouch, holding it for a few moments for Ivypaw to observe, then stalked forward. A faint rustle nearby caught her attention, and she decided that Ivypaw would learn by example instead of simply trying it on her own first. Hoping the apprentice knew to keep quiet with a look, Moondancer turned her attention toward the rustling and carefully stalked forward. Then she leapt, claws making a quick end to the mouse that had the misfortune of attracting the Shadowclan warrior's attention.

"I think you'll pick things up quickly if you practice." Moondancer padded back toward Ivypaw. "Do you think you can try to catch something now that I've demonstrated?"

Moondancer attempted to catch a mouse (normally 1-6 success chance) for -5 sp. Catch was successful due to the Pine Grove's +2 bonus to success ranges.
