Murkypaw's body seemed rather stiff as she made her way through the Hollow. It wasn't because of any wariness, but simply being so dedicated, all of that tension held itself in her small body. A glare seemed hardened on her face in some unknown anger, but in truth... she was just focused. She wanted to prove to Thistlemask that she knew what she was doing and that she could capture her prey, that she was ready to be a warrior.

So the apprentice continued looking about, searching for prey with her nose until... aha..!

The squirrel's chittering caught her attention, and the apprentice was quick to attempt to make her catch.. only until a hiss caught her attention!

It wasn't the hiss of a snake, but the black and white pattern was one she'd recognize anywhere. The raccoon growled, ready to guard whatever it was that the apprentice had passed by and it seemed that Murkypaw was going to try and take. Even though she wasn't.

"Raccoon! Backup, please!"

Murkypaw attempted to hunt... and found a raccoon!

After her failure to win against Curlypaw during their spar, Firepaw had been out almost daily for practice. Usually against stumps and branches, but it was practice nonetheless.

It was during one of those solo training sessions that Firepaw heard the unmistakable voice of one of her siblings: Murkypaw. The russet she-cat was there in an instant. "Watch out!" She lept over Murkypaw, directly into the Raccoon.

Firepaw used Jumping Strike on the Raccoon dealing an extra 3 damage for hitting first, totalling 9 damage. Cost 7 stamina.

❖ Briarrose had been out hunting, as per one of her usual tasks. Her ears swerved at every sound and her eyes were peeled for any signs of danger. She sniffed around here and there but she had no luck. Prey was difficult to track down during Leaf-bare. The snow didn't help much either. ღ

❖ Before she could go much further, she heard a few rustles then a shout that made her freeze. What the- She listened carefully and heard another voice call out. Someone was in trouble! Her short fur began to rise but she smoothed herself down. Now was not the time. She needed to go over there and help. ღ

❖ The tortoiseshell molly crashed through a few bushes and arrived at the scene. Young Murkypaw and Firepaw were both battling it out with a raccoon. She wasn't all too familiar with these particular apprentices but she's certainly seen them around. She can get to know them later. For now, there was a raccoon to get rid of. Thankfully, it seemed that neither were hurt but that didn't mean that nothing else would happen. To prevent any possible injuries, Briarrose rushed over in a leap and pinned down the creature under her weight. She pressed down upon it with her paws and looked over at the dual apprentices. "Murkypaw, Firepaw, one of you both finish the raccoon off while I keep it down." ღ

Murkypaw was thankful for Briarrose's intervention, and the apprentice's paw was quick to strike at the creature. It's squeals were enough to hurt her ears, but one last smack was all it took before it seemed too daze to do much more. She watched as its life seemed to ebb away, and hit the earth as it had no more fight in it.

The raccoon has been KO'd!

Looking over to Briarrose and her sister, Murkypaw dipped her head. "Thank you, both of you. Let's try hunting some more, yeah?" She purred.

Firepaw let out a triumphant huff with her head held high. For once, she didn't lose this battle. Though Briarrose had not been there too, both apprentices may have had worse luck in that fight.

"As long as you're alright, Murkypaw. I'll gladly join you!" Firepaw's dark orange ears perked at the russeling sound that she hoped was actual prey.

Crouching in the shriveled leaves and snow while making sure she was down wind, she lept.

Rabbit secured!

Murkypaw gave a nod to her sister, her tail flittering with annoyance that the raccoon had stopped her from catching the squirrel she had found. There was a bit of pride that itched in her paws as she saw Firepaw obtain her catch, but also a bit of jealousy that she hadn't been able to catch one first. No matter, she'd catch something else.

With her nose to the air, she moved carefully away from where the raccoon now was slain. It seemed a lot of squirrels were about, and she followed the trail with excitement. This one looked rather plump, too!

Crouching to the ground as Thistlemask had taught her, she glided forward. It looked as if she'd be able to catch her prey simply by her glare alone as she focused, and with one swift leap...
It was to her delight that she managed to land right on top of it, nipping its neck swiftly to finalize her catch. Holding it in her maw, she quickly returned to her sisters side, excitement twinkling. "Look! I got one too! We should take them back before we find any more raccoons... Briarrose, could we take it back too?"[/color] She asked. Why waste the potential meal?

Murkypaw attempts to catch a squirrel... success!

❖ Briarrose let go of the raccoon as soon as its life had ended. She felt relief flood her as she straightened up. It was over and nobody got hurt. Good. The young warrior dipped her head, acknowledging the thanks she had received. "I will stay with you both for now. I was already hunting before this so I have no qualms about joining in." ღ

❖ She watched the sisters track down their respective prey before she turned to do the same, making sure she never went too far just in case. It took a little bit of scenting and listening but she managed to find a rabbit close by. She dropped down into a crouch and stalked the jumpy creature for a few moments before taking the chance and leaping. ღ

❖ Once the rabbit was firmly caught in her jaws, the tortoiseshell molly walked back over to where the other two were. "Good catches, Firepaw and Murkypaw," she meowed, voice muffled due to the prey she was carrying. The older she-cat placed down her catch and nodded in Murkypaw's direction. "We can. I will carry it." During Leaf-bare, any meal was certainly welcome (if it was safe to eat, of course). The warrior bent down and began to arrange the fallen raccoon onto her back as steadily as she could. "Let us head back then," she said with a small smile before picking her rabbit back up and gesturing for the other two to follow her back to the camp. ღ
