Lichenwing led the patrol deep into ThunderClan territory, humming a quiet tune under his breath. He was in a good mood today - well, he was in a good mood most days - but the sun was shining warmly on his pelt, birds were singing, and the light breeze that blew towards them carried a multitude of prey scents. All in all, it was set to be a good day, and a good hunt, most importantly. ThunderClan was looking fat and healthy... all they needed now was a few litters of kits to fill the empty nursery, and things would be in ship shape...

"I'm headin' off this way," he called to the rest of the patrol, and then loped off towards a patch of tall grasses. It didn't take long for him to spot a fat mouse among the roots. He dropped into a crouch, creeping along, until it was in leaping distance, and then lashing out. He scooped the mouse right into his waiting mouth, where it was swiftly dispatched, and then tucked along those same roots.

Sunfire nodded as Lichenwing headed off, he himself already following a mouse trail. He smiled as the mouse came into view. This would be an easy catch. The tom lowered himself into a crouch, slowly heading towards the mouse. With fluid movements, the tom leapt onto the mouse and killed it swiftly.

Goldenfern was glad of the chance to spend more time with her clanmates. She had been feeling tired of late; she couldn't sleep well at night, and her emotions were so unpredictable. She was sure it was nothing important, but if this continued she would just have to check in with Fawnshine. The golden tabby puffed out her fur as a chilly breeze ruffled her coat. Sunfire and Lichenwing both managed to catch some prey. "Nice catch," She purred, pleased that however miserable she was feeling her brother was at least getting on well.

Goldenfern caught the faint scents of a mouse. Dropping into a crouch, she crept through the undergrowth towards the prey. Suddenly, talons flashed at the edge of her vision, and she ducked just in time to avoid the owl's attack. the fur on her spine rose and she hissed. Mouse dung, her fear scent was everywhere.

Goldenfern launched towards the owl, her claws gripping it's wings and sending it tumbling to the ground.

Acornstem's tail swished back and forth in excitement at the chance to go hunting, eager to spend more time with her Clanmates and get to know them. After all, she still wasn't all that familiar with many, she had a few friends here and there but... Well, she had to do better at getting to know them all! Her eyes were focused on Lichenwing as he was the leader of the patrol, coming to a stop as he did and pointing out the direction he was heading. She nodded as Sunfire also took his own path, same with Goldenfern.

She turned to follow suit, tasting the air as she tried to find a nice spot to go but only got a few steps away before a new scent caught her attention. What... Was that? Her ears twitched, before Goldenfern's hiss caught her ear. She spun, seeing her tackling a large bird that had apparently made an attack at her. She couldn't help but blink a few times, she hadn't even heard i-Oh. Owl, right. She had heard stories about how they could be eerily quiet in their flying - a kithood story to push in the reminder to never sneak out of camp or you could be stolen away without a sound.

Unwilling to leave her Clanmate to deal with it alone, Acornstem spun on her paws and rushed to Goldenfern's aid - raising a paw and striking at what little opening she had with Goldenfern currently barely pinning it to the ground.

Acornstem used Front Paw Strike on the owl, dealing 8 damage and costing 7 stamina.
