Subject: World, Revolving [Sitewide] Tue 15 Nov 2022 - 5:45
Under the racing paws of fearful cats, the jolting earth settled slowly again into stillness. The world itself had shivered and bucked, pulling trees from their deep and sturdy roots, pulling life from some of the forest’s inhabitants. And then, as if it had never happened… everything stopped. Once again, the world was motionless, filled only with heavy silence and the drumbeat of pawsteps approaching Fourtrees. The path to the hollow was familiar to all cats, though it was an odd walk to make under the light of day, and in flight from the ground itself.
But, as cats filled the clearing, distant sounds welled through the quiet wood. Steps that belonged to no cat nor predator wading messily through RiverClan’s ponds and ShadowClan’s marsh; loud, senseless voices echoing against silent trees; though the cats would have to strain to hear them as they dragged across the Thunderpath, the growl of monsters was starting to rise to join the swelling cacophony. Though they had not yet impeded upon the clearing and were leagues away from Fourtrees, the noises were impossible to ignore: already driven from their homes in a flight, and now Twolegs had come.
Perchstar felt as if the entire weight of her Clan were dragging on her shoulders as she finally made her way to Fourtrees. Hopefully, the rest of her Clanmates would have already arrived. She checked the slowly collapsing moss dens again and again to make sure that there were no more cats left in camp, and helped out anyone who needed it. Then, with one final painful look at the quietly disintegrating camp, with its sand turning to quagmire and the last pieces of fresh-kill gently drifting away through the inch of dead water, not knowing when it would be safe to return, she left.
The territory was not as badly impacted as their camp had been. Aside from the occasional fallen tree and the slightly diverted path to the river, it looked the same... except for being eerily still. Perchstar could hardly allow herself to think as she rushed to Fourtrees, hoping against hope that all her Clanmates had made it, though she knew with a sinking feeling that Sprucebark and Hawkshriek somehow leaving in the water hadn't been just her imagination. It would be fine, she tried to convince herself. Fine. Fine. Yet her heartbeat would not slow down, and only continued to quicken.
It only got worse when she heard the sounds of disaster. In the background, muffled voices that were unintelligible. Loud, echoing footsteps that nearly hurt her ears as much as the ground's rumble had. Twigs cracking. Strange scents on the wind. Her pelt prickled in panic. Thankfully the rest of the Clan was ahead of her... but they had to leave. Now. She'd heard too many stories of what the Twolegs had done to RiverClan in moons past. Once again, as futile as ever, she found herself wishing that Ivystar stood in her place to lead their Clan to safety. Instead... it would fall to her. And she would probably fail once more. She was already too afraid to feel any more afraid, so it simply added another layer of exhaustion to the burden that already threatened to force her to the ground. But she didn't have any time to consider the new development. Her worry was too great already.
Finally, she arrived, seeing the clearing full of far more cats than she had expected. There were leaders and cats of many other Clans, as well-- some injured, some panicked, most shell-shocked and wary-eyed. That could be dealt with later. For now, Perchstar only had eyes for her Clan. She strode over to the area of Fourtrees where RiverClan normally gathered, which was where most of her cats seemed to have congregated. A quick scan showed many recognizable faces... but not all of them. Maybe some were just late. Waylaid in the forest, perhaps. She swallowed the bile that threatened to rise in the back of her throat. There was no time for her to panic. She had to lead. "RiverClan, gather here," she called out, managing somehow to keep her voice level. She had to see who was here, and who was gone. Then they could figure things out. "For now, stay in this clearing. Do not leave, no matter what you do. Come let me see you. Is everyone all right?"
Poppyshine moved purely on instinct and adrenaline. She no longer felt the ache in her bones or the fogginess in her head. The shock of the entire situation had given her new strength and life where sickness had weighed her down for the past moon. After much work with Rushinpaw, she had gotten the fallen tree off of Hickorypaw. Even though she was ill, she was the larger cat, and so had Rushingpaw maneuver Hickorypaw onto her back and then with his help, the three of them proceeded to Fourtrees. She prayed that Sandypaw and Dovesight would be able to help the injured Hickorypaw despite not having access to a medicine den. Poppyshine tried not to think too hard about the consequences. They had no time for that.
Fourtrees felt like ages away, but finally, they arrived. Poppyshine met Perchstar’s eyes immediately when her leader called out. Pain was evident in Poppyshine’s gaze, but she looked away before she could see Perchstar’s reaction to their arrival. She found a dry, comfortable patch of grass and carefully knelt to the ground to slide Hickorypaw off of her back. She saw many cats here, but unlike typical gatherings, they were not in any usual place. She couldn’t immediately see Dovesight so she called for her instead: “Dovesight! I need you over here, please!”
Her gaze returned to Hickorypaw and she anxiously licked the top of his head. She knew he must be in such pain, given the mangled appearance of his back legs. Poppyshine hoped he would be alright. She wished there was more she could do to help him. Instead, she looked to her company and meowed, “Rushingpaw, thank you for your help getting us here. Please go ask Perchstar if you can help her with anything. Tell her I will help as soon as Dovesight can look after Hickorypaw.”
She should be helping Perchstar, but she couldn’t bring herself to abandon her son when he was in such a condition right now. When she was certain a medicine cat was looking after him, then she would. But for now…she had to be a mother before a deputy right now.
Poppyshine has arrived at Fourtrees with Hickorypaw and Rushingpaw, and she is calling for Dovesight.
Twistpool
Twistpool was one of the last to arrive thanks to his slow pace, but he looked to be one of the calmest cats there. He glanced at the cats from other clans and was glad that at least RiverClan was not the only one that had freaked out like this. He still didn’t understand why everyone had lost it so badly, but perhaps he had more fortitude as an old man than any of these warriors had nowadays. It sounded right in his head.
He scowled when Perchstar called out to RiverClan and his tail flicked irritably. He found a soft patch of moss and laid down to finally give his old bones a rest.
Twistpool is sitting quietly off to the side.
Iceheart
Iceheart arrived at Fourtrees and she felt like her legs were going to give way. Forestbreeze was much larger than her, and it was difficult to help keep him upright during the entire trek from ShadowClan. She finally allowed them to sit together at the edge of the clearing so they could finally rest. She set down Amberkit and Cicadakit as well, pressing them against her belly and licking them to make sure they were dry and warm after the rising pools in ShadowClan.
“Forest, keep an eye out for Marshmallow,” Iceheart instructed him between licks. ”I’m sure she’ll want her kits close with her when they’ve all arrived.” For now, she’d keep them warm and safe.
It looked like other clans were affected by whatever had happened too. RiverClan looked particularly shaken up, and still more cats were trailing in. The sound of the monsters and twolegs had worried Iceheart on the way to Fourtrees. The twolegs could not have been responsible for shaking earth or rising water, but whatever they were doing in the forest now could not have been good. She silently prayed to StarClan that they would not find the crowd of cats at Fourtrees. If she knew anything about the twolegs, it was that they took great interest in large groups of cats.
Iceheart is sitting with Forestbreeze and keeping Amberkit and Cicadakit warm until Marshmallow arrives.
The ground had stopped rumbling, but Shrikestar's heart was still pounding as he led his clan towards Fourtrees. It was bad enough that there was a giant crack in the earth on their territory, but twolegs had invaded right afterwards. Had they been the cause of the ground shaking? It was possible: they were sure loud, as monsters roared in his ears. At least there was Fourtrees, which remained as safe in the daytime as it did beneath the full moon. The difference of being beneath the sun, however, was a strange one. He wondered what StarClan thought of this, watching them from above. Was the truce even still relevant when it wasn't beneath the full moon? He hoped it would be.
It wasn't only WindClan, though. The other clans began to swarm in, crowding the gathering space and making an uncomfortable feeling run through Shrikestar's fur. Seeing all those cats there confirmed his worst fears. This didn't just involve WindClan: it extended throughout the entirety of the territories. Would every clan end up showing up, and what damage had been wrought on their territory? Would it even be pertinent to tell? As much as he didn't want to show weakness, the fact that they were there already spoke to something being wrong for all clans.
"Stay with your own clan," he instructed his clanmates, wanting to make sure that they were all together. It would be easier to tell if any of them were missing. "I must confer with the other leaders. Smallbean, Coyotegrin, please make sure everyone is here, and let me know who is missing. We will have to send a search party for them in that case." With that, he made his way through the crowd, moving towards the Great Rock. He was looking for the other leaders, Nightstar first and foremost.

Exhaustion dragged at Stormdance's paws, making each step cost far more energy than it should've. But still, he kept moving, as fast as he could manage, refusing to look back despite the temptation to. He had stayed in the camp as long as he could afford, helping Perchstar with evacuations and assisting any that he could. His legs were shaking. He still felt all that panic and fear under a muffled blanket, making his head spin. He feels as though he's underwater. His ear twitched at the sound beyond fourtrees, the shouting and the crashing, and a new wave of fear bubbled up inside him only to be tamped down. He could only keep moving.
All Stormdance wanted was to collapse. He took in the sight of his clanmates that had gathered, and he could barely even feel relief at seeing all of them. His chest only tightened at the sight of his clanmates displaced from their home, bedraggled, injured and downtrodden. Though the earth beneath his paws had stopped moving, Stormdance still felt as though the world itself was collapsing, a feeling that left him shuddering. Stormdance did not sit down. Instead he rocked on his paws, scanning the crowd of Riverclan cats.
He searched for something to do, to keep his paws occupied and his mind focused so he would not once again descend into panic. He searched for his loved ones, for Brookstone and Rowanpaw. He saw Poppyshine, but didn't approach, heart skipping a beat at the sight of Hickorypaw so grievously injured. He hadn't been able to find Hickorypaw in camp. He supposed this explained why, though it made him ache. Dovesight and Sandypaw could do more than he could, and he would only get in the way in the state that he's in.
At the sound of Perchstar's voice, Stormdance turned tired eyes onto her. He could not find the answer to her question, or even muster any words at all. He gave her a small nod, but that was all he could do before returning to scanning the crowd, shuddering in shaky breaths. It had been a while since he had felt this scattered and distant from his body. Attacks like this were common when he was a kit and apprentice, but he refused to let it hit him in full right now. He couldn't fall apart. He had to keep it together. He repeated that mantra in his head over and over, as if that would be enough to keep him calm.
Stormdance is completely calm he promises, and is looking out for Brookstone and Rowanpaw and to see if he can help anywhere. OOC: I will post with Honey and Rain later on! <3
As she traveled to Fourtrees, leaning a little on Lighttail, Snowpaw froze up repeatedly as reality would fall away.
The scent of her best friend Deerpaw filled her nostrils. The image of the other apprentice leaping to catch an adder flashed across her mind, followed by the feeling of the snake’s skull under her own paws. The chill of snow crept through her pelt as her mind took her back to leafbare. She saw Deerpaw’s smile one last time, then the memory ended and she was back in the messed-up marsh, headed for Fourtrees.
Then the smells of a million cats swept over her. She wasn’t actually at Fourtrees yet, it was just another warped flashback. She saw hundreds of pelts, turning her vision into a living, breathing, moving mass of cats. A few familiar faces appeared. Frostgaze. Webshadow. Shymoon. A few voices began to bubble up in her mind and the sight of the deputies sitting together flashed before her. Then it was all gone again.
Another memory came, this one softer. A feeling of warmth and love, and the sight of Murkystar suckling two new kits. Oddly enough, though, they didn’t really look like any of the unfamiliar cats who claimed to be Murkystar’s children.
Lighttail walked in a mist. Numb. Feeling nothing. She paused whenever her mother seized up and kept walking when she loosened. Finally at Fourtrees, the silver she-cat collapsed. Her job was done now. She sat down alone and stared off into space.
Blazefang whirled into Fourtrees in a panic. Where was Dayquill? Was ThunderClan here? Was he safe? Shrikestar ordered the clan to stay together, so Blazefang kept to herself and her clan, but her gaze frantically scanned Fourtrees for the tom. She loved him. She’d never really known what it was she felt for him, but she knew now. She was a cat in love, and the only thing in the world that mattered was her beloved being all right.

Dovesight made her way into fourtrees beside Brookstone, the two of them carrying Harebounce on their backs. The other Clans seemed to have arrived, too, or at least WindClan and ShadowClan.
She found a spot to lay Harebounce down, flicking her tail at Grebedance. "You think you can look after her? I don't think she's injured, but I don't want her to be left alone. I need to check up on the others."
Just as she had said that, she heard a voice call her name. Hickorypaw laid splayed on the ground, and Dovesight rushed over. "It's going to be okay, Hickorypaw, alright? I just need you to try to relax for me. Think you can do that?"
Lifting her head, she called out. "Brookstone! I need to see the herbs you managed to get! Sandypaw, I need you, too!"
Dovesight has told Grebedance to stay with Harebounce, and has called for Brookstone and Sandypaw to help with Hickorypaw
Roseburn made her way into fourtrees, a bit disheveled after her failed search for Batpaw. She could only pray that the apprentice had made it to fourtrees, but they were not in camp. She had been the last one to leave the camp.
...So why was she one of the first ones to fourtrees? She spotted Iceheart, and quickly rushed over, fear prickling her pelt. "Where are the others? Are they alright? Where is Nightstar and Leopardsun and Echomist?"
Roseburn is questioning Iceheart on where the rest of the Clan is

Redpaw
Redpaw moved into the clearing, probably one of the few that were taking in all of this with a cold fascination rather than panic. His moment of terror had already passed... now he was keen to observe everyone else. The waves of scent hit his nose, all different cats and different clans. It seemed they had a similar experience to what Shadowclan had. The scent of fear in the air made him strangely giddy, and he couldn't help but grin and let out a chuckle every now and then. Fearful cats amused him.
The sounds of twolegs in the distance caught his ears as well, and again without a fear reaction, Redpaw's ears swiveled toward the voices. "My, my what a spectacle this is turning out to be." He said with a laugh. He sat between two large roots and cheerfully watched the commotion. This was far more interesting than he had anticipated it to be... and he couldn't wait to see what would happen next.
Darkspirit
The duo-toned cat with mismatched gold and blue eyes entered the clearing looking about three times as big as he normally was. His fur stood on end and he looked around, desperately trying to keep his clan together. It was all a confusing mess though... hopefully the leaders could give everyone some form of direction. A red-furred apprentice... of Shadowclan it smelled like... was laughing. At first Darkspirit might have dismissed it as nervous laughter... but there was no fear scent coming from the red tom.
Darkspirit's eyes narrowed, but he never looked too directly at the apprentice. He knew one thing: He didn't like that tom... and he would be watching him for now.
The long trek through Shadowclan's muck and debris had left Harechaser's bright patchwork pelt messy and soaked, ginger and black fur stained and plastered to her skin. They'd made it through, however, and now that the adrenaline from the mad scramble out of camp had subsided, she was tired and shaky, though she forced her paws to remain still as she kept close to her clanmates. Seeing the other clans had been a surprise, but with the way the earth had rumbled and rolled, it was less of a surprise than it could've been. All around here there were shivering cats, and they all looked just as distressed as she felt.
She looked around her clanmates for Nightstar, but before finding her brother, her ears picked up on the words of one of Shadowclan's newer apprentices. "A spectacle." Harechaser repeated, shock flickering across her expression as she stared at Redpaw with mismatched eyes. He wasn't... He was laughing. He couldn't be serious. "Cats are hurt, our territory and camp are flooding again. It looks like we aren't the only ones who have met with misfortune. It's certainly a spectacle." She bit out sharply. She might have simply ducked her head and avoided him, but stress and nerves and fear had made her tongue sharp.
When Birdchaser had left camp, her heart was pounding so hard she thought she might have been sick. The largest group of her Clanmates had already disappeared from her view by the time she'd gotten the heart to actually abandon their home, rather than lingering and desperately checking dens to make sure no one had been left behind, or the cats helping Briarstar didn't need an extra set of paws. She still wasn't sure if her leg had been broken or only badly wounded. She was aware of the way her body jerked as she walked, limping numbly through their ruined territory. Fallen trees and debris lay strewn across her pass, marked with the clawmarks of her other passing Clanmates. The leg worked, and that was enough. Desperation urged her body forward, numbing her to any pain that should have been present there.
She was... terrified. Too afraid to think of anything else. In one moment, the world had gone entirely to ruin. At some point in her walk, the ground had stopped shaking, but the world didn't stop spinning. Her head world and everything was blurry. Terror gripped her chest, its grip icy and unforgiving. Were there any Clanmates she had not yet accounted for? Had they all made it to Fourtrees? Had any been lost to the initial tremors, on the journey? Were there any she had missed in her frenzied searching through camp?
Birdchaser shook her head. She had seen all of her siblings-- even Trufflesnap and Fogfeather, who she was reluctantly blessed to say were still alive --and had seen Rainpaw and Crookedpaw, all the cats she cared about most in tact. They would still be alive and well when she saw them next. She couldn't waste her energy worrying about things that had yet to happen.
At some point, the ground had softened, rocks giving way to churned grass, and when the deputy blinked again, she was standing above the rise to Fourtrees. Her breath caught in her throat, and before she could descend into the hollow, Birdchaser found herself just sinking exhaustedly onto her haunches, wincing when her leg bent. The sun was still shining, the sky clear. It had only been what, an hour, maybe two? and the world had been changed irreparably. A frighteningly loud edge of her mind pleaded just to sink against the earth, lapse into sleep and remain there until things magically righted themself.
But she couldn't do that. Despite the deep exhaustion tugging at her limbs, the anxiety that burned through her chest and through her heart, Birdchaser couldn't just abandon SkyClan. Until those that had remained by Briarstar's side arrived with the tabby in tow, she would need to give them some presence of leadership. Struggling back to her paws, Birdchaser slowly descended the slope into the hollow, grumbling and hissing as she went. Her eyes found her Clanmates first, then drifted to see RiverClan, ShadowClan and WindClan had made an appearance here, as well. So they weren't the first, or the only Clan to consider this safe haven. At least the clearing seemed to have taken minimal damage, and the Clans that had arrived had already secluded themselves to their own corners. Limping to an unoccupied edge of the clearing, the deputy swept her gaze over the scattered cats of SkyClan and let out a soft sigh.
Once she gathered her breath, Birdchaser lifted her hoarse voice. "SkyClan, gather around me, please." She'd hoped it'd come out with the smoothness of the other leader's distant mews, but it came out low and shaky, her shock at the situation evident. Everything about this felt wrong. "Briarstar and some others are still in camp. Hopefully, they should be joining us soon. For now, though, I am here for you all." Her shoulders sagged, and Birdchaser found herself again dropping into a splayed sit. She hoped her Clanmates would not think less of her for being unable to hold herself upright too long at the moment. "Stay in this clearing, and stay with your Clanmates. Go nowhere until we know more about what's happened, and what's safe. If you were hurt, look for Plumleaf." Her gaze flicked over the crowd, scanning for her sister's face. "That's all, for now. Take a moment to breathe, SkyClan." With that, she let out a heavy breath she hadn't been aware she was holding, drooping forward.
In the distance, heavy voices echoed against the standing trees, pawsteps too heavy to belong to any predator she'd met matching them. Her ears pinned. That sound... she shook herself out. She was hearing things, that had to be it. SkyClan would be safe in Fourtrees.
The walk from the flooded, murky waters of ShadowClan and the wreckage caused Duskflight's fur to be drenched and cold — an uncomfortable sensation in comparison to how thick his fur was. Though fortunately, a part of him still was dry, and he managed to keep Applekit relatively the same. It wasn't as horrid as last time, thank the stars, but that didn't mean it hadn't alarmed him how his guess was correct. The Five Clans were gathered here, each in trouble of their own. And judging by chatters and whispers of panic, something had struck the forest once more.
His ears caught the laughter of one of the newer apprentices of ShadowClan and raised a brow in concern. Should someone really be laughing in a situation like this? Turning towards the kit he held by the scruff, he spoke softly to him. "We'll find your mother. You'll be alright."
Duskflight is keeping Applekit safe while looking for Marshmallow!
Crowspirit
Crowspirit tried her best to keep her spirits and others' lifted as they trekked to Fourtrees, paws stained with mud and fur drenched with dirtied water. Her fur felt uncomfortable with the debris sticking so close to her fur, but upon observing others, she knew she was one of the luckier ones. The cats with long, fluffy pelts seemed to struggle a lot more than she did, and she was glad to be having a pelt in situations like this.
She stayed close to her mother, helping her carry Harrierpaw as best as she could. It was harder to walk, but she felt better helping than to do nothing at all. "Everyone's all here. It seems like it's not just us, then." Her eyes scanned for the sight of Harechaser, and it brought her relief that she was alright. "Aunt Harechaser!" She called, but her voice seemed to blend in with the crowd. Hopefully, Harechaser could hear her voice over the meows.
Crowspirit is with Swiftspirit and is trying to call to Harechaser!
Fawnshine
Fawnshine walked with a doubtful attitude, but she was determined to conceal it. ThunderClan didn't need more panic than they already have with the earthquake. Trailing from their territory to Fourtrees, she tried her best to look for her sister — but with the mixed scents of fear and confusion, she could hardly figure out which one was her Comfreyheart's. As she scanned for a familiar pelt, she spotted some of her siblings — and was glad to see they were fine. Still, she tried her best to find her sister, a mouthful of herbs carried from the quick dash out of the medicine cat den.
"Is everyone alright? Any cat injured?" She mewed, turning over to the nearest clanmate she could find.
Fawnshine is trying to find Comfreyheart & checking if any cats are injured!
"Sprucebark... We've finally made it!" Hawkshriek exhaled. For a moment, he had nearly allowed himself to collapse down — the distance they'd traveled had been more exaggerated than they actually have traveled, though still, it felt as if his paws had experienced the longest trek he'd ever gone on. And perhaps, that was true, for a cat that had never been washed out so far before. He had to ask Dovesight for some paw-soothing herbs later on.
"Ma? Perchstar? Hickorypaw? Sootspirit? Dovesight?" He called out, hoping his voice could travel the distances across. He squished and tried to find his way separate from the crowd, whiskers twitching and eyes sharp for the sight of his family.
Hawkshriek has come to Fourtrees with Sprucebark and is looking for his family & Dovesight!
Woolywing walked shakily, as if the earthquake were still rocking him to and fro in an effort to knock him off his paws. He was sandwiched between two cats- he couldn't tell who. Everyone smelled like mud, and they had left camp in such a hurry that there was no time to ask for the names of the cats around him. It was far from a priority, anyway- though some part of him ached with guilt that these cats had helped him and he didn't even know who they were. RiverClan filed into the clearing. The cats parted from Woolywing's sides, leaving him to stand rooted to the spot as he gained his bearings. He wasn't quite sure what he was feeling in that moment. Terrified, yes. But he'd felt terror before, and it was never quite this bad. Not with the fox, not with the snake, not even with the eagle. There was something gnawing away at him, and he couldn't for the life of him figure out what. Guilt? Maybe. He certainly hadn't been of any help to the Clan. The senses he'd honed so well with Stormdance had been entirely useless. What would have happened if nobody was there to help him? Would he have died? He assured himself that no, he was an adult and a trained warrior. The fact that he hadn't been made an elder yet spoke to that fact. Yet he couldn't rid himself of the terrible gnawing feeling. He stood stock still for a second more before Perchstar's voice rang out, addressing the clan with an honestly impressive calmness and forcing Woolywing to drag himself out of his own head. He slowly walked over to where Perchstar's voice rung out from, sitting within earshot. He couldn't identify who was here and who was not, but he could at least help by making himself visible. He shifted his shoulders, uncomfortable at the feeling of cold air on his scars. His poor pelt was probably gone forever.

Kitespring had followed Perchstar to Fourtrees, wondering about herself the entire time. Poppyshine and Dovesight were too tired or busy to talk with, and the russet she-cat didn't feel like talking to other members of her clan, so she spent the time walking to Fourtrees introspecting.
At times, she felt the bravery to tell Poppyshine about her crush, but she knew that the RiverClan deputy wasn't in the right situation for it. So she stayed away, like a mouse-brain. She couldn't bring herself to talk with other cats, besides maybe Dovesight occasionally. And Dovesight was also stressing herself out trying to hold things together as RiverClan's medicine cat.
Let's think of a hypothetical. If Poppyshine and Dovesight were long gone, and Kitespring was still here, what did she have to live for? It seemed like a hard question at first, but the russet she-cat thought she could answer it. Well, it's frustrating, but I know I would still have...
She couldn't think of anything.
I'd have...
But nothing came to mind.
Worrying and panicking, the young she-cat started anxiously hastening her pace. Stars, did she not have anything she could live fo-
"Stories!"
Realizing that she had blurted the word out loud, Kitespring nervously chuckled and slunk back into the crowd. By the time they had gotten to Fourtrees, Kitespring could think of many things, the simple things in life that made her happy besides the cats she loved. Stories, flower collages, enjoying the beauty of nature...
And it made her feel more whole than she had in a long time.
Kitespring is at Fourtrees. Rookfire and Poppykit have not arrived yet.

Russetpaw bolted into Fourtrees with her fur standing on end. She’d been right behind Silverwing on the way here, she could’ve sworn- but now she’d lost her mentor in her scramble to escape, and was alone, in a whirlwind of new sights and smells- she’d never been to a Gathering before, and the new scents that swamped her nose all at once were overwhelmingly, well, new. The ginger tabby stayed right in the middle of her Clan, ears pinned, looking around for Silverwing, or Sleepypaw, or her mother, or anyone, really.
She waved her tail at Smallbean and Coyotegrin, making sure they knew she was here- wait, Coyotegrin? Maybe she’d know where Sleepy was? But Russetpaw was too nervous to budge from her spot right in the center of the WindClanners. Anxiously she looked over at the other gathering cats, hoping her curiosity could soothe the anxiety that gnawed at her gut. Here she was, a new apprentice, far away from camp with trembling whiskers. This- this wasn’t how she wanted her first time at Fourtrees to go!
Seeing the panicked apprentice, Blazefang flicked her tail. “Over here, Russetpaw!” she called. “You can sit with me until we find Silverwing. I know if she doesn’t see you she’ll probably come to me anyway.”
