Rowanpaw only moved closer to Poppyshine, and Dovesight's tail lashed. "I said get back! Do you want to make her worse?!" She bared her teeth in frustration, until Perchstar came over, and finally, finally the stubborn tom moved.
At Perchstar's question, Dovesight looked up, frustration evident in her gaze. "Yes, please. These cats listen to you, because clearly my word doesn't matter even though I am the foxing medicine cat."
Sandypaw had finally brought the herbs, and Dovesight laid them down for Poppyshine. She pointedly ignored everything else going on, speaking only to Poppyshine. "You're going to be okay, alright? You've passed out, but you're okay now. Eat these herbs. They'll help you a bit, and Stormdance and I will take you to my den, alright?" She rested her nose on Poppyshine's head, Hoping the deputy couldn't feel how she was shaking. It felt like it was all just too much. Her head was pounding, and she just felt so frustrated. Turning to Stormdance, she gave the tom a nod of approval for him to come help. The sooner they got Poppyshine into the safety of her den, the better.
Poppyshine was vaguely aware of loud voices and a few words being directed towards her, but it was hard to pinpoint. The pressure on her side was gone and she felt a couple other cats shuffling near her. She squeezed her eyes shut for a moment and opened them again. Colors and shapes were starting to materialize along with the hazy lines. It took a lot of focus, but she was pretty sure that Dovesight was speaking to her.
The smell of the herbs hit her nose and she registered that Dovesight wanted her to eat. She had no appetite, but she knew that their medicine cat knew best. Poppyshine shifted, lifting her head a bit so she could eat easier. Chewing the herbs was a chore, but the taste gave her something to ground herself with. The more she came to, the worse her heart felt. The emotions that had been numbed by her collapse were creeping back, along with more of a presence of mind. Poppyshine closed her eyes tight again, wishing for the feelings to dissipate into the air, but they only hooked tighter onto her.
