With You [Open]

Stormbringer lapped at her fur on her chest trying to smooth out the tangles she had gotten in her short fur from the many times she had been in and out of the water today. The sun was rather hot today so she thanked the stars for the fact that there were many water sources around to cool off in as she arranged patrols for her clan. She hunted once earlier today and she planned to return later in the evening once the fish returned closer to the surface.

She paused in her cleaning tongue partially sticking out of her mouth as her mind wondered to her mates, her family. How were they all dealing with this heat? Were they staying cool? Did Spiderquil like this weather considering his fur? She straightened up, pulling her tongue back into her mouth. Amber eyes scanning the camp for any sign of her family or clanmates that she could check up on.

Streamtail was thirsty. She had already went for a swim to cool off, went to drink water, but she was still...so...thirsty... She groaned as the sunlight hit her pelt, making it blaze in heat. Her naturally glossier fur normally would have been good during swimming but today she wanted the water to stay...instead, it slipped off like nothing. Almost screaming in frustration and uncomfortableness, she flicked her long tail in irritation, before finding shade beneath the warrior’s den. Already deciding to take another dip into the river, she walked straight into the deputy, Stormbringer. She looked like she had just came from the river. Dipping her head in apology, Streamtail said, “Oh! Sorry about that! I didn’t see you there!”

Honeytongue, for one, didn't like the weather in the slightest. She didn't have the longest fur or anything but....It made cuddling almost unbearable during the day and that was a crime upon itself. She wanted to spend whatever time she could just draped over Ivystar and Stormbringer, making sure they were taking care of themselves and they were doing alright but the heat just made it...Uncomfortable. She sighed as she pushed herself from the warrior's den, taking a moment to stretch out before a collision of movement caught her eye. She glanced over just in time to see Streamtail stumbling away from Stormbringer, having ran straight into the deputy. A small giggle escaped the warrior as she bounded over to the pair. "Stormbringer, Streamtail!" she chirped a greeting to both of the she-cats, taking a spot at her mate's side. "I hope you are both staying as cool as you can with this terrible heat."

As soon as Streamtail collided with the deputy, Stormbringer took a step back. Amber eyes looking at the younger warrior. The deputy shook her head and then spoke. "No you are fine Streamtail." Everyone was of course struggling in this heat but she wasn't going to let it irritate her. The deputy opened her mouth to speak up again but movement caught her eye. As soon as she saw her mate, her mood lifted a little. "I'm doing my best to stay cool, but even with my short fur its hard. It is rather warm today." The deputy said to Honeytongue.

A dark pelted apprentice slipped from the shade and sulked over to where he glimpsed Streamtail with Stormbringer and another cat he couldn't quite recognize... He shook his head as fuzzy gray splotches edged his vision. His first Greenleaf, and he was really hot. Were all Greenleafs this warm...? With his long, thick fur- especially it being black, the color that absorbs the most sun- made him feel dizzy as he got hotter. Stumbling closer, he sat by his mentor and licked a paw, running it over his scolding ear-tips. His shoulders sagged a bit.

Bereft of any cool opportunity to keep herself cool Thornkit was quick to follow after her mother in search of water. Being in the nursery was nice and all but it was starting to get cramped with all the kits there. She kept herself out of the path of the bigger cats despite the chances of getting stepped on. The tabby made sure to keep her eyes up no matter how the cats lounging around made her fur tingle. Being around so many cats was draining oddly enough to the young she-cat. "Why is it so hot?" The kit whined, her paws warm to the touch. It didn't help she had fairly dark fur soaking in the warmth from the sun.
