briarkit's apprentice ceremony

It was the time for the second of her kits to be apprenticed. Sweet little Briarkit, the one who seemed to have taken the most after Mottlerose herself. Having spent all the time she could grooming the young she-kit to beauty, with a gentle touch to her nose did the mother then make her way to Highrock, already having her daughter follow. After all, why wait for her summon? She didn't hold it a secret to her kits when their ceremonies would be, especially given she was the one conducting them.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting!

It was impossible to keep the warm smile on her face as she looked down at her daughter. Mottlerose saw just how similar she was to herself every single passing day, how that curiosity was growing more and more. Still, she didn't delay too much longer. "Briarkit, please step forward. You have reached the age of six moons old, and like your siblings, it is time you become apprenticed. From now until you become a warrior, you shall be known as Briarpaw, and Minnowstar will be your mentor." She wouldn't have originally thought about giving one of their kits to their father to train, but seeing just how much fun that he had with them, it only made sense. Part of it was a slight bit of a joke from Mottlerose herself, now meaning that he had to take care of one of them as a full-time job as she did from the nursery. ... Most of it was just the fact that she wanted the best for her children.

Leaping down from the highrock, the molly nuzzled her daughter. Normally, she'd leave her to find her mentor, but at any moment she was sure he would appear by their sides. "Welcome to being an apprentice, Briarpaw."

"Hello you two, I can't seem to find my new apprentice anywhere... have you seen her around? She's about this height, and she's got the most beautiful green eyes!" Sticking his head in between the pair of mollies, the father chimed, a silly grin on his maw. Circling around so that he could properly face his daughter, he lowered his nose to touch her own and met her gaze with beaming pride. "We'll begin training tomorrow. For now, you'd best claim a spot in the apprentices den before others take up the coziest ones- " he mewed, before turning to nuzzle his mate in affection.
