Hawkkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Poppyshine

The Maplespring kits were growing quickly. Nearly all of them were apprenticed at this point and Poppyshine was struggling to keep up. She had never done this many ceremonies, let alone so quickly! But Hawkkit was ready for apprenticeship, and so Poppyshine once again took her place on the willow branch. “Let all cats old enough to catch their own fish gather for a Clan meeting.”

His siblings begin to have all gotten their ceremonies, and so will his. Flicking his tail, Hawkkit suddenly perked at the mention of a Clan meeting. This had to be it. With a purr, the tom walked to a spot slightly above the crowd, smiling. Soon, his new name would be one of an apprentice, no longer a kit!

Poppyshine

The excited little expression on Hawkkit’s face warmed Poppyshine’s heart. She felt just as excited as he did to earn the title of apprentice. Calling loudly, she mewed, “Hawkkit, you have reached your age of six moons and are ready to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Hawkpaw. Your mentor shall be Scarletriver.” Poppyshine looked to the cat in question. She had not had much interaction with the warrior in question, but she knew that Scarletriver had a lot of experience and could teach much. “I trust that she will pass her knowledge onto you.” She stepped down from the branch to join in the joyful cheers for Hawkpaw.

Hawkpaw

Hawkpaw gave himself a warm, proud trill as his new name was granted to him. Now he could finally be out of camp! Now he could actually start living up to his name, of a predator bird! He nodded quietly to Poppyshine, before heading to his mentor, and touching noses with her. "I'll pass through apprenticeship as easily as swallowing a minnow! And before you know it, I'll be a warrior," He grinned.
