Aether was getting annoyed now. Really annoyed. He turned to the dark forest cats, teeth bared. Because of course they wouldn't do anything to him, he was Morningstar's son.

"Can you let us hunt in peace?! You don't even eat, why does this matter to you?!"

And then he stalked off, pelt bristling still with irritation. Maybe at least the stupid things would let him catch his own prey, even better if they let the Clan cats hunt too. He could hear a tiny squeak under a pile of leaves, and immediately started to stalk towards the sound. For once, the dark forest cats backed off, at least willing to not help him, and when Aether came back up with a mouse in his jaws, he could proudly say it was all his own.

She could sense Slightfrost was somewhat embarrassed, but made no comment on it. It had been a gesture of... kindness, she supposed, and she didn't think he'd meant any harm by it like some might have. Beechfang frowned as the dark forest cat prevented Slightfrost from catching another bird, and with a sigh turned in search of another piece of prey once more. She eventually spotted a quail, and a pang of sadness made her ears flatten for a moment as she gazed at it. She'd never bring one to the elder's den for Smokefeather again.

Giving her head a shake, Beechfang forced herself to focus on the task at paw. When she leapt, her claws hooked into the quail's wings with ease, her fangs quickly finding the bird's throat. The victory was a small one, but her had glancing towards the dark forest cats in smug triumph. They hadn't interfered that time, and with the rogue having caught something else, Beechfang could almost believe their luck might improve.

It seems that after the rouge's outburst, the Dark Forest cats had calmed down. after two successful catches, Slightfrost had hopes for his own catch. watching a pigeon flutter about on a low branch, he wriggled his haunches. suddenly, another scent drifted to him. his neck fur began to bristle as he whipped around to face a pair of yellow eyes. with a screech, Slightfrost launched himself at the hawk, sending it tumbling down to the ground.
