Turns out, for all the effort that had gone into his show, it didn't even work out as planned. His claws only caught Muddyleap's fur, and Newtpaw nearly hit the ground again trying to regain his balance. This cat was... stars, he was unstoppable! Slowly turning back to him, Newtpaw just stared, eyes wide and mouth agape.

"Why're ya so calm?" He huffed. He really was dizzy now, especially after moving so fast, and his slight staggering was genuine. "And– and nice?" The heat slowly left his mew, giving way for pure confusion. He hadn't come to war to make friends, but... this cat was funny, and he was a fun fight. Maybe if they had been Clanmates, Newtpaw could have really liked him.

Shaking himself ought to clear the thoughts of being friends, he fixed a hard stare on Muddyleap and sauntered forward– slowly, but surely. "You're– I mean, what're ya doin'? We're fightin', not sparrin'." Muddyleap want wasn't acting like his life was on the line at all. Newtpaw understood seeing things as a game, but either of them could die. Once he was barely a whisker away, he looked the WindClanner up and down, pausing for a moment before giving his face a pointed slash.

Newtpaw used Front Paw Strike on Muddyleap, dealing 6 damage and costing 6 SP.

Amberfluff got close enough to see. Lilacstar lay on the ground, and she...

Oh, by StarClan.

Lilacstar was just full-on dead.

Last time, she hadn't taken long to heal, but it had been just an illness. This time, it wasn't hard to see she was grievously injured.

Despite knowing that, Amberfluff's heart pounded harder and harder for every moment that Lilacstar laid still. No, she had to get up! This is just her second life lost, she will be fine!

Unfortunately, emotions listen to no logic, and love and anger were two of the most prominent logic-defying emotions.

Hissing, Amberfluff turned to Beechface and sprung. In that moment, all she saw was the red blood pooling around Lilacstar. She crashed downwards on top of Beechface, slashing with her claws.

Amberfluff used Jumping Strike, doing 7+3 HP of damage and using 7 SP! Extra damage due to Beechface not focusing on Amberfluff!

Willowdance thought about what the other cat said. That wasn't too bad of an idea, actually. "I would if I could!" She exclaimed. As if she would be here if her kits weren't! Quickly, she attempted to dodge the snap and get free from the fight. Unfortunately, the wall of cats stopped her from getting free easily.

Muddyleap titled his head at the tom's confusion, before he simply gave a large smile. "Cause my momma taught me to always treat other cats nicely!" He didn't move as Newtpaw approached, keeping the same calm, happy smile. "I mean, I'm not suppose to fight cats who don't want to fight and you clearly don't have you heart in it," he meowed, right before Newtpaw whacked him against the head. He simply blinked at the action, something clicking in his head. "...Oh, I also can't feel pain apparently. So, y'know," he meowed with a shrug of his shoulders. He paused before he grinned wildly, jumping to his paws with a lash of his tail. "I like you!" he purred as he raised a paw to cuff Newtpaw on the head - only perhaps it was a little harder than he meant to do. "What's your name? I'm Muddyleap!"

Ashfall felt bad for this cat, she truly did. She had a family, loved ones to return to. If the Skyclanner could escape and run, that was her own business. Ashfall wouldn't stop her, but actively stopping the fight would admit defeat on her side, and she was unwilling to show Windclan that she was a coward like her father. Her claws slashed at her opponent, trying to scrape them down her pelt. As she stepped back, she was able to use her momentum to slash once more before falling back into a defensive position.

Ashfall used Front Paw Strike and Swift Strike, dealing 8 + 4 (12) damage, and using 7 + 10 (17) stamina!

Newtpaw blinked quickly, mouth moving to try and form words though no sound came out. He... couldn't feel pain? That explained everything. Shaking his head, he tried again to speak, but again he was at a loss. Then the cat was saying he liked him, and then he was smashing a paw against his head.

Reeling, Newtpaw shrank down, vision getting spotty. Stars, that cat hit hard. Still shaking, he managed to force out, "I– me– Newt...?" before the throbbing in his head got to be too much and the dark spots in his eyes got to be overwhelming. With one last pained, horribly confused look, he slumped over onto his side for the second time, and his eyes fluttered closed, though he showed no signs of throwing himself at his new "friend."

Newtpaw is KO'ed.

"Well you did accept him even after he probably revealed himself to you all! A WindClanner said so themselves at the Gathering to one of our warriors. They said that Dawnhawk was being kept in your clan. So it means that you all were made aware at some point that he was Dawnhawk so don't play stupid with me. If that clanmate of yours hadn't snitched on your clan harboring that murderer, we would've been left in the dark for who knows how much longer. We would've never gotten justice for our fallen, the one's taken from us by that wretched Dawnhawk. You all are too foolishly trusting. Cats like that will never learn their lessons or change. Putting faith in someone like Dawnhawk even after you all were made aware of who he was was the worst idea you could've had." she snapped with a cutting gaze, her tail lashing from side to side in frustration and worry. She knew she wasn't going to win but she didn't care about that. She was worried about her siblings and how they must be fairing. She couldn't see them from where she was and that...scared her.

She didn't even flinch when a fresh set of claw marks was bestowed upon her shoulder. She glared at the other she-cat. "I had no choice. I would rather die than abandon my brothers. I had to come. To try and be there for them. You wouldn't understand. I'd assume that you know not of the concept of family with the words that you speak. You talk about morals but your clan truly lacks them. The only cowards I see are you WindClanners. If you would've just given him up after he was revealed to be a murderous ex-Skyclanner, we wouldn't have shed so much innocent blood. So much carnage over a lowlife scum. All of this shows that we have all rejected StarClan, turned our backs to them. We're all pathetic...every single one of us..." she growled, voice straining in an attempt to keep upright and awake. She could feel her energy draining fast. She had to do something. A last ditch effort to dish out some sort of injury to the other apprentice before she was beat.

Suddenly, an idea came to fruition when she spotted Newtpaw's fight from her peripheral vision. It was a crazy idea but it had worked for him. The lithe she-cat swayed and swayed, eyes solely trained on the other as to distract her from her plan. Suddenly, she went down in a heap, eyes closed and breathing as slowed as she could make it. She waited and waited for the right opportunity, the very moment she could unleash her 'surprise'.

After a few more moments of her stillness and silence, Rainypaw sprang up in a flurry, claws slashing wildly at the other apprentice. That was it. She had done something at least but it was over for her. She knew she was beat. The she-cat was now sitting hunched, breath coming out in pants. She felt...peace. "Well WindClanner, I hope you don't think of me as an enemy after this. I surely won't remember you that way. Let us not bare ill will against one another outside of this battle. You...You were a worthy adversary and I have a lot to learn regarding battles it seems. My name is Rainypaw, by the way. May I have yours before you...well...finish me off I guess?" she meowed with a light tone in her voice, animosity gone from her eyes. She meant what she said. She wasn't angry with the apprentice anymore. SkyClan at this moment was in the wrong but WindClan had done it's own misdeeds. They were both at fault.

Claws flashed towards her belly, and Swiftspirit attempted to sidestep. It was something she could avoid easily enough, and would have... But for the fact that the pointed warrior was running on fumes. Instead claws buried deep, raking downward in a shock of pain. Blood immediately welled from the wound and Swiftspirit staggered.

There was... a lot of blood, she realized. Fox dung. She was already exhausted, and between the injuries she'd already taken and the new gash along her underside, she was feeling more than a little woozy, too. Swiftspirit stumbled back on unsteady paws, knowing full well that there was no way of her fighting like this.

Swiftspirit has been "knocked out" of the fight.

Willowdance hissed in pain as the other slashed out at her. She aimed for the crowd of cats and attempted, again, to squeeze herself in-both to get out of the fight, and because she could spot Rainypaw out of the corner of an eye. Rainypaw was not doing so well, now.

Desperate, Willowdance spun around and attacked back, fighting to get herself free from the battle.

"Newt?" Muddyleap purred the name before he blink and realized it was incomplete. "Wait, is it Newtpaw or are you a newly named..." he drifted off as he looked down to see that Newtpaw had collapsed again, giving him a soft frown. Really? He wasn't going to fall for that again - or maybe he was just tired...Oh well. Muddyleap sat there for a few heartbeat, soaking in the joy that he perhaps made his first real friend outside of WindClan. But then his ears perked and he started to glance around, his smile fading with a frown.

Oh, right... There was a war going on.

"Hey, Newt, I don't think you should..." he glanced over at the unconscious apprentice who still wasn't moving. "I mean I respect that you are trying this again but I am still pretty..." he cut himself off, tilting his head as Newtpaw still didn't move. ...Was that bad? It might be bad. The tom was still breathing but he wasn't stirring. ...Yeah, that was bad, wasn't it? He opened his mouth to call out, say something but cats were busy fighting each other - he could see his momma and sister facing off, same with his some of his half-siblings. Lilacstar was also down, but there was a lot more blood there...

"Um...I-I'm just going to take you to the entrance, okay?" he muttered as he leaned down, gently grabbing the tom by the scruff as he started to drag the apprentice toward the entrance. "Don't walf you getting stepped on," he grunted through Newtpaw's fur, hoping that he wouldn't be attacked as he moved the apprentice to the entrance where hopefully he could recover easily or at least be picked up by his Clanmates.

Beechface stepped back as Lilacstar fell... And the sudden blur of movement was the only warning she had that another cat was lunging for her. Beechface twisted, managing to duck out of the way, something she might not have been able to do had she not still kept up with sparring whenever she could, and lashed out with an unsheathed paw, a growl rumbling in her throat. Lilacstar had attacked her first, and now it looked like one of her warriors was doing the same. Beechface had no qualms about fighting, but it seemed that Windclanners enjoyed breaking the code more than she did.

Beechface used Dodge and Fight for -15 sp, dealing -5 damage. Counterattack was successful!

Ashfall recoiled from the strike, the sting of the blow annoying her. She wouldn't let that get to her though as she darted forward again, teeth snapping at her opponent. Fight, flee, or die, it was the Skyclanner's choice, and she had to make it soon! Waffling between fighting and fleeing would get her injured beyond what Ashfall intended for her.

Nighthaze's eyes widened in shock, so much blood... his opponent was backing away. "I-" He stepped back, shocked. "I... I'm, uh, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry!" Tears filled his eyes, and his vision blurred. Starclan please, don't let her die, please don't force me to cause death, please please please. With his opponent backing off, Nighthaze ran, he ran away from her, backing off to the edge of the fight. That Windclanner hadn't chosen this, Dawnhawk chose it for her. Where was Dawnhawk. Please, someone, find Dawnhawk! Before he had to cause more injury! Please!
