"Great Starclan, Shrikesong, you're as bulky as Skyclan's deputy." His name slipped her mind but Kitefire grunted the sentiment as she was pressed back into the ground once more. Shrikesong was quite the challenge. Soft pads pressed into her sister's coat with force that was surprising for a warrior with such a slender and delicate frame. A vapid cloud of frostbitten air left the sides of her maw as she hissed softly at the effort, fighting back with all the strength she possessed.

Shrikesong knew that it wasn't going to be an easy fight, but the warrior did think that she had the advantage at the current moment. All I have to do is not lose it. The brown she-cat eventually got enough of a grip to push her sister down to the ground, pinning her down. She didn't underestimate her sister, and Shrikesong somehow was able to pin her down. Although the brown she-cat knew better than to count her sister out, it seemed like Shrikesong had enough of a hold for her to securely win.

It was strange, this whole thing. Not the glowing white snow under his paws, chilling his feet, or the crystal clear sky above, shivering stars spattered across its blackness. But, instead, the fact that he and his Clanmates were here, lined up, for... games.

Games. While they were currently living under an occupation so thick the tension could be cut with a claw.

What had possessed Asylum to come up with this?

The thought rattled around in his brain with a hint of unease as he glanced around at his Clanmates lining up for it. There wasn't really much else they could do - there wasn't much point in them not giving in. Still... it rankled at his pelt, like it was some sort of appeasement to make their miserable Clan lives easier.

A playful call cut through the still night as his breath puffed in the cold air, and he caught Shrikesong and Kitefire grappling, the snow churned up as they went at it. At least they sounded happy; he couldn't quite bring himself to summon up excitement or even a hint of eagerness. Unlike his mate. The expression on her face did bring a smile to his maw, one that quirked further up into a grin as Beecloud rumbled straight up to her for a challenge.

He stepped aside out of the zone of their scuffling kicking up drifts of white, huffing a quiet laugh at the younger warrior's statement. He has no idea, The amused thought ran through his head, the memory of a sparring match in a different time - what almost felt like a different life, now - flickering back from the past. He could still remember the sparkle in her green eyes as she stood above him looking back down, sunlight glimmering around her head, the sweet smell of dried grasses sighing in the wind thick in the air. For just a moment, the memory mingled with reality; taking a touch of the sting of the present away, even as it injected a familiar melancholy. Simpler times.... Shaking the thought off, he called to the pair, "I wouldn't go easy if I were you, Beecloud! She means it when she says she won't." A hint of teasing coloured his tone, his eyes twinkling as the smile lilted.

Cheville was bored. She had nothing better to do in this boring ThunderClan camp. All they did all day was sulk around. At least the games seemed fun. Padding towards the crowd of cats, the fluffy brown tabby flicked her tail at another she-cat in a greeting. "Hi. Let's spar. May the best fighter win." Smirking slightly, the quick scout dashed towards the other she-cat's side, shoving her in the side not too soft, but also not too hard. Her goal was to make the she-cat stumble and fall, so that Cheville could then pin her down.

It seemed that her teeth couldn't clench any tighter. The metallic tang of blood seeped inter her senses as a small prick of blood welled up from the inside of her maw. Kitefire was straining for the effort for the sake of good fun and the underlining desire to prove something to herself. Apparently she wasn't strong enough. There was a low huff as she pressed back, giving it her all. But the strength had been sapped from her frame with overexertion. This battle had already been won. Kitefire fell back into the earth with a defeated sigh. Her limbs went limp as she untangled herself from her sister. A faint frown twisted into a teasing smile, "Alright, you great lump, you win this round. Next time, I'll get you for sure."

Cedarheart wasn’t sure what to make of this. These cats had invaded, torn them apart, killed innocent dats, and now they were suggesting games. She hadn’t planned to show up, but after seeing her daughters and Beecloud, she decided that maybe it would be a good distraction. She could take out some of that anger in a safe way. She bounded near the rest of cats, most of them engaged in spars. A small smile split on her face, despite herself.

"Hey, Minkstream!” she called out, trying to get the deputy’s attention. He was standing still, not participating. At least not yet. "Let’s see what you got!" She called out, hurtling herself at the older tom. She tried to pin him down, and found herself enjoying this. She was glad she hadn’t been paired up with some Asylum cat, at that point it may have become more than just a spar.

Out of pure habit, Robinloft had made sure to get ready for the evening, as she would before every gathering. She had already groomed her pelt before she saw an Asylum cat walk by her, and she was reminded of how there would be no gathering. A sigh escaped her mouth as she scanned the camp, a sort of sad feeling washing over her. Going to the gatherings was something she looked forward too, and who knew how long the Asylum would keep the clans under their grasp? Something caught her eyes that shook her from her thoughts. It seemed as though some kind of sparring was going on on the other side of the camp? Confusion clouding her gaze, she walked over to get a better view, and soon found that it was somewhat organized. She watched as Kitefire and Shrikesong finished a spar, and how Cedarheart and Minkstream had begun. "Yeah! Go Cedarheart! I believe in you!" She cheered her friend on from the sidelines, enthusiasm in her mew.

Perking his tufted ears at the group of cats gathered at the other side of camp, yet again falling victim to his curiosity. Something about the large gathered groups just called out to him. It didn't take him long to see that there was some kind of sparring event going on. Padding over, he nosed his way into the group and immediately saw Minkstream. What if he got angry at him again? backing away he joined a section of the group far away from Minkstream to avoid some kind of argument.

Thrushnose had spoken too soon. It wasn’t a denmate that appeared to challenge her, but a stripy brown puffball of a cat. One of Asylum’s rogues. Ears twitching, she glanced around. If this was a trap, someone would hear—would intervene before things got too far out of paw. “May the best fighter win,” she echoed, voice low. She’d only just shut her mouth when the rogue charged into her side. Thrushnose stumbled, but didn’t fall. No claws. She caught the instinctive snarl in her throat just in time to shape it into a milder hiss, and reared up to wrap her forelegs around her opponent’s shoulders, trying to shift some of her weight over the smaller cat.

"Ha!" Beecloud snickered in a half-gasp, stumbling back as she exchanged their momentum and toppled him. He landed on his side with a small thud, scrambling to roll onto his belly for a strong counter-attack. "That's very sneaky of you!"

His next attack was more powerful than the last, though inhibited by his surprise. Being so large came at one disadvantage... Beecloud was cripplingly slow. He did not have enough wiggle room to escape without Batbite pinning him down. He planned to use the size difference to his advantage and shove her away. He landed a solid kick on the she-cat's hips, knocking her sideways and away from him, giving him a crucial moment to roll up onto his paws again. He wrung out his back legs and set them wide against the next attack that was sure to come.
