Songkit gave her brother, Eaglekit, a challenging glance before zooming off, outpacing the other kits. Even if she didn't win, there was no way she'd let her siblings win. Using her front two paws, she stopped right in front of Eaglekit, flashing out with her polydactyl paws and thoroughly coating him in snows. "Oops~" Songkit chuckled, a look of mischief covering her face. Giggling she peeked into the newly formed hole to see if there was anything.

Much to her surprise there was, and she stuck her tongue out at Eaglekit, "Songkit one, Eaglekit zero!" She teased, swiftly licking his cheek before racing off with her newly found frozen sparrow.

Eaglekit had left the nursery in a huff, following his little sister with barely restrained fury simmering in his dark eyes.  Ever since he had been batted around by that Asylum she-cat he had begun to grow much colder towards anything having to do with that group of intruders, including these dumb little 'games'.  What were they trying to do, tempt ThunderClan into submission by making them do tricks for their amusement before throwing them little treats?  He didn't want to be a part of it...but Songkit had seemed so excited.  His sister's bright, happy smile was one of the few things he couldn't say no to, and so here he was.  

When the alert was called for them to begin, he was about to take off when, suddenly, a wave of snow came down upon him out of nowhere.  "Wha-!  Hey!"  Shaking the cold flakes off of his face, he was just in time to see his ginger-pelted littermate grin at him before laughing, bouncing away to find her first piece of prey.  "Yeah yeah, enjoy it while it lasts!"  Sticking his tongue back out at her in turn, this seemed to finally break his mood; golden eyes glimmering as he let out a little play-growl her way, he started sniffing the air for prey-scent. His nose quickly led him to a spot by the nursery, and after a few moments of digging he came up with a half-frozen sparrow. Holding the bird up high in his jaws, he purred and waved his tail at Songkit, eyes glowing with the thrill of the challenge, before setting off to find his next 'victim'.

Spottedkit raced towards the nursery to start her search. She limped slightly on her weaker paw but didn't let it slow her down. If I win, then Nettlestar will see I can still be a great warrior, and then she'll have to make me an apprentice, twisted paw or no twisted paw! She started digging through the snow, searching for hidden prey. The kit heard her sibling's victorious cheers but tried not to look anxious about their quick finds.

She moved the snow that was covering a lump on the ground, only to find a piece of wood. The kit frowned and tried scurried to another area to continue her search.

Eaglekit noticed Spottedkit's bad luck out of the corner of his eye and as he raced past her he couldn't help the urge to stick out his tongue, but his playful laugher took the edge off of the mocking gesture.  Songkit hadn't found her next target yet so he went on, sniffing the air once more. His keen senses quickly picked up another scent and after a moment of digging he came up with a nice juicy vole. "Got another one Songkit, better hurry up!"

"Oh yeah? Well,  I'll still beat you!" She challenged, a purr rumbling like thunder in her throat. Putting the thawing sparrow by the nursery, she scampered off in hot pursuit of another piece of prey, briefly twining tails with Spottedkit. While still not pleased about the Asylum cats living with them, Songkit thought that these games were quite fun.

Her foot got caught in a dip in the snow causing her to fumble. A curious glance told her that it was merely a hole and that no prey lingered inside.

Spottedkit managed a playful laugh as Eaglekit raced past her but her expression changed to anxious the moment he turned away. Wha if I don't find anything? Then Needlestar will think I'm completely useless, and I"ll never become an apprentice! She thought despairing. No, I won't give up! I know I'll find something if I keep looking. With the glint of determination in her eyes the calico kit rose to her feet and resumed her search.

The scent of prey caught her attention and she perked up hopefully. After searching for the origin of the scent for a moment she spotted a lump of snow nearby and raced towards it as fast as her twisted paw would allow. She dug through the powdery snow and with a huge grin pulled a large frozen mouse out of the hole. "Ha, got one!"

Eaglekit waved his tail and purred as his younger sister Spottedkit found her first piece of prey; he knew how much she worried about how her crippled paw would affect her prospects as a warrior, and felt that some encouragement was in order.  However, this was still a competition, and he wasn't about to just let her win!  He was in the lead, but he still pushed through the snow with as much focus as ever to find his next quarry. Nose carrying him towards a rather large pile of snow, he dug through the drift until he touched something brown and furry. "Woah, I found a squirrel!" Golden eyes wide and excited, the tall kit hauled the large prey animal out from the snow and held it up the best he could, but ended up stumbling over its tail. Instead deciding to drag it, he proudly placed it with his other two catches.
