May Gathering 2020 [Sitewide Plot Finale]

Vixenstar grinned as she locked eyes with Dappleshine, knowing what was to come. Ah, the sweet, sweet release of death. It was almost... Euphoric. In life, death was so painful, so... Dull. But now, it set every vein in her body alight, searing her very soal. Her lungs had stopped moving, and her blood stood still. Adrenaline had overcome her, blocking the true pain from ever reaching her, and she was quite alright with that.

She had more important things to focus on.

Though it took much concentration and stung worse than an enraged hornet, Vixenstar was able to slowly flicker in and out of consciousness. Dappleshine's blow had done much damage to her physical form, and such things were not easy to repair- let alone reverse. But after several moments, air rushed into her lungs as she took a deep breath, and her heart started pumping once again. Stars began cascading down her pelt in a waterfall of bright, glittery twinkles. Before the Clan cats on each side of her had time to react, she was on her paws in an instant. A high-pitched, bird-like cry left her maw as she stood with her shoulders squared, her amber eyes glowing in the moonlight. She cracked her neck as a sickening grin fixated itself on her muzzle, absorbing the chaos around her. Vixenstar was more alive than ever, and dared someone to take a shot at her again.

Vixenstar used Divine Resurrection, replenishing her Health and Stamina Points. Song of the Stars has been activated, granting all Righteous Few NPCs +20 Health Points.

Cherryblossom quickly gave a sigh of relief as Vixenstar finally fell, but her relief was short-lived as the ghost-cat picked herself up off the ground, looking as healthy as when the battle began. The little tabby let out a snarl of defiance, and launched yet another attack.
"We're gonna kill you as many times as it takes for you to stay dead!"

As Lavenderbreeze fought off the claws of many a Clan cat, she heard her leader's yowl echo around the clearing. She shook off the last few attacks, and while her opponents were preparing for another volley, she grinned widely as she felt strength pour back into her battered body.
"You'll have to try harder than that."

Dustcloud growled, eyes flickering to Raventail for a very brief moment before setting back on Badgerstar. "Why should we believe anything that comes out of your mange-ridden, fox-hearted maw!?" Without giving the tom much chance to respond, she darted forward, rearing up on her hind legs before bringing two forepaws down on his stupid, starry head.

Dustcloud used Upright Lock, dealing -17 Health Points and using -19 Stamina Points.

The sight and smell of his clanmate's, his beloved's, blood sent Wolfcall into a fury. As Winchatswirl pulled away, Blossomstep's blood still fresh on her claws, he charged back in. How much punishment would this starry warrior take before she fled, or died? He was ready to find out. His paws lashed out, raking furrows into the marbled she-cat's side.

Cedarheart watched as the Starclan cat came back. She snorted. Seriously? Oh well, if it was for Dacedream and the others...her anger started to rise once again. ”You can’t fight forever!” she mewed defiantly. But what if they could? What if eventually, everyone just got too tired, to hurt to carry on. She ran at Vixenstar, as the she-cat wasn’t focused on her, and knocked her down.

As she pinned down the red pelted ShadowClanner, the apprentices attacked her, though she merely laughed wickedly, grinning, as the Song of the Stars graced her ears. "Fools!" She laughed, digging her wicked claws in deeper. She swiped a claw over the pinned cat's head, shooting stars in her eyes once more before she turned, her eyes gleaming at Briarpaw with menace.

IVYLIGHT has RECOVERED TWENTY HEALTH from VIXENSTAR'S SONG OF THE STARS. IVYLIGHT used Switching Focus, DEALING SEVENTEEN DAMAGE to REDWOLF, and changing her focus onto BRIARPAW, COSTING TEN SP. REDWOLF is STUNNED for ONE TURN.

The realization that Oakstar was a very heavy hitter was the first and probably only coherent thought that raced through Dawngaze's mind. She should have been expecting it, but it was clear that her rage had clouded her expectations; she expected the jump on him and pull him apart limb from limb without retaliation simply because she thought of him as prey rather than another cat. She snapped out of her shock, focusing again on Oakstar and how badly she wanted to gut him. Of course he didn't understand. "What more? You should have left me to die! You made me live like this... alone... alone!" She dashed forward, throwing her weight at the ground and sliding under him to bring her claws up to his belly.

Dawngaze used Half-Turn Belly Rake on Oakstar, dealing 15 damage and using 14 stamina.

Streampaw, woozy and feeling nauseous, stumbled towards a random direction, hoping that none of the Righteous Few would follow her. Her head spun and the world tumbled around her. Growling slightly, she collapsed in front of a tree, listening to the sounds of battle as she finally succumbed to the pain in her head...

Streampaw is KO’d.

"Mmm..." Badgerstar hummed, fur ruffling with static pleasure as the power of the ancestors lined his fur, strengthening him. Vixenstar's shrill cry came after a truly immaculate display of willpower. He felt life for the first time in seasons. His eyes glowered at the two warriors and a smaller newcomer. "You haven't the slightest idea of what you're doing," he whispered. "We are not defeatable. Your claws do not scourge us. We do not bleed. What will you do when I come back?"

He lunged out at Dustcloud, making contact, before swiveling to face Juniperpaw. "You are brave. I hate to dispatch you. You should not be made to fight the wars your elders have waged. I will be swift, little paws."

Ebonypaw snarled as Beepaw fled. Charging out of the shadows, she tackled the StarClan warrior, knocking her onto the ground, hard. She leaped off her opponent, and ran into the shadows again.

Daisybloom nodded to Mossbloom, nervously. Soon she saw an injured apprentice, and rushed towards her, fumbling around with some herbs. ”Here!” she mewed, trying to block out the sounds of battle. Blood, screams, and yowls surrounded her. The world started to shake. She focused on helping this Riverclanner, to get her through. But she wouldn’t wake up. She tried to make her eat the herbs, but it wasn’t working. She groaned in frustration. Streampaw was too weak right now. She glanced aliens for a Medina cat that could help her.

The world was slowly coming to a stop, but Redwolf still needed a few moments to fully regain her bearings. Taking a few more ragged breaths as claws slashed the back of her head, Redwolf finally gathered the strength to throw off her attacker and stagger to her paws. However, she still needed a few seconds to focus again.

Redwolf is stunned for this turn.

A soft choking noise left her throat as she shoved cobwebs on the blood."Morningpaw, Morningpaw! Don't you dare give up on us! We need you! You have to keep fighting! Tell your heart to beat right now! Or- or- or I'll make you eat burnet and chamomile for a moon! They are more bitter than a leaf-bare morning! And- and- you'll have to roll in a patch of wild garlic and do elder duties! You'll reek of garlic and mouse-bile, and have a foul taste in your mouth, so get up!"

Her voice quivered as she threatened her in the way only Softpaw knew how, trying desperately-- but failing-- to sound stern. She caved and stood, standing with a solemn expression as she tears pooled up in her eyes. Oh, what a failure she was.


Glancing up, she saw Briarthorn attack Galestar, and she wanted to cry out, but suddenly, she found herself feeling.... Empty. Numb. Emotionless, even. She'd lost so much. So, so much... Jetflower, Hollowkit's littermates, Graybriar, Barleytuft, Finchstar... She'd failed all of them. Aspenheart, Raventail, Olivestone. She was an utter failure. Every cat she tried to save died. What kind of medicine cat couldn't help? What kind of healer couldn't heal?


She could... She could do this, right? Right. Right! ....Right? No... No, she couldn't. "Morningpaw, no! No, it's too soon!" She wailed, hunching over as a remorseful yowl pierced the air. Softpaw didn't look up. Her breathing quickened, heart racing. Thump, thump, thump. Thump, thump, thump. Three beats for every one, she sat there, hunched over, accelerated breathing, body shaking. She couldn't move. She was paralyzed with an overwhelming crescendo of anxiety, adding gasoline to the internal fire inside that was slowly melting her away.

She tried moving a paw, but it was unsteady, and she wobbled, and so she placed it back down as stable as she could. She felt dizzy, as if the ground around her was spinning in circles. And now it was. Closing her eyes forcefully, she forced her thoughts into pure emptiness, gazing at the blackness of her lins. Happy thoughts.

Two cats with kitten soft fluff, one a sandy ginger, the other pale cream, sat side by side, pelts brushing as they fondly gazed at beetles together, snouts low to the ground. The childhood memory suppressed a pang of anxiety, until the image changed. The sandy ginger tom kit was much bigger now. And he was covered in blood. Downpaw was dead. Larchneedle's stood over him, grinning evilly, her brother's blood on his paws.

With a pained gasp, her eyes flew open and she looked down, gazing at the small puddle formed by her paws. How odd. How was it that one's mind often tricked itself? Hurting itself because it simply couldn't keep up with everything. Excuses, scenarios, what ifs. Some were funny or good. But most of them hurt. As she glanced at her paws, and the tears beside them, they suddenly changed from their soft white, to bloodstained. Shaking her head to clear herself of this nightmarish anxiety, she slowly backed up, tears bubbling.


A soft voice whispered gently, calling her forwards, there was a light. And like a moth to a flame, she ran for it. Her eyes opened, and everything looked fine. Or not. Morningpaw. She was a lost cause. Aspenheart knew it, Morningpaw knew, Softpaw knew it. But she refused to accept it, not again. She wasn't gonna let another one of her loved ones die. Then something happened.



Don't die. Don't die. Don't die. Don't die. Don't die. Rushing forward, she stuffed more cobwebs into the wounds, soaking up blood. "Don't ever scare me like that again." She whispered, fear lacing her voice- along with tears.

Foxspirit watched the battle progress from Spotlake's side. The Clans seemed to be winning from what she could see. Vixenstar, the cat who claimed to have killed Dappleshine's kit, fell. But then, she revived. "What?! I thought only living leaders could do that!" Foxspirit looked from Spotlake and Morningpaw, who was starting to look better, to the battle, feeling torn. Cats were out there, dying, and their enamy was reviving. "Spotlake, I... I'm sorry, but the battle is getting worse and they need me out there..." Foxspirit ran into the battle, towards Vixenstar. She reared up on her front legs, using her hind legs to kick her in the face before turning around to face her once more.

Oakstar flinched at the cruel words that slipped through the she-cat’s muzzle. His blow softened as he stared at her in horror. She wished he left her to die? Every piece of him railed against that. His head lowered as his will to fight left him shattered for a moment.
"What about Dustcloud? She and I… we raised you as our daughter. You were never alone… you’re part of our family. Blood doesn’t matter." His amber gaze lifted to hers pleadingly. "We love you Dawngaze. I love you."
