Sandblaze was well aware that he passed the Highpine a few foxlengths back, but he wasn't about to lose a hunk of prey this fat. He had been trailing a squirrel across nearly the entire ThunderClan border. He figured it had laid on the chub from a few moons eating twoleg carrion and whatever else it could find. He didn't really care about the image problem he had made for himself in ThunderClan, anyway. If they had a problem, they could come find him and his two brothers. He was potentially the pansiest of the three of them, if he was honest, being meticulous about his own grooming and not appreciating rain or mud, but there was something to be said about the chaos he produced in battle. Too bad he kept getting his tail whooped anyway. The squirrel was on his territory first, so the next ThunderClanner who tried to stop him was going to hear about it for moons when they went back to camp squirrel-less and with his claw marks in their rump.

He landed on the squirrel with a thud and snapped its spine. Bingo! His pride, as usual, overshadowed the faint smell of another cat nearby.

Tufted ears strained hard to catch the faint sounds that echoed in her mind. Dawngaze, alone, paced in circles as she tried in vain to pinpoint where the whispers in the distance were coming from, but there seemed to be no source. The she-cat had heard the sounds since her return to ThunderClan and she'd finally had enough of the meaningless sounds following her every move; she would find out who was playing games with her. She caught a sharp snap nearby, unlike the other sounds but her best shot at finding out what was driving her mad. The tortoiseshell warrior crashed through the undergrowth, laying eyes on the SkyClan intruder and swiftly crashing into him without a moment to fully think through the situation.

"Woah!" Sandblaze yelped as the bulky warrior slammed into his side with the distinct smell of ThunderClan about her. "Alright, alright! Take it easy, I'm gone!" Taken by surprise, he scrambled up a tree and was nearly out of there before he realized he had left his catch on the forest floor below. With an annoyed and frustrated growl, he took a running start and pushed off the trunk, taking the tabby down with him.

"Sike! Sorry to drop in, but I'm not leaving without my catch," he hissed.

Dawngaze had truly considered following the SkyClan tom up the tree before deciding that she was better off on the ground. His flight from ThunderClan territory was satisfactory enough - or so it would have been had he actually turned tail and ran as she thought. The air was forced from her as the sandy tom collided with her from above, and Dawngaze stifled her shock quickly enough to roll atop of him and pin him with sharp claws digging into his back. The temptation to sink her teeth into his neck itched at her, but she knew Oakstar would simply throw a fit, even if SkyClan were a bunch of apprentice-killers.

"Then you won't be leaving." She snarled, voice dripping with icy cold disgust. Maybe it was a bluff or maybe it was a promise. Even she didn't know for certain.

Dawngaze used Leap-and-Hold on Sandblaze, dealing 9 damage and using using 10 stamina. Sandblaze is pinned for two turns.

"Comin' on a little strong for a squirrel in Greenleaf, sassy!" Sandblaze gruffed as he squirmed around to reach some semblance of fur or flesh. He resigned himself to biding his energy underneath the huge she-cat's weight and sucking in deep breaths. "I'd sure appreciate my prey back if you're going to sit on me. It was in my territory first!"

It was certainly true that there was an abundance of other prey around, but in Dawngaze's mind, the point was not the squirrel. It was the disorder of the breaking of the rules that really disturbed her, and if this SkyClan kittypet thought she would stand by and let him break the Code, he had another thing coming. Refusing to respond to his petty taunt, Dawngaze raked her claws along his back in an effort to teach him not to make the same mistake again. She found that shedding blood had often solved many of her daily problems.
