Her mind still partly-muddled with sleep, Tigerleaf understood mainly one thing. Camp was flooding—flooding as it never had before. In all her moons, the young warrior had yet to experience a flood. If one were to think of "water," would not RiverClan come to mind? Why SkyClan, whose ancestors had not passed down to them the ancient art of swimming? There were better ways to die, and then there were worse ways to die. In Tigerleaf's opinion, drowning was definitely not how she wanted to go. As her clanmates dashed to and fro in panic, their cries seeming to echo off the swiftly rising water level, she busied herself with the kits. Picking them up by the scruff, she placed them one at a time on the backs of warriors who quickly ferried them off to safety. A mother herself, she now understood how much the little ones meant to their parents. She had learned many lessons ever since she and Condorshade had first become mates. One could definitely say that she had grown as a cat and a clanmate. If she do anything about it, no one would ever have to lose a family member when she was around.

When the waves crashed into SkyClan camp, Tigerleaf was fortunate enough to have been halfway up a tree. At the very last moment, Tinystar's orders had saved her. As much as she had grown to detest the stumpy-legged tom for Sparrowpaw's death, she found her paws doing exactly what he had screeched for them to do. The slender birch trembled violently against the force of the madly rushing waters, but it remained firmly upright. Her jaws clenched, her ears flattened, and her claws fully unsheathed, the striped she-cat practically hugged the trunk in her desperation. Then, out of the corner of her eye, she caught a flash of familiar tabby fur. Her pale-yellow eyes widened, filling with horror. "Leafpaw!" She screeched in anguish. Seconds later, she caught sight of her son as well. "Foxpaw!" What had they been doing on the ground? Had they not heard Tinystar's instructions? Earlier, Tigerleaf had seen Leafpaw together with the SkyClan leader. She had believed that her kits would be all right. They were strong and knew how to handle themselves well. She had thought... She had thought... All of a sudden, she was about to lose more of her loved ones. Over the roar of the water, Foxpaw's desperate yowl reached her ears. There was no way Tinystar could help them.

Tigerleaf dove straight into the depths.

Foxpaw let out a sigh of relief as his sister grabbed his scruff and pulled him out of his dazed mind. He purred. ”Thanks.” When they were safe but that didn’t last for long. The moments flashed before his eyes. ”Leafpaw!” He grabbed onto her shoulder with his claws before the huge wave him them both. He let out a gasp for air and realized he was under the trees. He saw a familiar pelt. ”Tinystar!” He shrieked as he and Leafpaw went under again, getting battered by the waves.

After having put the kits under others' protection, the tom began to look around for Fernpetal. He soon heard calls from his clan-mates and turned to look at why they sounded even more frightened. His pelt fluffed up in fear as he scrambled around to try and find anything to hold onto. "F-F-Fernpetal! Be c-careful!" He yowled in alarm.

The tom squeaked when the water crashed into him and began to carry him away. "H-Help!" he cried out pitifully as he kept his head out of the water. He was nervous to where the wave was taking him.

Cloverpaw ran from camp, her cream pelt stained a dirty mud-brown. The floods had come earlier in the night and now every cat was running for their lives. She streamed behind some of the cats, then thought she should jump into a tree, because Skyclan cats are the best at jumping. Jumping into the nearest tree, she climbed into the branch, but she didn't get enough of a good hold. She soon slipped off of the wet bark, falling into the rushing tides. She struggled to stay afloat, bobbing above and below the water. She flung her paws out at all angles and at every chance she got trying to find something to grab on to. She let out a breath of relief when her claws finally caught on something solid. She pulled herself toward it and blinked the filthy water from her eyes. Finding out it was another tree, She climbed up it, this time making sure she didn't fall. Looking between the leaves she saw pelts flashing by. Following her clan, she crawled among the canopy, making sure she had steady footing the whole way.

Tinystar's orders met her ears just in time; as the huge muddy wave bore down upon SkyClan's camp, Fernpetal abandoned her efforts and dashed as fast as she could towards the treeline, jumping high and landing on a low branch overlooking her waterlogged home.  Despite her safety though, the she-cat was shivering violently.  W-where is he?  He was by the nursery...  She thought for a heartbeat that she could hear her own voice being spoken and glanced around frantically, but the impact of the flood washed away all sounds except that of rushing water and the creaking of her tree.  "...S-Silentwhisper?  Silentwhisper, can you hear me?!"  It felt odd, being this concerned about another cat...it reminded her of the days when she had had a sister.  Her murky green eyes strained, trying to catch sight of his pelt...

"H-Help!"

Ears instantly swiveling in the direction where his voice was coming from, Fernpetal turned around on her branch, heart almost beating out of her chest.  There he was, drifting away between the trees below!  For a moment she hesitated, logic wrestling with emotion, yet for the first time, it seemed her heart had beaten her head.  Gritting her teeth, the bi-color tabby warrior crouched down, waited until her best friend was within range, and sprang.  As her paws left the branch, she questioned her sanity and wondered why she had been stupid enough to think she could actually pull him to safety against such a current, yet as she flew down through the air she knew she had made the right choice, despite everything.  She had faith in herself to get them through this...and she had the same faith in him.

Splashing down with a cough as her head plunged under, the inexperienced she-cat began to paddle her paws, and soon caught up with the silver tabby tom.  "Pfft, y-you idiot!  Didn't you hear Tinystar?!  You could've been killed!"  Her words and face were angry, but the she-cat's grip trembled as she clung onto his larger form.  I could've lost you...  Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a fairly thick branch float by, and released herself to kick out after it, sinking her claws into the moist bark.  "C'mon, grab hold!  It can carry us both!"

Swanpaw darted towards a tree as Tinystar's yowl rang out, her heart pounding so loudly in her chest she was afraid it would burst before she reached safety. The kit swinging from her jaws made barely a sound as she scrambled up the bark, rough wood scraaping her tough paw pads. I hope he's alright... Is he alright? Gently, she set the kit down on the branch, steadying it between her paws as she checked it. The poor thing was shivering, its eyes wide and staring as it looked at nothing, but it didn't seem physically injured.

Her head jerked up as a booming, echoing crack resounded through the trees, and for a moment she feared that the trees around the camp were falling. A moment later, something far worse came rushing across the ground, and her ears pinned against her head as she practically threw herself on top of the kit, attempting to shelter it from what was coming as she dug her claws into the bark and turned her face away.

A moment later, the massive wall of black water, like all of the dark forest's hatred of everything living incarnate, roared straight into her tree.

For a moment, the only thing she felt was water splashing against her pelt as it crashed against the tree trunk below, and the vibration as it valiantly held off the onslaught. Then, the thing she had dreaded happened. With a creak that quickly turned into a groan, the pine tree lurched forwards under the weight of the water, tilting at an angle as she desperately dug her claws in, panicked breaths echoing in her ears. Nononononono! Please StarClan no!

Her prayers were apparently unheard, for with a massive ripping sound, the tree lurched forwards, crashing into the water. And Swanpaw was flung into their raging depths.

Watching in horror as the wave crashed through camp, sweeping away his clanmates and the majority of their camp, Sunpaw jumped to the nearest tree, not because he was told to do so, but because it was the first thing he would've done no matter what the danger was. Shimmying up the trunk of the tree, the water kept rising and at one point touched his rump, which sent him up faster than he'd ever imagined he could climb before.

Not daring to look down bellow, the lean apprentice clung to a branch, his eyes shut and abnormally large ears pinned back against his head. Great StarClan, what was happening? Though it was difficult through the wind and rain, he was just able to pick up his father's voice in the distance, which said something about going to Highstones. While the last thing he wanted to do was go on some journey away from home, there obviously wasn't much home left and so they had no choice.

Standing up and trying to control his quivering legs, he readied himself to jump on the branch above. Jumping along the branches, Sunpaw soon caught up to his father who had already begun to lead what was left of the clan to their next destination. StarClan certainly show much mercy to the tree jumpers and he wondered what in the world they had planned for them...
