The Amberous Daisy (closed)

Making his way into the apprentice den, Daisyflame found Amberpaw's pelt among the other bundles of sleeping apprentice's and gently prodded the younger she-cat's side. "Amberpaw, wake up," the tom mewed softly. Tonight, he'd take her on a hunting patrol to teach her the basics of how to hunt as a ShadowClan cat.

Amberpaw seemed to blinked her Amber eyes open as she felt a gentle prod in her side. Her gaze moved up to see her mentors face"I'm up"She mewed quietly climbing to her paws.

Unlike his other apprentice, Orchidpaw, Amberpaw was able to wake up surprisingly fast, which he was proud of. Padding out of the apprentice den and over towards the camp entrance, Daisyflame turned to the she-cat, a smile on his ginger and white muzzle. "Today, we'll do some hunting. Ready to go?" he asked.

Amberpaw smiled some following after her mentor and gave a brisk nod "yep I can't wait to start"she mewed looking to him

Looking down to his apprentice, amber eyes gleamed with content. He hadn't known the younger she-cat for too long, but he enjoyed spending time with her, which he assumed was a good thing.

Padding out of the camp and into the marshy territory, Daisyflame led Amberpaw towards the center of the territory where they'd start their training. "So, how has the rest of your training been going?" the ginger and white tom asked, curious as to how her in-camp training had been.

Amberpaw smiled happily enjoying her mentors company. She was hoping that it was a good thing. She hoped it was just a normal thing. As she followed her mentor she gave a small smile"Its been going alright."She mewed flicking her black tail as she thought

Glad to hear that her training had been going well, a purr escaped from deep in his throat as the two of them walked side by side, their pelts brushing together. "That's good. I hope I'm training you well enough, but if there's anything you ever think I'm lacking in teaching you, please tell me," he chuckled, silently praying that such a thing wouldn't be the case.

Amberpaw gave a small smile and nodded padding on quietly smiling a bit more."You have been doing great. At least from what I know"She purred smiling as she walked. She then looked around quietly with bright amber eyes.

Glad she thought so, Daisyflame purred. "Well, I guess we should start hunting," he mewed and stopped in his tracks. "Catch at least two pieces of prey and I'll be silently observing," the ginger and white tom spoke and sat down.

Amberpaw seemed to blinked before she nodded smiling some she slipped off into the territory alone. Sniffing the air, the black she cat with a ginger nose streak sniffed for prey not finding anything at first. Then soon enough she caught the scent of a frog and followed it finding the slimy amphibian facing the opposite direction of the she cat. Crouching she moved forward silent. She leapt catching the slimy frog between her paws and killed it swiftly flicking her tail happily.

Watching as she went off to hunt, Daisyflame followed a few moments after, staying hidden in some brush. Waiting in silence as she hunted a nearby frog, a smile grew on his muzzle when she caught it. So far it seemed as though his apprentice would have decent luck on her hunt, which made the tom happy.

She smiled some and hid the frog to come back for before she continued on. Amberpaw sniffed the air again this time catching a scent that wasn't always in Shadowclan. It was thw sent of a bird or thats what she figured as she moved through the familiar territroy spotting the feathered creature on the ground. Creeping forward she hoped she could catch it. Though as she leapt ,something must have disturbed the bird that she had hoped would have been a great catch, the feathered bird flew out of her grasp and she flattened her blacl ears watching it vanish out of site for a moment. She didn't linger long on the thought as she turned sniffing thw air for the next peice of prey

Following his apprentice one more, Daisyflame watched as she failed to catch a bird, which was understandable. Birds were a pain to catch for any cat and he didn't know how SkyClan was so successful in hunting them, especially up in the trees. Hopefully Amberpaw's next attempt would be better.
