The loamy earth of the moors felt queer underfoot as Ivystar crossed the arbitrary border that outlined where Fourtrees split into WindClan territory. Leading a battle patrol, she was braced for the conflict that would ensue the moment false cordialities ended. Ashstar had no love for RiverClan, the odds of her conceding some herbs were low, if there were any. That worked for her, she was a fighter not a diplomat, her skills laid in shedding blood, not sparing. As she waited for a WindClan patrol to stumble back and warn their leader, she steeled her heart.

For RiverClan.

Otterleap was surprised to hear that he was apart of the contingency that would fight against WindClan. He'd thought that his actions with ThunderClan would bar him, but Ivystar had made it clear that she needed warriors who were experiences in fighting WindClanners. They were quick, striking twice when a RiverClanner would strike once. It was a frightening thing for the unexperienced, so he accepted. Though he couldn't say that he was glad to be here.

Minnowslip, she was eager to take on this duty. But not out of maliciousness or cruelty, no, she'd just lost her damned brother to illness that herbs could have cured. This wasn't about pride, but about saving her clan. If WindClan had to suffer for it, well, that was just too bad.

When Quailfeather and her patrol came running to report a giant patrol of RiverClan cats trespassing on WindClan territory, Ashstar felt only resignment. She had known that Ivystar would come with a battle patrol one of these days, it was only a matter of time. And the time had come. Her large patrol of warriors, and a few apprentices, was quickly chosen, and the delegation moved out. They didn't have to travel far to find the enemy cats. Whether they wanted territory, herbs or reinforcements, WindClan would hold firm. They had grown in strength since the fish-eaters' first ill-fated invasion; this time, the tables would be turned. The leader took a deep, determine breath as she saw Ivystar, meeting her blue eyes with a calm green gaze.

For WindClan.


Quailfeather hadn't panicked at the sight of RiverClan- rather, she had only felt a sense if anticipation. After moons of tension, they could kick some RiverClan tail! Assuming the reasonable assumption, of course, that the enemy cats were there for that reason. Standing by her family and the apprentices as part of Ashstar's patrol, the senior warrior stared down a brown tabby tom, unashamedly hostile eyes meeting his. She was ready to fight, if- when- it came to it.


Snowblossom had no desire to be here. Yet she was, because her leader asked her to. She was nothing if not loyal. She stayed close to her kin, frightened at the thought of battle, but trying to be brave. If they were lucky, WindClan would just give them the herbs and no one would get hurt.

Silverpaw stood behind his clan. His eyes narrowing and his claws raking the ground. He was anxious and nervous. He looked over at his mother Brindlewhisker and gave her a smile telling her he was ready to do what he must for his clan.

Sandfrost stood her ground in Riverclan's side. Her icy blue eyes sweeping across the enemies. Her heart thumped against her chest and she felt a bit light-headed. She could not believe they were this close to battling.

Gustpuddle followed in with the rest of the battle patrol, a total of twenty cats. She'd fought for WindClan before, she'd do it again, and then again the next sunrise if she had to. The small warrior came upon the RiverClanners alongside her Clanmates, narrowed eyes and flattened ears proving that she wasn't there to play around. Her fur was fluffed out against the cold, which hardly helped in making her look bigger. The snow underpaw stung her pads, but she ignored it and focused on what was yet to come.

Silentstrike padded in slowly beside Quailfeather, the thoughts coursing through his mind evident through the features on his face. No one wanted to fight, not during leafbare. Whatever it was that Ivystar wanted out of this, he and his Clanmates would be sure to keep from her. WindClan had done fairly well this season, and they weren't about to let it slip through their paws right at the end, when they were so close to Newleaf. As he looked to Quailfeather, his mate, he hoped that she would get through this as safe as she did the last battle they'd been through together. He knew she was strong, but he just hoped she was strong enough.

NOTE: Gustpuddle is considered disabled because of her significantly small size, so if any of yall need her stats, or any disabled cats stats, just keep in mind that'll be -5HP and -30SP.

The weight upon Brindlewhisker’s shoulders was a heavy one. The cruel claws of bitter resignation tore fiercely at her muscles and gnawed deeply at her bones, making each step a battle in its own right. It always came back to battles and the endless shedding of blood. Always. Carefully brushing past each of her kits and offering them a reassuring nuzzle or soft murmur, a bitter taste seeped upon her tongue as she slowly halted beside Ashstar. Give up their precious herbs to save the lives of those warmongering fish lovers? Leading her children into battle against such savages? Innocent or not, she’d be cold and stiff in the earth before RiverClan was allowed to even glance at Mottleheart and Featherlight’s limited store.

Rising to her full height with an agitated flick of her tail, the Deputy’s enraged gaze fell upon Jaystream and Ivystar. Feeling a seething snarl rumble in her chest, Brindlewhisker spat a wordless threat in the opposing party’s direction.

Feeling her claws leave ragged furrows deep within the brittle earth underpaw, Splashwillow apprehensively tore at the foreign soil with each step. A terrible fate had befallen Tigerpaw due to the simple fact that they couldn’t reach the herbs they needed. So now, she was leading her precious remaining children into battle once more. And for what? What was any of this for? By taking these herbs, they’d be sentencing another cat to a fate similar to her sons. Face screwing up against a particularly sharp gust of chilly air, Splashwillow halted beside Otterleap, her gaze training on the familiar pelts of Minnowslip and Snowblossom.

All of the forest would burn if anything happened to her daughters.

A venomous anger boiled within Adderpaw’s veins, frothing dangerously within the center of her being. Why was it WindClan? Why was this foul, apprentice-hunting Clan fortunate enough to have enough herbs? Herbs that could of saved Tigerpaw! A bitter bile filled the young she-cat’s mouth at the thought of another Clan having the resources needed to save her littermate. Head bowed in a quiet display of simmering rage, Adderpaw stalked after Viperstorm and her mother, unwilling to lift her gaze to catch a glimpse of the enemy before her.

Swiftstep stood at the front line. His amber gaze cold and unwavering. He stood tall and proud. He would fight for his clan with all the strength he has in his body.

Lilytail was standing beside Dewshine. Her shoulder pressed against her former apprentice's. Riverclan will have the herbs! She will fight for them with all her might!

Lionstorm padded alongside the Windclan battle patrol his amber eyes wide in anticipation, and mouth left slightly open to allow the scents of the moors to waft into the massive tom’s scent glands. He made sure to stay close by his former mentor, knowing full well that Quailfeather would know where he was needed in this fight, all the same he kept an eye open for the loudmouthed Apprentice he’d had the misfortune of meeting at the last gathering. The honourless fish-eaters had threatened to slaughter his entire clan, the lion-maned cat knew he’d fight until his lifeblood had ebbed from his body to ensure his clan lived on.

The golden warrior narrowed his eyes as the Riverclan patrol came into view, he recognised Ivystar, the cat most responsible for death and destruction in the forest as far as he was concerned, and the deputy was Jaystream, but so far as he could see the loud-mouthed apprentice wasn’t there. The large warrior rolled his shoulders, loosening his spine in anticipation of what was to come. While diplomacy had its uses, Lionstorm wasn’t fool enough to think this would end with just words, now was the time for him to prove his worth, and bloody the noses of a few Riverclanners while he was at it.

Dewshine stepped onto the soon-to-be battlefield, ready to face Windclan. They needed the herbs too badly to turn back now. She looked at her former mentor, then back to the field, as she pressed against Lilytail's shoulder comfortingly. They could do this, they would do this. Dewshine refused to fail her clan again by falling too soon.

Stormcloud felt a growl rise in his throat at the RiverClan patrol. What did they think they were doing?! His claws slipped out of their sheaths and sunk into the ground. He now thought of their rival Clan as no more than a badger. Bloodthirsty murders. Bloodthirsty, cowardly murderers. Still, they were a danger to his Clan. His eyes glinted with sharp distrust as he glared at them.

This was the first time that Jaystream was in Windclan's moors and Windclan cats were there. He didn't want to fight over herbs. They needed them, of course, but it felt wrong in his heart. Even if Tigerpaw died because of the lack of herbs his clan had, the deputy really wished to find a pacific solution to this issue. But... there was none. Windclan wouldn't let him have their herbs after they made an alliance with Thunderclan to be against them. Why would they help Riverclan? It was nonsense.

The tall warrior walked by the side of his mother and he looked at the Windclan leader and deputy. Unlike Brindlewhisker, the tom could answer her snarl with another one. There was no fury or desire of battle in him. He only wanted to finish this without death or maiming. Of course, he would fiercely for the clan he was loyal to, just like he did in the Great Battle for the Sunningrocks. That's why his green stared at the two she-cats seriously, no doubt and no anger.

The little warrior ran behind her clanmates with her short legs to reach the rest of the group. Her big amber eyes looked at the opposing clan and she looked at them with a bit of fear. Again, she was in the middle of a huge battle for the well-being of her clan. Why did Ivystar always chose her? She wasn't a strong fighter... she was small and physically weak. Even if she was able to defeat Specklefang and Sharptooth -two of the biggest warriors in Thunderclan- Tinytip still didn't trust in her own abilities. However... she had to fight.

The small tuxedo she-cat unsheathed her claws and lifted up her tail, ready to start. For Riverclan... she would do everything.

Silverfang stepped forward with her fur bristling and hissing at the Windclan's warriors. The warrior was happy that her kit, Petalpaw, was chosen as well with her to fight these moor-runners. The silvery warrior was eager to start the battle and fight her clan as she should do as a noble Riverclan. Riverclan needed those herbs more than anything and she was going to get them or be defeated while fighting. But she would never step back now... there was only one way to go and it was forward.

It had been moons since she had last stepped paw on this land. She had been just a newly named apprentice when the last battle between their Clans had taken place. Amberpelt was a bit surprised to have been called to be apart of this battle as she stood among her Clanmates, her head held high and her pelt well groomed even if it wouldn't be at the end of the day. Even if she was surprised...She was proud. Proud to be fighting in her Clan's name. But there was a hint of curiosity in her as she stared at the enemies lines, wondering if the elder she had fought against in that first battle was still alive. She wasn't expecting to see him - he was an elder after all but her curiosity still caused her to scan the crowd.

The warrior stood next to Viperstorm, giving the warrior a look. The two had spent a little time together - either while both tending to Lionspark when she was in RiverClan's care or just hanging around and she had to admit...She liked her. The sharp but caring attitude that Viperstorm had was appealing...Why, she could very much see why her son was so smitten with the she-cat. She smirked to herself as she swished her tail. While she was relieved that Snailbelly hadn't been chosen for this fight, she made a note to herself to try to keep Viperstorm safe if she could...And also to tease her son about the two's relationship when she got the time. She was his mother after all. What job was more important that embarrassing your son about his crushes?

...Well, she supposed the answer to that was in front of her as she shook her head, pulling her attention back fully to the battle, her muscles bunching as she waited for the command.

For RiverClan.

Batfang walked closely to his mate and he brushed his fur against hers before glaring at Windclan with narrowed and determined eyes. For his clan... for Tinytip... he couldn’t let them harm what was precious for him. Riverclan needed those herbs and he was willing to fight for them.

Viperstorm followed close by Ivystar and Jaystream in the battle patrol. She was thankful Ivystar asked her to come along. She was finally able to prove herself worthy for Riverclan. All of the battles have come and gone none of them allowing to prove herself. Today she would. Today she would be able to help her clan become victorious.

Badgerthorn followed Ashstar to meet the Riverclan patrol. Why? Why did they have to attack now of all times? The charcoal tom didn't understand. He knew there were issues but it wasn't acted on when he was alive. Even so.. Even if he didn't like the situation he was going to fight for his clan.

Squirrelpaw was with the Windclan apprentices. Her claws raking the ground and her blue eyes furious. Who did Ivystar think she was trying to take their herbs! They needed them as much as them. She would fight with everything in her.

Dovepaw had felt a flurry of emotions as she had ran with WindClan to meet RiverClan.
Anger; RiverClan wouldn't of come with so many cats if they wanted to simply talk something over. They wanted something, they had a goal, and they were going to make sure that they achieved it by pure force.
Pride; she had been chosen to go and fight, for StarClan's sake! She wasn't about to let WindClan down.
Happiness; a real fight... an actual fight... and she was participating in it. How awesome was that? Sure, the gray tabby had fought predators before, and she didn't even want to count Wolfpaw, so she had never really fought other cats before. Standing beside Squirrelpaw, Dovepaw sank her hooked claws into the dirt and glared at RiverClan with her yellow eyes.

Duckpuddle had wondered if RiverClan was ever going to resort to fighting for herbs ever since the idea had been pitched. Now, it was happening. She knew that RiverClan needed herbs, but WindClan would also suffer from this fight. Plus, if RiverClan lost, they'd have injuries, wounds, and barely any herbs to assist their recovery. The brown she-cat wasn't going to hold back, though. She was going to fight for her Clan like a loyal Clan cat should. It was a shame, though, that Duckpuddle was so focused on the outcome of the battle that she completely forgot about the cat that she knew on the rival side.
